I do not believe in same sex relationships, but I'm ok with the game supporting it. Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II supported it, and it wasn't too big of a problem.

In my opinion, I would like the option to turn it off, because it does cause problems when you are trying to romance someone else. I have an example in both games

In Dragon Age Origins, I wanted to romance Leliana. She would complain about me not truly loving here. Little did I know Zevhren (I think I spelled it right) was attracted to me. This ruined me and Leliana because we never did complete our romance.

In Dragon Age II I want to romance Merrill. I go over to talk to Anders, and he starts saying he has strange feelings for me, and If I'm okay with it, I say no, and obviously he disapproves.

Like I said, I'm okay with the Same sex romance, but I would like the option to be able to turn it off in the beginning of the game, so I don't mess up my intended romance.

Yea,  except it never worked that way.  Turning down Anders doesn't have any affect whatsoever on the Merril Romance.  Also,  as long as you end it with Zevran it doesn't affect Leilana.  I have no idea how this resulted in you being unable to complete Leli's plot.

It makes me giggle when people say "I do not believe in X" when it's something that happens in the real world. Oh no, does that mean I've been involved in magical, mystical s/s situations? I expect I should be meeting a unicorn any day now.

This is not a problem of same sex relationships. In ME1, Liara was doing everything to mess up the romance with Ashley. If it won't be a man 'ruining' the romance you want, it could easily be another girl. You would then need another option to turn off her as well, even though she's a girl.

There is no evidence that the ME3 romance system will be anything like DAO's or DA2's, so any concerns based on criticisms of the Dragon Age system doesn't really seem to be relevant. In any case "turning off the option" at the beginning of the game is redundant. You already have the opportunity to turn off the option when it comes up.

The fact of the matter is it took me a long time to find out why my romance with Leliania wasn't progressing. When I found out is was being stopped by Zevran, the game was mostly complete. At the end of the game it still mentioned I liked Leliana but I didn't complete the romance.

I'm confused how this is causing problems.

Maybe this will clarify. As a Catholic I do not believe in homosexual behaviors, but as my parishes priest said: we should never persecute people who believe in homosexual relationships.
I'm not hear to hate on anyone, I was just offering an opinion on the matter, because it can cause problems. The option of turning it off seems like a good idea to me. I'm sure there are many who have had this problem. Once again I'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings.

This DOESN'T happen though,  unless you are playing a different game than I am.  I was capable of romancing Leliana/Alistair/Zevran all in the same playthrough.  Romancing one doesn't halt the progress of the others.

For the record, what you are talking about is ninjamances which are not just a problem with s/s romances but with all romances in general. The problem you are saying could have just easily been happening between Lelliana and Morrigan.

Let's leave real-world attitudes toward homosexuality out of this. You're entitled to your own beliefs, but this isn't the place to discuss them. 

The crux of the Dragon Age problem you're having doesn't have anything to do with s/s content in ME3. It has to do with confusing romance flags, i.e. "ninjamancing", and that's a separate issue altogether.

A lot of us didn't appreciate being railroaded into romance dialogue with the opposite sex, either.  You were ninjamanced -- Zevran is capable of ninjamancing BOTH genders, and Anders will hit on Hawke regardless of gender.

No, it is not a good idea because like I've said already, what if next time it happens to be a girl who blocks the romance with the other girl you were after? Will you want to turn off "every girl except girl X" as well?

And MACharlie1 yes you are right it was a ninjamance. As I will not be posting in this forum again, maybe you should only be able to have 1 partner, and when you find out which partner you want, no one else will try to hit on you.
