Zevran betrayed me on my first playthrough despite me being nice and trying to romance him. Apparently, if I didn't go to the ends of the Earth for him, it just wasn't good enough. So the second playthrough I just offed him. And Sten too. LOL.

very very much doubt it

we didnt learn the s/s romances for DA1/2 till like a week or two before the game was released (though isabella was obvious in DA2 since she was bi in DA1)

Nope.

They will never announce them...if we ever find out, we will find out through leaks from people who've played the game early similar to DA2 and other games.

IIRC, Gaider confirmed s/s romances for DA2 in a forum post sometime before the identities of the LIs were announced.

The LIs were announced a month before the game came out but they didn't say who would be the s/s romances (of course, it turned out all were avaliable).

for DA2 I dont really know I didnt keep track of it nearly as much as I did as I am doing this game (found DAO rather average) but I do know same sex romances where a surprise in DA1

Hmm then maybe? S/S romances for ME3 were confirmed long time before game's release, almost 10 months.

Kaidan and James are definitely Top 2 IMO. AT LEAST these two, please BW!

I want james and Hendel from the second novel though I doubt they will include Hendel since he is confirmed gay not bi

my reaction? he looks hell of alot better than he did in the first 2 games (his face always looked odd to me) ...still gonna nuke him given the chance


Ashley on the other hand me and my boyfriend mistook her for miranda (neither of us like either character also)

Honestly? "Zomg BW put Sheploo and Kaidan TOGETHER on an official promo screen?! First one at that?!?! But they've always pretended Ashely is the 'default' Virmire Survivor for male Shepard! OMG OMG What could it mean?! Are they hinting Kaidan & male Shepard romance?! :O" something like that

Oh, that's another reason why I think Vega will be a gay romance option:

Bioware ALWAYS makes Ash the default saved character for male Shepard if you don't have a save file. So it would kind of screw over gamers who haven't played the first game, making them unable to have an s/s romance.

I agree with your prediction though. I'm 100% sure that Kaiden will be an s/s option, I just don't think he'll be the only one.

They said who would be the s/s romances before the game came out. Not long before but they did tell us. I distinctly recall the fury and cries of doom.
Unfortunately the reason I remember the reactions so clearly is because of the surprising number of s/s supportive people who had been with us defending the inclusion right up until the announcement and then flipped and started accusing the glbt players of ruining their game.

It was really disheartening to see their true colors. It was fine for there to be bi characters as long as they were a minority or as long as it wasn't the one they wanted their Hawke to romance.

Those people are why I don't post much in the character threads. They all seem to have those one or two really prolific posters who post something about how they don't like bisexuals but they're ok with people who want the character in question to be bi.
They're never ok with the idea of the character being bi. They're just ok with other people daydreaming about it because they're 100% certain it won't happen....

Oddly, that's exactly why I think that Bioware will make Kaidan a (or the) same-sex romance option: he can be killed! While that can lead to some extremely unfortunate implications, it's not as if the Zevran Knife is unprecedented in a Bioware game.

"Bisexual male character? Oh, I'll just knife him in the throat / leave him on Virmire so I don't have to deal with it."

EDIT: Oh yeah, and new players in ME3 will be able to select their on Virmire Suvivor. Players that started with a default ME2 male Shepard, however... they're out of luck. And rather dense for starting the serious with the second instalment. I shouldn't be denied Kaidan just to accomidate default ME2 Shepards!

haha, I was actually walking around in the mall and I saw a pretty big jumbo size picture of it in a Gamestop and  I flipped out right there in the mall for all to see. XD I walked past that poster multible times before spoiling myself with walking up to it and nearly petting  it. XD I wan't to go back and buy it from them. But I haven't seen it in a while...

I thought about the possibility, but I've been pretending like it won't happen. That would make me rage. If the Mass Effect is really doing what the Dragon Age team did with DA then they need to go all out and not half-ass it.
