Nah I love rejecting Morrigan with the "so get a thicker blanket" line. I could just hear my Warden's deadpan voice.

That said I tend to play DAO with a female character.

The complaints about the opposite sex flirting with the homosexual player I've seen have been mostly been said with humour and no one really seems to mind much.

The people having problems with gay flirting seem to be ever so serious. I wonder why that is.

Again, my Shepard was accidentally raped by Ashley. I laughed it off and reloaded. No big deal, honestly. Then again, I don't see that scene as damaging my masculinity in anyway, unlike some people...

ashley gets blown up on virmire every playthrough both me and my bf have tried playthroughs where we spare her but nope cant freaking stand her

also hearing morrigans "its cold all alone in my tent what ever shall i do" line makes me crack up expecially with how you can reject her with almost equally awful lines

it doesnt get annoying for me unless its like what iu had to deal with leliena...seriously 5 freaking rejections in a single playthrough

Yeah THAT'S something to complain about: persistent ones. If a character comes on to me once and I reject him/her, that should be the end of it. I don't wanna have to reject them eighteen times.

You know what, if my raging ****** femShep had to put up with "I'm more interested in just... talking for a bit" a dozen bloody times if she wanted to be bros with Jacob, you het types can tolerate one damn flirt that he instantly apologizes for and never brings up again from Anders. I am just saying.

Shepard gets come on to. Constantly. By everyone. Liara busts out the "I feel a connection," Gianna kisses dudeShep on Illium, Thane calls femShep "Siha" regardless of conversation, Kaidan and Ashley ninjamance an o/s Shep by default, you do not meet one single asari who does not want to get in your pants (though at least Samara refuses to go through with it).

Why is this only a problem when it's suddenly dude NPCs doing it? If my queer Sheps can tolerate all that relentless heterosexual flirtation, I think straight Sheps can survive a single moment with a single crewmember.

I admit, some of the dialogue was a bit...I dunno.

When playing my gay ManShep Ashley took his friendliness as a come-on so I had to nuke her so she wouldn't rape him before Ilos. But then, that's ninjamance for you lol.

At least you can turn them down in ME2 since it's kinda apparent you are going down the romance track.

And completely agree with Quething.

in ME1 I got ninjamanced by the consort...saying the renegade option in the reward conversation makes you end up in bed with her...which caused me to reload because my shep doesnt swing that way

not angry about it though but I did have a lolwtf face when it happened

atleast kelly didnt turn into anything because I only had dinner with her to get her to feed my fish(which she didnt and they died) and in great anger I turned her into a reaper smoothie for it (well shepard didnt mean too but I did lol)

Why do I absolutely hate the idea of Gay romance? Because we all know how easy it is to occidentally romance your companion. You come to a point when you can't talk to your companions any more because it will result in romancing. And I don't want to accidentally romance a male character while I am playing a male.
I also don't want to accidentally romance female characters that I am not interested in.

A gay guy was hitting on me once and do you know how it feels when you can't even imagine that sort of thing? It feels crap. It really really does. So call me homophobic, but as I said before - you have your same sex romances in Dragon Age and other games out there. Please let me enjoy this one ... I wish it was set in stone when the ME1 came out that Shep is straight. But I think Bioware was aware of the rage it would cause.

I don't ask you for understanding, because I tried being constructive a few months ago about this and you people are so defensive about your sexuality that you won't tolerate someone that just doesn't want that kind of thing. It would destroy my image of Sheppard. A lot of us idealise him as an ultimate hero. I idealise him as a straight hero, is that a crime? Am I not allowed to say that this is what I want? If so, then this world is clearly not my place.

And I idealize him as a gay hero. Is that a crime? Aren't both vaild? Can't you have your awesome, heterosexual hero, while I stay way over here and have an awesome, homosexual hero?

Your idea of Shepard should never override someone else's idea of theirs. That's the point of roleplaying. Your ultimate hero can be as straight as an arrow, others won't be. All are equally valid. 

I don't understand your position, and I can't appreciate it, because I think you're being tremendously irrational. Your personal discomfort is never an excuse not to offer optional choices for other people. Paranoia isn't a reason to deny others satisfaction. 

Not to mention that the conversation system will be improved to avoid precisely what you fear.

We do have that option. All romantic material is optional, and though "accidental" romances have never been a problem for me (seriously, I managaed to run my gay male Shepard through both games without a single ninjamance) I understand that Bioware is aware of the issue and is going to do their best to make all relationship-starting dialogue very clear in ME3.

If same-sex characters making a casual pass at you is enough to shatter your image of super-straight Shepard, I suggest that you take a deep breath and relax. If another man is attracted to you, that does not make you gay. That does not make your Shepard gay. My gay male Shepard has had many women make passes at him, but that does not make him straight. Heterosexual content was never forced on me once, and I'm certain that homosexual content will never be forced on you.

For the record, I don't see how ANOTHER character hitting on Shepard changes Shepard's sexuality. God knows Miranda hit on my Shepard a few times, but it didn't exactly turn him magically straight.

I hope "very clear"  is not going to mean they'll force us to come onto every character we might desire as strongly tactfully as FemShep hits on Jacob in ME2.
I'd rather have accidental romances than being forced to behave like a sexual predator in order to make my romantic interest in a character known. If worst comes to worst I can always just load a previous save and avoid that option in the future.
Also the only time this ever happened to me personally in a Bioware game was when I was trying to be nice to Ashley in ME1, but like I said reloading fixed that just fine.

And that's how everyone with a gay Shep feels when everyone assumes s/he is straight and hits on accordingly, let alone homosexual people that get hit on by straight folks. It works both ways mate.

See as a straight male i dont mind if someone hits on me,whether its male of female. In fact i find it an ego boost, and more realistic.

As long as we have an option to say no thanks im not interested (in a few different ways to make it more of a roleplay?) and then they wont hit on me again, i'd be happy with that.

I'm very confident this is what will be done in ME3 - after all, it's what happened in ME/ME2/DAO/DA2. 

Just the other day I had to say "no thanks I'm not interested" to Liara and Ashley in ME, and it worked well in that they didn't hit on me again.

I think Ashley is a great character, but I always leave her to die because if I don't it is seemingly inevitable that she approaches Shepard romantically and I don't want it to carry over. Is it because I talked about her grandfather or something?

Yes.... Yes we do. We get hit on by people we can't even imagine sleeping with. I do all the time. They're called "Women."
And you know what?
They're called "some women" in your case. There are plenty of women out there that can't imagine sleeping with you, ever. Hate to break it to you but there it is. Not everyone woman wants you.
Yet I'm willing to bet money, proper money I could use to buy shiny things on ebay, that you still hit on women when you go out. I'd even go so far as to bet that at least once you've tried to hit on a girl again even after she told you to shove off. Just in case she was a little drunker or was just playing hard to get the first time.

I think you should be posting in a ninjamancing thread. Please review the OP of this thread, then ask yourself if this in on-topic. I think you'll conclude that your concerns are better expressed in other threads.
