If anyone seriously thinks they are laughing over it being the m/m pairing they need to get over themselves and their persecution paranoia. And I stress the seriously bit because it's hard to tell if some of ya'll are just serious or joking around :P If it's the latter just ignore this post.

Ya it's kind of stupid. It's the same in reality. If a girl sleeps around they're labeled as a ****, and if a guy does it, they get the hero treatment. <_<

It's not only a double standard,  it's confusing.

Women are considered ****s if they enjoy sex,  but,  we're labeled as frigid if we don't "put out."  There's no way to win sometimes.

^^ so true.  I was just reading through a bit, and this reminded me of the old 80's movie War Games, and the line about nuclear war; something like, "A curious game.  The only way to win is not to play."

To be fair...it's like a key and a lock:

A key that can open anything is a great key but a lock that opens for anything is a bad lock. :innocent:

Bad joke that I'm sure you've heard. I'll be quiet.

Bolded for emphasis. The true sign of progress is when no one cares. B)

Here in New York, when gay marriage passed, it wasn't progressive because it passed. It was progressive because nobody here cared about it.

Oh yes, I always like being told that my purpose for existence is to not have sex with anyone but that one special guy. By having sex with more than that one special guy, I am bad at my reason for existence.

In actuality, inserting the key and actually being able to turn it and open the lock are very different. Lots of keys can fit into my lock. Only a handful can actually open it. Most of those other keys are worthless to me. How do I find the key to my lock? I try them until it turns.

Dude. Joke. Don't look so deeply into it - it might stare back.

Though I enjoyed your analogy immensely.  B)

I don't consider racist jokes funny, or even worth mentioning. I don't know why anyone would write a white supremacist joke and then add a disclaimer "omg just joking guyz hehehe!".

I wouldn't see the point of why that person did that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found that offensive. I thought I was being sensitive, but, it seems I wasn't being too ****y all things considered.

You're right that I shouldn't have judged without seeing the video (and if it's indeed David and Luke, or anybody from that team, then there's zero chance there was offensive intent), but dial it down. There's just as little cause for you to demand that people respond only in a certain way.

If they're anything like me, they haven't and won't watch the video and have only IsaacShep's impressions (whether you agree with them or not) to judge the situation by.

Boys have a penis (key) and girls have a vagina (lock).

So his "joke" says boys who try to open every lock with their key are teh awesome while girls whose locks open for every key are worthless.

There are jokes about raping children too. Why don't you tell a few of those, eh? I'm sure it will be a riot.

Oh BSN. You guys crack me up. Honestly; the best medicine to a joke you find distasteful is to throw it back at the guy and then the two laugh at each others expense. Give in to apathy. ;)

I don't think there was any offense meant with the "joke"

There is indeed a double standard for men vs women. I don't support support this double standard and I think the joke was meant to point out how ridiculous it is.

With that said...it is rather distasteful.

Ah double standards.

Like how rape is funny when it's woman on man but god forbid you laugh the reverse. YOU MUST BE A MONSTER.

Granted rape is really never funny but if it's okay to laugh at one version it should be okay to laugh at another.

It has been my observation of people with "keys" is that a "lock" that opens for "anyone" is supposed to be cool but a lock that can only be opened by others is "bad."

Yes people tend to mock/laugh at male rape victims especially if their rapist was a female. "Oh if you got it up you must've wanted it!" :pinched: which...okay that's horrible but then you laugh at the reverse and all of a sudden they're dead serious and go "RAPE ISN'T FUNNY YO!" ...oh so it's only funny when it happens to men?  <_<
