I don't think people were reading between the lines when Zevran was offering to massage the Warden. 

Which I can imagine happening if 1) No sound or subtitles are on and You aren't paying attention to the animations whatsoever. 

Hey I had no idea that massage meant sex until a couple weeks ago. I asked for a massage and woke up the next morning in cow posture in texas surrounded by sex toys. Some of us are stil catching up on all the cool kid sex lingo!  I am still swore in all the wrong places.

Doesn't help that Leliana's bugged to romance the Warden after her companion quest no matter what the poor warden says.

Though I share the lol at people "accidentally" romancing Zevran. I recall getting annoyed at his constant "is this okay with you?" questions. I mean he even goes "and if the opportunity to go beyond a massage presents itself?" filed with a flirty tone. How can you miss that?

Seriously. The romance characters should have a dialogue early on where you could just tell them you have herpes so the subject of sex never comes up. Sorry, Ashley. You're nice and all, but... outbreak. You know how it is.

Then you can talk to her and actually act like a human being without having her try to move all up on your junk.

I actually thought that Leliana was way worse than Zevran. Here I was, having my Morrimance when Leliana started crying, saying how I'm such a horrible person for cheating on her.

Fun fact, I once knew a group of people that thought you could only have approval with Zevran if they had sex with him. Obviously, they thought it was "disgusting", because dude-on-dude is ick and girl-on-girl is hot.

I actually avoided her romance after her quest when I reloaded by cutting our discussions short with really simple and curt answers. Then I broke up with Zevran, because let's face, my poor City Elf didn't want to marry Nesiara, he wanted to marry his dear sweet cousin Soris. XDDD

It's plausible by Wuthering Heights standards! Plus the in-breeding issue doesn't apply, so it's all just morals I guess. :B

It's kinda like the guys who flip out over Anders' +5 rivalry when you turn him down.  I don't think friendship/rivalry increases/decreases should have had anything to do with the romances but it was only a +5.

Leliana has, in one hundred percent of the times when I wasn't already romancing her, professed her love for my Warden at one point or another and then given her the hurt-face talk regarding her duplicity and how she shouldn't lead Alistair on.

She's an unstoppable love juggernaut. I should consider myself fortunate that playthroughs where I don't romance Leliana are white-rhino-endangered-species rare. Dat voice.

Zevran really like his sex, and Zevran truly think he is good looking. Of course he would disapprove of being turned down, that makes sense to me.

That said, the same logic doesn't really works with Anders, I think. Mostly because his rivalry/friendship is connected to the PLIGHT OF THE MAGES. Unless the lack of gay sex hurts the PLIGHT OF THE MAGES, I don't see why the rivalry points.

Ashley still mystifies me, she's earned my ire for not only ninjamancing me but also acting all friendly one mission after I basically call her a worthless pile of steaming **** for her efforts on Eden Prime. At least when you were mean to Alistair you had to apologize to make the friendship keep going but with Ash, she just bounces back from me not even wanting her on the ship. 

DA2 got it right when they at least split companions interactions between Friendship and Rivalry.

And ninjamancing is the main reason Ash gets nuked. I'd nuke Liara along with her if it was possible.

I thought that was poorly handled, but I agree that it's nothing to worry about when you can get that back and more in a quest or two.

It's irrelevant for ME3 anyway, since the morality meter has never been linked to romances (as far as I know?) and there's always been a neutral way to turn someone down.

Or maybe it just applies for female cousins? Brazil has strange rules. But yes, incest is ew, that's why I only support CarverxWarden.

I let her off the hook, because when I went to make a gayShep run, she had a question where I could tell her I didn't have feelings for her, and it seemed to stick (it was a close call with LotSB; I totally thought she was going to jump him after the tour). But I couldn't find a diplomatic way to shut Ashley down without eventually pulling rank on her.

Miranda also let me shut her down. I could tell where it was going, but I acted like a tool and got out of there intact. Jack wasn't as forgiving, so I eventually had to cut her off.

Somehow he remained pure (of course, none of the ladies will even talk to him anymore). He finally better get his Kaidan after all that effort, though. ;-)

If ME3 doesn't provide, I think I'm going to trash him rather than let him finish out the series. Too much work if there's no reward at the end. :-(

Oh it's all covered in my latest adults only fanfic series based on the City Elf. Still I'm wondering if Kirk will really try to go after Soris again once he returns to Denerim. Hmm... decisions!

I just nuke Ash because she annoys me greatly, she's a cocky, self-important girl who unfortunately got burdened with her Grandfather's action which condemn her based on some archaic sense of pride. Doesn't excuse her from talking back to Shep as stock soldier A (until ME events) when he is already a legend.

Okay I can understand where you'd be coming from, but his personality is a huge turn-off. That said you're giving me ideas and it seems like incest may be common in my fiction very soon. Sooooo not what I was planning.

Yeah, this annoyed me as well.

It seems the only sure-fire way to stop an Ashley romance in its tracks is to rebuke her over her anti-alien comments, which seems really odd. 

I mean, Shepard's just enforcing the chain of command, not shutting down anything romantic. The fact that she then goes on to have all the other conversations about her family and grandfather obviously means she still trusts Shepard (as a friend?) but it's awkwardly done. 

Still, I think BW have learned from a lot of the mistakes when it comes to doing romances, not least because the ninjamancing is the number one complaint that everyone has about them.

Carver is easily my favorite character, right there with Varric. Most people handle his personality by being mad or annoyed, but I just want to give him a hug.

Exactly what happened to me in my first playthrough. That is a true "ninjamance". Not this "misreading signals" nonsense. Seriously, that's Kaidan's job.

That's the most hilarious argument people use against him being available for s/s romance. "But what if he ninjamances my male Shepard OMG no!!!211" He's like the easiest character to turn down ever, he asks you himself if you want to turn him down lol "If I'm out of line, just say a word". He never gets mad and even apologizes for flirting with FemShep if you turn him down xD

The +5 rivalry from Anders I took as an overemotional reaction to being rejected. I mean, the guy IS an emotional wreck.

And +5 Rivalry while trying to friendmance him is TRIVIAL compared to trying to rivalmance Isabella. You have to hit every. single. rivalry. point. Because you have to make up the huge +25 friendship when you make the reqired flirt to begin the relationship.
