And as for mech/vehicle combat that could be religated to DLC like it was in ME2. Bioware uses seperate teams and budgets for DLC so if they go that route again it won't force anything to be cut from the main game at all.

No it won't,  Mech combat at the very least will be in the main game this time and I have a suspicion other vehicles will be as well, see for yourself http://masseffect.wi...wiki/Atlas_Mech,

So I think most, if not all, of the extra development time will be taken up by implementing Kinect for XBox and adding more features (like Mechs and Vehicles) to the combat portion of the game. any extra story and romance options will be last in line on the list of additional things to add in the extended development time, with additional m/m options being the very last in that line and hence the very first to get cut when they are inevitably going to face budget/time constraints.

That's a lot of supposition. We have no idea what Bioware's internal decision making processes are, let alone whether they even have budgetary and time constraints.

Just... hold on to a bit of hope until we get some more confirmation. If you're right, you can totally say "I told you so."

The Atlases are in there yes but vehicles are different. The hammerhead required it's own level design in order to be implemented.
I honestly don't understand why you ignore pretty much everything that was done in ME2. But whatever. You've made up your mind and clearly nothing anyone says, even the developers themselves, is going to change it.
You win.
There will be no s/s romances in ME3.

I don't think "not" means what you think it means.

"Sometimes trolls can be a real ass. Just try to ignore them."

yeah well if having an opinion makes me an ass then then your an ass hole as well
and its a fair compromise u get what you want a gay character and i get what i want no gays in my game i  think an option to get rid of ****** dialog would be a good idea on bioware part i really dont feal like hearing about vega's feelings i just want him to kill **** thats it

I thought we evolved beyond the hunter-gatherer mentality? Did someone skip the last dna-mutation?

I don't think that every character in ME3 should be romance able for both Genders, I think they should take the Kotor Approach to this as in Some Characters could not be interested in Opposite-Sex Romance and vice versa

To whom? The people here with supposed better tastes than the ones who really do like Vega? Or to the supposed masses of heterosexual male adolescent shooter fans whom he supposedly caters to?

So many things to suppose.

I wouldn't mind if Vega is a s/s only character, because it would cool to have such a character, but not because it would make other players 'mad'. Those players are going to be mad regardless, as we have seen with today's s/s troll thread. So whatever criteria BioWare uses to make their decisions, I hope "making trolls unhappy" isn't among them.

Truth be told I am not won over by James Vega's appearance, but I'm going to give the character a chance to win me over with his personality. If he's a counterstereotype that only looks like a stereotype, he might be awesome, and his looks will "grow" on me.

Wasn't the KOTOR approach also "one character is a lesbian and you have to work your butt off to actually get to the romance and even then it's less of a romance than the rest of the romances in the game."
(feel free to correct me. I've never played it. This is just the impression I've gotten from it being discussed in the forums.)

If so, no Sgt. Whiskers disapproves.

I'm so glad the internet is here to tell me that when I sleep with a woman, as a bisexual, it's not completely gay.

My mother will be so relieved.

Eh, I guess your right in kotor juhani's romance wasn't that big.... but I won't get into that becuase thats extreamly off topic, but I still think the idea that Some Characters should have a preference.

Juhani's romance amounts to her telling female characters she likes them, provided they hit all the right conversation buttons for the entirety of the game beforehand and they invoked the necessary incantations to the Machine Spirit to make it actually worth this time. It's not exactly on the same scale as Bastilla or Carth, both of whom the game seems to assume you're playing the gender you are just to get involved with.

Also, they work. Reliably. It's almost as if they made getting Juhani's romance to work as convoluted as possible to smuggle it past LucasArts' "ain't no gays in our universe" detector.

Yes but that could be explained away because she's psychically connected to you, also she could very well be a  bit of a masochist.

As mentioned, Juhani's romance was more of an "easter egg" romance because it was so hard to activate (and would fire for a male character when the game first released) and even then, it might not work.

Then someone in the upper eschelons of LucasArts (supposedly) said, "OMG! NO GAYZ IN STAR WARZ!" and banhammered the whole idea.
And then made cannon Revan a dude....

Which kinda hurts my intrest in TOR, to be honest.

Back on topic. Yeah, Vega's build is a little too.... over the top bodybuilder for me. That edit weith the narrower features I liked a lot more. I DO like the civies in that picture posted earlier, but the poor guy looks like he can't cross his arms infront of his chest.

That's all on an asthetic level, mind you. Can't comment on personality, yet.

its still rather obnoxious though

not as obnoxious as leliena in DAO coming onto me 5 freaking times despite me being a complete bastard to her and telling her im not interested in her every single damn time its even more annoying when shes like "ZOMG I THOUGHT YOU LIKED MEH WHY U SLEEPING WITH ZEVRAN" then get quite possibly the most offencive dialogue choices in the game reguarding homosexuality with her (you pretty much got the "im experimenting" line or "ZOMG I R CLOSET CASE" and no flat out "im gay" line) -_-

Really. Carth falls in love with a DS female Revan. You know those types of people I said I hated? Yeah well you're identical to them (hell you were their original leader that is the reason they're so damn powerful now!) but I want you. I MUST HAVE YOU!

Really. Carth falls in love with a DS female Revan. That makes less sense than him falling in love with a LS male Revan to be honest. You know those types of people I said I hated? Yeah well you're identical to them but I want you. I MUST HAVE YOU!

its even worse when you go DS and hes like "when the time comes Ill save you from your self" then runs of like a little **** leaving a 14 year old to die when she stands up to you

If it's the same one I've got installed, it's totally worth it. The HK-50 factory is priceless.

I never really bought that as an explanation. She is, after all, equally connected with a female character. Which isn't to say "hey, she ought to be a lesbian because of it", particularly. More that I don't see it as a reason for why she's suddenly into a character who leaves flaming orphange wreckage wherever he goes. The whole bond thing can't be that strong, surely.

Well, for what it's worth, it makes the ending passable if still thoroughly confusing and unsatisfying. Which is a monumental improvement in of itself, really.

(Why are my companions scattered around the planet? Why are they trying to face down <that other character> before my Exile gets there? Y U NO MAKE SENSE, ENDING)

Uhm, yes. S/s romances, and all that. See? Totally on topic.

yeah I really dont like Carth at all and it doesnt help his VA used the same voice for Kaidan either (then again I dont hate Kaidan I just find him dull)

edit: also another thing reguarding Vega being buff

since when did buff=stupid again? my highschool math teacher was about as beefy as him(went to the local ymca just about every day) and he was pretty damn smart (though my math teacher was hotter and didnt have that ugly fauxhawk)

...maybe thats why I dont mind vega that much >_>

@cuddlezarro
My high school computer programming teacher was the buffest teacher in the school, AND he wasn't even one of the sports coaches. He just enjoyed lifting weights. He was also a BIG nerd and the nicest guy on the planet.
His last name also began with a T, so we called him Mr. T. ^_^

Heck, you want to crash the steriotype more, check out www.scoobysworkshop.com The guy is a 50 year old dork. Some of his videos are down right silly. :)
Edit: The guy's career is engineering, spending most of his work day infront of a computer, so he's pretty smart, too.

I think most of the buff=dumb comes from the media and experiences. I know most of the jocks in High School were mostly dumb as posts, but got by because they were on the sports teams, so they only maintained the minimum GPA needed to play. That, or they tended to behave like their sports enthusiasm was the only thing that mattered, which made them come off as extremely shallow individuals.
