If Kaidan's the M/M Li, the only M/M LI, and you leave him on Virmire like I did, I'm outta luck. It makes more logical sense for Vega to be the LI even though he won't have the same history; but like anyother memorable characters, it all comes down to the writing. Bioware isn't going to write off something so many of their fans want.

And if Vega's the only M/M LI, then gay guys won't have any romance that will be able to provide any trilogy experience every other option (straight/lesbian) got. That why ideally there would be at least 2, 1 new and 1 old.

Well I'm not asking for a trilogy long romance, just a well written one that doesn't feel artifical, so I could care less about that, but what you say is true though. Unless if Bioware states otherwise, there's only going to be one so people will be disapointed either way. Sad really. It's not impossible to create two bisexual men however and they have plenty of time, especially for after waiting two entire games for M/M action.

50-ish on the PC, presumably because they're handled inefficiently (if I had to make an educated guess then I'd say that ME2 tries to read all save files during startup)

I strongly suspect it's an arbitrary lock carried over from the console version. If you make fifty saves, then move them to a subfolder and make another fifty saves, then put the first fifty back, the game will let you load that character and any one of those hundred saves, no problem.

On-topic, what's this about f/f-exclusive dialog? When I run a hacked Ashley romance, it's a dude!Shep romance voiced by Hale. (Right down to Ash calling you a man, albeit one with a great ass, if you pick the wrong dialog in the pre-Ilos scene, and femShep picking up a male body during the sex).

And they've said it themselves, romances ARE relatively small thing to do. So really, they could take extra care of gay ones especially after 2 games ignored them 100%.

This. I can take the excuse to have only one M/M romance, but not for one that's poorly written.

The accumulated s/s experiences of ME and ME2 perhaps, If cuts are made and you can bet they're going to made (I've almost never seen any project that wasn't more ambitious in design than actual execution) any and all s/s options with pre-existing characters will end up on the cutting floor first, doubly so for m/m.

I don't think they'll do that with something people've been crying out for since the first installment. The sheer attention this topic's gotten can't be denied without people getting angry.

Let's not be patronizing now. You can see my joined date and registered games just as easily as I can see yours.
And the accumulated s/s experiences of ME and ME2 never came with Casey Hudson's personal confirmation that male s/s romances would be in the game. So the pattern that leads to that experience has already been altered.

Unfortunately they can afford to anger the gaymers all they want since we are an insignificant (if very vocal) portion of the total fanbase. And anyway they're going to provide one m/m option, namely Vega, unless there's another human male squaddie that we don't know about still in the pipeline. However since they seem to be going for a smaller team than ME2 had that last option seems very unlikely indeed.

It's not just gaymers, but a good chunk of female gamers and even straight guys that just want the option. There are only two human males, one that's new, and another that was pre-written as a M/M. It'll be ingame in one way or another.

Well, I guess we shouldn't cry over spilled milk and focus on the future. And ME3 s/s romance is just like the future. Largely unknown.

Exactly one male s/s romance would be enough to keep that promise, besides even that promise can be broken if EA or Microsoft were to decide they want a holiday 2011 release after all.

Technically speaking we don't even know Vega will be an LI let alone a s/s LI.
The new romance could very well be someone who was around but not an LI until now. Joker for instance ^_^ Angelic will never kill my buzz! NEVER! I will hold out hope until the bitter sob filled end. :pinched:

Ah I see so even that's in doubt now. I thought the OP was very strict about there being no doubt about s/s romances... Ah well.

Answer me this though...
If you're so certain Vega is the one and only... why bother having the Kaidan banner in your sig? I mean if everybody else is supposed to throw in the towel and just trust that you are totally right about it and therefore hate Vega with you, why bother supporting Kaidan at all? According to you there's virtually no chance. Seems like a waste of space to me.

I really want Garrus.

But that's as likely as Shepard learning how to breakdance.

Maybe because I hope it's Kaidan but fear it's Vega, or maybe I just happen to like the banner.
Hope mostly exists to be dashed after all.

What a depressing philosophy...

You and Angelic should team up to kill all buzzes.

I'll stick with my suspicions that there will be at least 2 male s/s LI's. My hopes are Joker + Vega but I suspect Kaidan + Vega is more likely. Kaidan +Joker would certainly cover the largest obsessive fan spectrum...
Or they could suprise us all and it'll be Kolyat.

I'm really hoping it's Kaidan, but if it's Vega I can deal, he's muscular at least and his face isn't ugly, as long as his actual character is likable then I'm cool with him being the only one we get.

There's a thread for that.
I can't talk though I dance just like him.
Although I don't think there will be time for dancing with the whole... end of all life. I think priorities should be evaluated if Shep is dancing at all in ME3.
Cut dancing and use the resources to make Joker a romance!

This is me trying desperately to get the discussion moving again while I pointedly ignore the lock-doomed religion debating thread...
Sooo Garrus. I'll admit the idea of romancing Garrus creeps me out a bit. The biology scares me.
Maybe we'll get one human and one alien s/s LI... I think i'd prefer Kolyat (since Thane is probably dead) or ooo maybe Feron will join the squad with Liara! And it'll turn out he had no interest in her sexually because he likes the dudes....

Honestly, of all the males, Thane always stood out the most as being open to men as well. I dunno while, but I always got the feeling that at that point in his life, he would be willing to find comfort from anyone, regardless f sex.

As far as female characters, Tali seems to be the most popular choice. She awkwardly hits on FemShep. Jack is the other prime candidate, but personally I didn't care for her romance in ME2 at all. Felt too rushed, and her over-the-top backstory made me fell that no one person could possibly heal her from all of her baggage.

Of the females though, I think Kasumi would be an interesting choice to be Bi. Mostly because of this

XD Your dancing sucks man. Just sayin'.

I can't dance and get Jokermance? :crying:

Garrus

Kolyat? Oh god no. He'll be all "NO ONE LOVES ME!" /wrists *shudders* No thank you. Feron...? You like the Drell don't you? Their eyes creep me out to much. And Thane has Carth Syndrome. That's more than enough to cool my loins.

I have no real preference for Drell they're just the most human looking of the male aliens. But then they were designed to be aesthetically pleasing. They really are the male Asari as far as fanservice goes.
I mean Garrus is awesome and all but Turians on the whole are... ehhhh... and then the other options are Quarians, Krogans (no:blink:), Salarians, and Batarians? Quarians maaaaybe. Depends on what they look like under the mask. If they have ood faces then I think i will politely pass and run screaming from an airlock*.

(*not because I'm afraid of Ood Sigma's face but because I don't want to die in the Tali Riots)
