Alright folks, this is getting a tad too immature and off topic...

So, lets try to bring this back towards a relevant topic.

I'm kind of curious about how people want the S/S reveal to go. I for one want it to go on with relatively little angst, no "This if my first time doing this..." type dialogue. I just tend to find myself rolling my eyes when things start flowing in that particular cliche direction.

To me, it depends on who the reveal is for. If it is say for Tali, it should still be her awkward I want to link suits-ish dialogue seeing as she is flirting really hard with female Shep and they just don't give you an option to reciprocate. If it is Jack, it depends on how they do her romance again regardless. If they make it the sickeningly Paragon you have to fix the broken bird thing again except for femshep, I imagine it will the same way it was in ME2. Ashley never flirted like Tali or had a bisexual history like Jack so I she may have the I have never done this before, I never even considering being with a woman, essentially flirting with Garrus-esque conversation.

Now back to watching House.

Oh god, please no.   I could live with an offhand mention, like idk, one of her sisters being all "She's a little... curvier than your usual, Sis," or something (to which Ash would probably respond "and yet still the butchest badass I've ever dated" in the case of main!Shep, but as that dialog would obviously not amuse and please every Shep the way it would mine, I can see leaving it out of the game), but anything, anything at all along the lines of "I'm a blushing virgin to this type of thing, you're the first one who's been this special" would seriously put me off the whole romance, and considering how long I've been a femShep/Ash advocate, that's saying something. Far, far too much of that dynamic in Mass Effect already, particularly with the female love interests.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want it to be the whole awkward thing. I would rather it be you flirt with her and she responds just like male shep in ME1. I would prefer her to stay badass and well Ashley. I just don't think the writers are going to do that. They like to annoy me.

ManShep: Kaidan, Vega
FemShep: Liara, new female, *maybe* Ashley

I'm having problems predicting FemShep s/s romances since it' largely depends on whether BioWare actually ackowledes Liara as a lesbian romance for FemShep or not (regardless of the excuses they've said in the past to cover up for lack of m/m romances). If they do, then I *think* new female will be the only other s/s romance as they will consider that FemShep already has 1 romance with old squaddie (Liara). However, if they don't actually consider her an s/s opiton, then most likely Ashley will be available as well, due to the similar reasons as Kaidan - is with Shepard since the begininng, was a permasquaddie and has an extremly simple death variable compared to Tali/Jack/Miranda. And of course the fact they seem to love to treat Ash and Kai as the same character.

I was just thinking this morning, if you would be able to romance Joker, what would EDI say?

Will she get all HAL/GlaDOS-like about it? Or like that Pierce-Brosnan-Computer in that one Simpsons Halloween episode? Will she join the Reapers out of jealousy?

Lots of drama potential in there if you ask me.

IMO, I think Ashley is a way more suitable choice than any of the ME2 squadmates (as much as lesbian Shepard would looooooooove Miranda's ass), because there isn't really any sense of "morality" attached to her character.
I'd have a really hard time romancing Tali (and I hope to God she isn't the s/s romance choice, or if she is, that there's a human as well) as a renegade Shepard (male OR female), just as romancing Miranda as a paragon would be difficult. It just doesn't jive with how I imagine different Shepards with different moral views on life.

Idk about the significance of any new female squaddie. Shepard doesn't need a tech companion to decrypt/hack anymore, and you've got a guaranteed tank in Vega and a guaranteed biotic in Liara, and you're like 99% likely to have Tali and Garrus and have like a 1-in-3 chance of having Kaidan, so there's really no story or combat role that they need a new NPC to be able to guarantee that they're filling for you. And given the size of the cast, it would be simply insane to try to introduce not just one but two whole new fully developed characters and still try to claim to do any justice to everyone else.

Not that that would stop them, I realize, but there's also the marketing to consider. At this point in the press cycle, I'd expect them to at least admit that a second major party member will exist, even if they're not telling us anything about her. So if there is a female NPC, Vigilante or whoever, I wouldn't expect her to be as integrated and primary a squad member as, say, the VS or Vega, and thus not a LI.

Then again, what do I know? I was on the "never gonna happen" side of the all-bi-LI debate in DA2, obviously my powers of premonition aren't exactly perfect.

Really, they are experiencing what could be the End TImes, the parts of religion that is used to terrify followers into falling in line. For all they know, they are about to see exactly how they are going to die.

Which means that they better not bring in some bloody relationship angst! This is the time for passion, decision, action, being BOLD! I want the love interests, gay or straight, to know that they want Shepard and to be willing to go for him or her once their interest is established. There shouldn't be some big reveal, there should be Shepard going to them, and them not hesitating to love back since, when faced with the end of everything, what else is there to fear?

The point is Casey already said there will be "new LIs", in plural, regarding s/s ones, so it means at least 2. And we all know they not gonna create 2 entirely new guys to romance lol IMO, new female bi LI is practically granted. But hey, maybe I'm gonna be proved wrong, anything can happen. Just that I don't find it likely Vega is the only new squadmate.

As for not revealing anymore new characters yet, we have Gamescom and PAX this month, most likely they're saving it for one of these two events.

You may not need a tech but they will probably give you a Sentinel to replace Kaiden if you Virmire'd him like you get Vega to replace Ashley. Miranda will probably not be a permanent squadmate to be that Sentinel either.
