With all this hubbub about FemShep lately, it might be good to talk about the girls side of the s/s subject, we've been talkin' about the boy's side for awhile now. Who's everyone's favorite existing LI choice for f/f? And what type of new girl would you want FemShep to be able to romance, if any?

Of course, I think the natural choice for f/f is Miranda. If she's not trying to kill Shepard, that is.

I do have a blonde Shepard, but she's the butchest of all my Sheps, dudes included (and is, interestingly, my only straight Shepard). I also have a redhead, but she's Asian. The closest I can get to anything that looks anything like what I associate with "Shepard" is #4. I feel so untrendy.

Well, y'all know I'm still pulling for Ash, but I do think Miranda makes a lot of sense.

Tali probably has the most canon flirtation built up (regardless of whether the LotSB dossier is a bug, it's there, and they haven't done anything to discount it, either by bugfix or even just announcing anything, so it's canon until proven otherwise), but I'm hoping she isn't our returning choice. Her romance just squicks me like crazy.

For a new girl... main!Shep's type is people like Ash and Kasumi, fun, party-going gossipy types who love people and are very snarky and social, but very compassionate and loyal as well. They're a good balance to her rather oversincere do-goody nature. So somebody in that vein, another person who's not so full of angst and/or "lolbadass" and doesn't take themselves or the rest of the world so damn seriously. She's got the whole rest of the game for that.

I suppose Ashley intrigues me the most. Not because "lesbians are HAWT," but because she is already my favorite LI and I'm curious to see how Bioware develops her bisexuality IF they do.

I don't understand how Miranda could stand to romance either Shepard.... I mean, how do you work on a rotting corpse for two years and then want have sex with it? Just.... ugh, Miranda, why?

At least Jacob has the excuse of "I was just security, I didn't actually help rebuild you." Sure, he saw the initial corpse!Shepard, but he didn't see the progress from corpse to living person, so I can understand how he woul dbe able to disconnect the two. But Miranda saw the whole thing! She regrew Shepards organs and... and.... no, Miranda. Just no.

Aaanyway, I doubt that I can correctly identify the ideal f/f romance for ME3, but I would say... Ashley? If only because I know how badly I want Kaidan, so I can imagine that there are a lot of femSheps out there who have been waiting and waiting to hook up with Ash.

Now I'm imagining Ash flirting with gayShep and Kaidan flirting with lezShep... and the Shepards just look at each other and think, "Can't we trade?"

I wonder if Liara will come out of the closet and admit that she IS a bisexual option.

I agree with Abispa about Ashley but I will have to find out second hand since Kaidan always survives.

Miranda also interests me because I was unhappy how she was so quickly declawed in ME2 which I believe was to make her more "likeable" to ME fans who do not want to have female crew mates who are not groupies. I would like to see her mean streak come back but I fear that if she has a s/s option it will be set up as a "HAWT lesbian" romance.

Tali could be s/s I know but I think my Shepards are too much like mother/father figures to her and I would feel creepy.

I've always felt like once the meat and tubes were "alive", Miranda started to look at Shepard differently. Early on in the Lazarus Project it must have looked like the most disgusting autopsy of all time. But after awhile, once Shepard's skin healed to be mostly intact, I imagine Miranda and Wilson started thinking of Shepard more as a person, and the earlier phase of was a distant memory. And Miranda doesn't just fall head over heels for Shepard, it takes some doing for Shepard to get through her defenses. And I'm sure a living, breathing, talking person is a far cry from a distant memory of a science experiment. I did have the same initial thought of "really, Miranda?" but when I thought about it, it's not that different from a doctor or nurse falling for a patient while they're in the hospital. Many people are in BAD shape when they arrive at the hospital, but once they're close to recovered, it's hard to see them as the horrifically injured people they were at first.

when I first saw Miranda I thought she looked like Michael Jackson with boobs...I still do actually (yes yes I know they voice scanned her VA but to me they didnt do a good job)

Ash or Jack. Ash is hot and she has that whole thing in ME1 where she sounds so flirty when you end a conversation with her. Jack doesn't need a reason, she's just Jack.  I wouldn't go for Miranda as a choice but I will create a FemShep to romance her if she does turn out to be an option.

I would have to start a new Shep for the new LI though because all my current FemSheps are with Liara and spend their free time perving at the Asari dancers in the bars

To be honest though i'd like a Space Aveline. Someone we can flirt with who doesn't feel the same way, but who isn't just a minor character, a squad member would be nice.

@KawaiiKatie: Hah, main!Shep and deathwatch!Shep would certainly happily trade. I don't know how passionately I've been waiting on the Ashley/femShep romance, though; thanks to the magic of hex editing and my compulsive need to mod the everloving hell out of every game I've ever played, I've already had the Ashley/femShep romance a few times, so the absence isn't quite as dire for me.

I've said it before but I do hope they at least give us that, if they won't give us the actual Ash romance -- leave the lines in-game, like they did on Horizon and in LotSB, so that if you import a game with an "impossible" s/s romance flag, you're able to play it out. It's better than nothing, right? And in some senses it may be superior, given that it gives you the whole three-arc VS romance instead of a start-in-the-last-chapter.

Not that I wouldn't happily replay all three games if they do give us a legit last-chapter romance.
