I'm always amused listening to straight guys talk about how if, God forbid, a gay guy ever hits on them it would be an experience dwarfing the government organized gang rapes in Africa in its offensiveness, yet a woman is a total b***h if she tells a guy to go to hell if he hits on her (after all, she should be flattered).

The average man is taller and stronger than the average woman, and if women were allowed to use the "dudebro" logic of flirting being threatening, she should be allowed to pump a dozen rounds into any schmuck she doesn't like flirting with her.

Not sure if that's on topic. And I apologize to Chun for stealing one of her lines about guys in bars.

That's because males have the sacred duty to protect people's immersion.

OW, OWWW! YOU MADE ME LOLZ SO HARD, I SNORTED SODAPOP UP MY NOSE AND IT BURNS.

Bwa ha ha ha! It is my dream to come up with a punchline that will render the entire Bioware community unconscious with it's awesomeness.

In case you haven't realized it yet, I've taken up the sacred mission to ridicule the use of the word "immersion" till the "no-recon" fans are embarrassed to use it.

Joking aside, there are (sadly) grown men that act like getting hit on by a guy would be the WORST thing to happen to them EVAARRR. Doesn't matter in game or in reality, some boys won't grow up.<_<

lol if they have a point where a gay squad mate hits on you they should have a renegade momment where you launch that character out the airlock. then i would be perfectly fine with having him hit on my shep because he would be floating in space

Yeah, because that's a rational, tolerant reaction to homosexuality...

Quick, someone change the topic to something more pleasant. Like, um... GAY KAIDAN! YAY, GAY KAIDAN! ....seriously, that's all I got.

People'll be throwing Kaidan, Vega, and Joker back and forth until next year or Bioware plays mercy(or trolls) and releases the LI early. I don't want this thread to get stale-ever.

Wow! Now this thread is about bashing straight people. Is that what equality means? I was hoping that this thread would have stayed on the subject of what we were hoping to see with the inclusion of s/s relationships. Posted Image

Okay, I support your love/lust for Kaidan even though he isn't my thing... let's see... Kaidan...

I know!

What would be the perfect make-up present male Shepard can give to Kaidan? Or Ashley, if she's your s/s dream? Do you think "gifting," like DA:O, would be a good way to activate the bi-option?

KAIDAN: Oh, thank you, commander! *Opens present.* Wow... you got me a... French tickler!? *Dramatic pause followed by a wide grin.*

Whoa, hey now, when did that happen?

I don't think that any of us pull punches when it comes to the Straight Male Gamer, but as we've repeated several times, we hav enothing against gamers who happen to be male and heterosexual, but we take issue with the stance of self-proclaimed male gamers who hate it when their sexuality is "questioned" by the inclusion of same-sex options in "their" game.

I think that it would be adorable if manShep responded well to same-sex flirting from another man like James Vega, and then Kaidan overheard it and went, "Wait, what?" with a big, dawning look on his face. <3

I get this a lot as a Hispanic. People think we get off on saying we're oppressed that they can't wait to find any excuse to say they're being oppressed too. Checking back, it is true that I said "straight guys" when I should have said "CERTAIN straight guys." But as a straight male myself, I didn't think I need to be overt about not thinking that all of us are evil.

Maybe they could do something similar for Tali or Garrus. One of them walks into s/s Shepard's office and sees that issue of Formax (I think that's the title).

ALIEN L.I. : Um, Commander, I didn't know you found interspecies sexuality enjoyable. *Dawning look on his/her face/helmet.*

Arg, I dislike DA:O's gifting system. It made the interactions with characters really transparent and, as some have pointed out, you can be a complete d*ck to someone, but fix it all with a few gifts.

I like how it was handled in DA2, however. A few important gifts for characters that responded baised on their friendship/rivalry levels and pushed further in that direction.

Gifts in ME would be interesting, but then I'm all for more interactions with NPCs that don't revolve around "Let me tell you about my tragic past."

Hmn, a token of affection... Well, I used to give Ashley new shotguns all the time, I'm not sure she would take it the right way if I just did that again

Actually I always wanted to know what the squad's hobbies were, I think that'd be a great entry point to do a DA-style "significant gift" that can trigger a romance if you want. Like, Garrus plays turian checkers, or something, and you find a set in some rubble on Palaven while you're sniping batarian husks and hand it over when you get a free moment. Cue dialog:

"Wow, thank you, Commander. I've been looking for something to keep me occupied when I'm up late calibrating the Thanix."
"Well," <smirk>, "why didn't you say so, Garrus? I can think of a few ways I could help fill your nights.... Or anything else you might need filled, for that matter...."

Wow, that's, like, REALLY an extreme position. I mean, if she's the ONLY romance in ME3, a lot of players are going to be pissed. And, if you have her "turn" gay and invalidate or break up all the heterosexual romances out there, that would be... epic. Daring.

My favorite male Shepard has a thing for her, though, so I'm afraid I can't support your position.

I think you're reading too much into that statement. I think its more along the lines of wanting Ashley for s/s and not caring what the other options will be (because there will be at least one m/m option). As opposed to wanting ONLY Ashley and no one else.

It's not like they can have everyone be available for s/s romance. With some characters it wouldn't be even technically possible since they won't be major squaddies anymore. Also, there will never be a situation where Ashley is the ONLY s/s romance in ME3 since there's also Liara who will be in everyone's game, she can't die.

I always got the feeling that ME1 Liara's and ME2 Tali's hobby was to go through Shepard's garbage and personal effects to erect a shrine in his honor.
