I just find him very dull, as a character. His lip animations are pretty bad, I'll give you that. Is delivery is also kinda... "Yo, I'm super serious all the time. I say things with a lot of weight behind them."
Yeah, I can't really convey that via text....

I've thought that myself when I was what a hard time "Chun" had romancing him. Damn. Shepard comes on like a cat in heat right off the bat and he plays hard to get. Meanwhile, the "Ice Queen" turns into an insecure teenager and then a full fledge groupie with blinding speed, making her as easy as Tali. Considering how she was OBVIOUSLY built for m/f romance, I'm sure her fans would have put in the extra effort to get her into bed.

I would have liked them both better if they swapped scripts completely.

(That wouldn't save Jacob from Kanyeface, though.)

I think I'd rather Jacob be HATED rather than just ignored. The apathy for the man is deafening. Maybe they should have had him quote from the Bible, read poetry or confuse an alien with an animal or something to give him some heat with the fans/critics.

He does call Garrus a "cuttlebone" if the two end up in romantic competition, which people (myself included) tend to read as a pretty sketchy speciest slur.

Don't know why nobody makes much note of that. May have something to do with how few people romance him, I guess.

DAMN THAT JACOB! DAMN THAT XENOPHOBIC BASTARD! I hate him! He was mean to Garrus! He's sensitive! And he's been horribly scarred! How can that racist human be so mean to him!

Seriously, though, if we were buddies of Jacob and he's going out on the town to pick up some guys or gals, how would you suggest he spruce himself up, make over, lie about, etc.?

I made a post quite a few pages back (or was it in a different thread.. I dont remember) about how Jacob, already being over his past, robbed him of further character development. Granted, there are enough characters on the ship with daddy issues (Tali, Miranda) that another one would have gotten really tiresome.

Depends who he's trawling for, I think. If he wanted some guy-on-guy action, just put on a nice sharp tux like the one dude!Shep gets in Kasumi's mission, hit the clubs and smile (but, like, check the lighting first to avoid that chicklet-tooth effect). If he's after girls he's going to have to learn to fake a little bit of interest in his own life. :happy:
