I hear you, that thread was off the charts. I support same-sex romance options in ME3 but as long as every man or woman doesn't hit on my Shep

This thread will probably hit like a bajillion pages when ME team actually reveals the s/s L.I.s.

If they reveal the same-sex love-interests at all! I know that neither Dragon Age game revealed the same-sex love-interests before the game was released--in both case, the same-sex information was leaked. Bioware never officially announced it. They announced who the love-interests would be and that same-sex opportunities would be available... but that was it.

Before Mass Effect 2 came out, there wasn't any word on same-sex options at all. It was neither confirmed nor denied. The fact there have been direct tweets and interview quotes confirming that there will even be same-sex romances (for both males and females!) in ME3 is a huge step above the treatment the same-sex issue has gotten in the past.

...but yes, I agree with you, this forum would explode if Bioware announced which characters would be down for some same-sex lovin'. And it would be glorious. <3

Yeah, I can see this exploding when they announce the s/s romances. If the rumor of the virmire surivivors being bi holds up, then you will have even more fuel for the "debates" on whether that was a good or bad idea. Also expect tons of trolls to show up.

Several pages of hate, off-topic Babylon 5 and Xena conversation, and spam removed. Bans have been handed out. Remember, folks, the forum rules still apply in popular, long-running epic threads, particularly Rule #5. The BioWare Social Network is not a phone or IRC.

I've been playing New Vegas for a week or so (until my game started crashing every five minutes). I assume there's no new information on this topic?

Doubt it. Everyone already assumes Vega and new female will be s/s options and no one would be surprised about Ash & Kaidan either and these 4 are simply the most realistic and expected anyway. If they announced Garrus, yeah, then the forums would explode but it's just not going to happen.

Doesn't stop me from hoping for it, though. (Garrus for s/s LI, not forum explosion, that is).

@ Okay the picture of Samara with Sheploo's rape face is pretty creepy. Shame on you.

@ IsaacShep -- I think it would be WORSE if Garrus is announced as s/s LI but this forum would explode regardless. I imagine a lot of people will be talking about killing off Vega or ignoring him if he were bi or gay and a I do not know how many people I have read who said they do not care about Kaidan being bi since he is either dead in their game anyway or the player can go back and let him die in Virmire.

@ gamer_girl -- I did not kill off Ashley. I just saved yummy delicious nutricious Kaidan. It was a tough choice because I like Ashley but Abispa gets more mileage out of her anyway.

My man Shep doesn't enjoy Kaidan's luscious behind. Miranda and Tali have reserved that oggling. But he's a better buddy than someone who's always like "ZOMG it's Shepard! My sister and I think you're SO hot. Oh and by the way, skipper, I'd like to read poetry to you now and try to get you to sleep with me just cause you don't want that blue know it all in the other room" lol.

All the LIs in just about every Bioware game is just a little too main-hero-sexual IMHO. All the WHINING in Baldur's Gate II gets on my nerves and that elf paladin who falls in love the NWN hero just days after her lover was executed.

I am (not) surprised why people tend to not mind it when that "special realistic and deep" LI falls for the hero like a Bieber groupie. I just find it sad that people who do not realize that their favorite LI has a "fanservice" romance go on to complain about the gay ones.

Even Morrigan is a groupie in action though she pretty much insults the Warden the entire time unless he kisses her butt all the time and buys her presents. That was interesting only because it allowed the player to be a Warden who is a spineless worm.

I've never played any of those except DA:O lol. But ya I think they are too. Hence why I think Shepard should be given the opportunity to flirt first and give the other one a chance to say "What are you talking about?! That's crazy talk... But maybe..." Or something like that. But I loved the Morrigan romance. It felt the most real to me. She had that conflict between fulfilling her plans and possibly losing her Warden. I thought it was interesting.

You don't have to kiss Morrigan's butt all the time. My moral, straightlaced, kitttens-in-trees-rescuing Cousland was completely upfront with her and still got the romance just fine. There are such huge gains for every step of the romance that you actually almost have to drag her out to Redcliffe and ****** her off with charity in order to pace it halfway naturally and prevent her cutting off your sexytimes before you even leave Lothering. No need for non-plot gifts or spinelessness of any kind.

Which works for her. She's the kind of character who makes sense in a friendmance or a rivalmance, as it were. Not every BioWare character does, true, and we've talked about this a lot but yeah, I think it's a much bigger deal to make Leliana open to a murdering Chantry-hating puppy-kicking psycho than to make Kaidan open to a dude!Shep. I guess if you're a hardcore Talimancer, you're already making a character who treats her well and is in sympathy with her views, so you're not going to see the painful incongruity of the romance for everyone else, but...

Garrus works for any Shep, though, since they don't let you be nearly so much a speciest ass in ME2, and I think Miranda and Jack make sense for either RenShep or ParaShep too. I never thought Kaidan worked that well with a renegade, though, and I would find it entirely too cool if they opened him up to dudeShep and closed him off to a xenophobic murderknifing Shep at the same time. At the very least it'd be something we could use to bludgeon people who claim it's not "realistic" for him to like dudes.

I guess it all depends how your Warden is and which quests you bring Morrigan to.

In some ways I agreed with Morrigan's way of thinking and in others I didn't.

The Warden goes through the mirror with Morrigan. Once in her place of power she kills and eats him. When the baby is born she sacrifices it to increase her power in a blood magic ritual. She will be a major villain of DA3.

That is my theory and I am sticking to it.

I have faith in Morrigan's very very inner goodness. Flemmeth will likely be the villain considering she was resurrected by the Champion. I expect the Champion, the Warden and Morrigan will be teaming up along with others to defeat her.

Morrigan has inner goodness, don't ge tme wrong I romanced her and made her melt like butter; but I had no illusions that she was good inside. She's evil with a weakness to my warden ;)

I think she has it in her. She just burries it so deep that it's hard for anyone to see it. Once she releases the inhibitions that Flemmeth placed on her I think she'll be able to realize who she really is. While she'll never be a Mother Theresa, she isn't as bad as she leads people to believe.  Really all she does is not take crap from everyone. She's a very big realist, and I see that as admirable. I agree with her in thinking that the Chantry and the Circle are completely bogus. A lot of people see her as a pessimist and a cynic but that's really just a misinterpretation. She's just a realist.
