VEGA WILL BE A SAME-SEX OPTION.

VEGA WILL BE IN MOST OF THE GAME.
(BECAUSE HE'S THERE TO SAVE YOUR BUTT IF YOU EPIC FAILED AND KILLED YOUR ENTIRE ME2 SQUAD.)

VEGA WILL BE OUR AMAZING MALE SAME-SEX SAVING GRACE

AND WE WILL FORGIVE BIOWARE FOR EXCLUDING US FOR ALL THOSE YEARS.

.....I will stay positive, damn it!

A boy can dream, can't he?

If this turned out to be true...

Disagree on that a bit. In the end, there still was female same-sex romance, various flings (Kelly, the Consort) and lots of lesbian undertones (Samara, Morinth). Heck, Liara had her own DLC and will end up having basically the biggest romance arc out of all the characters. There was absolutely nothing gay in ME1 & ME2. I would take gay content aimed at straight women over nothing aimed at gay men anyday.

The only one a lesbian gamer friend of mine said she really liked out of that list was Samara and that's just a psuedomance, still I agree with you that even that was more than what we've gotten, ManShep couldn't even flirt with one man in the whole game. But basically ME's romances have only ever been written for the enjoyment of the straight male gamer and any mileage our lesbian have managed to get out of it is just serendipity cause it certainly wasn't written with them in mind.

However I do fear more and more that Vega's going to be only romanceable bisexual male while f/f might not only get the new leading lady but also get the redesigned Ashley thrown in as well.

Yes, In fact he'll be the only m/m option but he is never going to be my male same sex saving grace and if he turns out to be the only male same sex option I won't be inclined to forgive Bioware because my Sheps would still be celibate heroes in the end

important to the plot

Yes but this could actually be the first bit of good news I've had about this game if this means they might also give us Garrus back to balance things out since he's the other fan favourite. Even if he's not going to be s/s romanceable I'd be very happy to get my favourite Turian back.

Ah... well if nothing else I've got IsaacSheps awesome artwork as my office screensaver out of this silly comic con.

I'm going to go ahead and call you out on doubt-shielding.  It seems that you're pretending to believe improbably negative things to avoid disappointment.  Why would Ashley be available for SS but not Kaidan, especially when Liara is already (ostensibly) an F/F option?  You're taking it a bit far, Francis Frownface.

They really should say who will be bi already! Knowing who I can romance isn't really a plot spoiler in my opinion.

Thank you! Now I have another name to give people I want to call a Negative Nancy or Debbie Downer.

Finis just doesn't want to be disappointed again after ME1, I think everyone can understand that. But I'm sticking to my version. I don't believe BW would be cruel enough to take away Kaidan from our mSheps TWICE :crying:

This is how I see it:

Vega: M/F
Kaidan: M/F
Ashley: M/F
Others: remain as they are

I'm not entirely convinced we're going to get a new human female squadmate.  Is there some loose confirmation that I'm missing?

LMAO!

I just hope that BOTH, Vega boys and Kaiden boys get what they want. It would suck if we don't get both. :[

...Is this considered fortunate these days?

When did this happen? Nobody told me.

Well it happened for me when I realized that the hot bad boys make horrible boyfriend material (which honestly a monkey could figure out). Common interests are way more important than looks. Jackpot = common interests and good looks. That hardly ever happens though. Especially with such nerdy interests as mine. XP

Also you forget you're among the nerdiest BioWare fans, so of course we'd be into gamers.

So can i go make a i support "straight" romance thread? Cause if i did i'm sure people would call me a homophobe cause there is already this thread.

Are straight romances absent from ME1 & ME2?

Ya... It most likely would get very negative comments and would be locked in about 2 seconds flat. I don't really see why people would feel the need to make a "support straight romances" thread anyways. Straight romances already exist, and that's not gonna change so it's comepletely redundant.

Go right ahead.

But if you're only supporting one because you dislike the other, I don't think many people - let alone Bioware - would appreciate it.

Arguing against optional content for other people just because you don't like it is ridiculous.

Um, so long as it's a legitimate "Hooray for the heterosexual romances!" thread and not a "Boo, homosexual romances!" thread, you'd be fine.

Because this thread isn't about bashing heterosexuals or heterosexual romances. It's about supporting the long-awaited same-sex content in ME3. Support for one does not equal hate for the other.

Uh... what would be the point of said thread?  "Yay for the heterosexual romances already present?"

I'm just curious.

You can make any thread you think is appropriate, but the Mods might think that the existing heterosexual romances are covered individually by those characters' fan threads. If you want to start a thread discussing new heterosexual romances, that might be a unique topic.

Why feel bad? he came into this thread and tried to complain.
Being a straight guy myself, I can't think of a single reason why you would need a straight romance thread, just sounds kind of bigoted, whether it was meant to or not.

*edit* but very tru siansonea

To be fair, NO ONE should feel attacked in this thread, so if that's anyone's intent, please desist. If someone expresses an unpopular sentiment, it's fine to calmly comment on it, but it's not an invitation to gang up on that person. This particular post could be interpreted in a number of ways, and I'm giving the poster the benefit of the doubt. It is okay to like heterosexual romances after all, I like several of them myself.

Thanks gamer_girl XP Your sig makes me feel like a little kid again :3

I certainly agree with those above saying it's nice to date gamers. There's a big common interest, right off the bat. I've never put any stock in that "opposites attract" saying. If two people have nothing in common, then...what exactly are they going to talk about after the first few days? :P

Haha! No problemo I'm a bit of a Nintendo nerd. ^_^

Ya opposites attract doesn't work well. Probably the reason why people think it does is because that kind of tension is exciting, but if you're looking for a long term thing or even a future spouce - ya it's definitely not a good road to go down. :pinched:
