LOL Ok Last Unicorn is probably about the most inapporopriate children's movie ever. And yet when I watched it at age 4 I didn't notice anything wrong. I was a very stupid child evidently.

There aren't enough people who blur gender lines in the world.

I don't even need mods, so you don't have to worry about those pesky pronoun agreements.

When I was young it disturbed me! But my sister really liked it. The Last Unicorn and Pinocchio always left me with a pretty weird feeling afterwards.

Ya no Last Unicorn is just messed up. Like REALLY messed up. Pinocchio wasn't that bad though. Dunno why that one made you feel weird.

Edit:
Sidenote - if anyone finds any good sized gifs to add to my parade of awesome characters at the bottom, let me know.

@AngelicMachinery and RinjiRenee

Eh, as a general rule I identify as my sex and not gender on the internet for convenience sake; avoids lengthy conversation and, 'LOL THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE.' Unless I know the individual terribly well. Or it's a community/discussion such as this one.

That said, no pesky pronoun agreements for me either.

This conversation makes me feel old and too nerdy for my own good.

It's also off topic. So I'm gonna ramble to myself a bit.

I have to wonder about the chances of the rumored (was it confirmed or is it just an assumption?) new female character being a s/s LI due to Liara's presence. Bioware seems to have cut back on the silly "she's not female" claims since it was repeatedly proven to be absurd.

Oh come on guys, you're being much too civil. It itsn't a proper meeting of the queers until somebody starts arguing over "hir" versus "zir" versus "lol that's not even real"

<- total lesbo

I tend to agree that the Witcher's sex scenes are more giggleworthy than anything and pretty tediously male-gaze-y, but I would also agree that there's something to be said for saying "we're going to make an adult game, and be adult about it." I think Jacob's LM works better as mostly implied horror -- certainly it increases the odds that I'll ever be able to bring myself to take the man to jail -- but when you've got people honestly trying to argue that Morinth isn't a rapist, you've obviously failed to make a few pretty important things quite as explicit as they should be.

Oh they better not,  after rattling on for two games about her not being a woman I want them to throw a "Real" woman at me.

If Liara threathens anyone, it's Ashley (or Tali/Jack/Miranda). New female s/s LIs will be there one way or another IMO. But the presence of Ashley/Tali/Miranda/Jack as s/s options depends on how they treat Liara IMHO.

As for new female herself, there wasn't any confirmation. We just naturally assume there will be one, a natural counterpart to Vega as Ashley and Miranda were to Kaidan and Jacob. Some people think it could be that Vilingate (sp?) character that appeared at IMDB

Well, between Liara and Kelly, queer femSheps have at least been moderately well-served (well, Liara at least, I have... questions about Kelly as a character, but she is nevertheless an explicit opportunity for a femShep to express s/s sexuality), so it would make sense to add two new m/m options but only one f/f. But then again, what little word we've gotten from the devs seems to indicate that, in deference to fan freakouts, the s/s options will be primairly new characters. If they wanted to play it completely safe they'd go Vega, new female, Joker, and count on Liara for their second f/f option.

(I hope they won't, but they do seem to have got a bit gun-shy over the Anders thing.)

I don't think Liara threatens anyone when it comes to s/s (or specifically a f/f relationship) - Bioware seem very keen to push the line that Liara and femShep isn't a lesbian relationship. So yeah, I agree that there'll be a new female character.

Potentially that 'Vigilante' person that you mentioned, if I were to indulge in wild speculation I'd presume she was a survivor from Earth (or perhaps Mars?) who has an enigmatic and shady past :P

Vigilante, after all, does refer to a person who takes justice into their own hands, and given what we know of Bioware's naming conventions it seems to fit perfectly.

If they're trying to learn from the... let's just say response to DA2, I predict there'll be bi-sexual women rappelling down from the ceiling and pouring through every door, all of whom are hot for Shepard and only Shepard, but no homosexual men whatsoever.

I say this because Anders calling male characters "scruffy" was apparently an intolerable affront to heterosexuality everywhere. Isabela hitting on Hawke half a dozen times was fine. Isabela hitting on anyone else made her a ****, though.

Double standards are amazing.

And everybody knows it was just a nonsense excuse to explain why FemShep can be a lesbian but ManShep can't be gay. Now that they don't need to pretend anything, I question whether they will continue that.

Ya it's kind of stupid. It's the same in reality. If a girl sleeps around they're labeled as a ****, and if a guy does it, they get the hero treatment. <_<

See I would think it would be the other way around. That the VS will be s/s either way while Liara and [Vega, Joker, whomever] round it out to 4 LIs.
But then with the ME2 squaddies being cameos due to death potential I also have my doubts about any of them being full romances this time around. But it's not something I mention much because talimancers scare me... :crying:

It's not only a double standard,  it's confusing.

Women are considered ****s if they enjoy sex,  but,  we're labeled as frigid if we don't "put out."  There's no way to win sometimes.

Yeah its the difference between the walk of shame and the red carpet walk. I am in college and when a girl walks out of the guys dorms in the morning she gets chuckles and whispering but when I walk out of the girls dorms people are giving me a thumbs up. Okay maybe thats not a fair comparison because I moonwalk my way out while high fiving everyone I meet on the way back to my dorm. :P
