I think we can agree on the following
- no ninjamances
- whatever ss relationships that are in game should be high quality writing and NOT an asspull for the character if it is an existing character.
Now this said, I am going to come out and say I want well written same sex options with characters from the previous games. I would like the option to roleplay through the first two games as FemShepard longing for Tali or Ashley, which I have felt both while playing ME1 and ME2 and being frustrated that they are not available. It would be very rewarding/satisfying to have this come to fruition in the third game if it is well written.
Throwing me a token new SS romance that doesn't have a significant (eg squadmate) past with me won't cut it. I want this relationship even if it becomes romantic in the third game to have its roots in the previous games through an extended friendship. This makes the romance an integral part to the climax of the trilogy.
This also is how I've seen relationships in real life work. Sometimes it happens right away in other cases you can have people that are sure they are friends for 10 years suddenly realize how much they really love one another. The latter is actually what happened in my life.
As a female I want Ashely and Tali. For MaleShep I want at least Kaiden. Since I am not male it is hard for me to think of another suitable male past squadie--maybe Mordin. Or do Joker (and maybe add a fling with Conrad Verner for comic relief to counter balance the Kelly romance>)
Exactly my thoughts, just replace Ashle/Tali with Kaidan for My MaleShep and everything else stays the same and I'm settled. Gonna be really disappointing if after all this waiting I only get a token new guy. We've been waiting for Kaidan since ME1.

I agree. I think it would be kinda amazing if they wrote in a friendship-to-romance story. Maybe even working in trepidation at altering the nature of their friendship. Particularly for Ashley/Kaiden. Reconnecting after Haven not withstanding.

Just imagine that no matter what they do, new s-s romances only/old s-s romances only/ a mix of old and new or even make them all bi a great deal of someones, somewhere are going to be very unhappy with the results. Me very possibly included. And some of them will kick up such a howling and whining as the forums has not seen in sometime. I may grump at first but I promise not to keep at it if I don't get my wishes. I kinda feel sorry for Bioware, damned no matter how they handle it.
You mean like what happened in the DA forums?

It'll be similar. I'm chiefly rooting for the very outside chance of having all bi LI's which would cause the greatest whining from a certain well known subset of posters.. Not that I want all bi LI's for myself, but so that everyone I know gets a shot at the character that they want to romance. It's no skin off my nose. If I had to pick a number one choice of S/S LI for myself it would be Ashley for the gals and Joker for the guys. But if I don't get it I shall grump quietly for a bit and move on while acknowleding it's just a simple case of c'est la vie!

If they do mix of both old and new, with the most demanded characters like Kaidan and whoever the most demanded girl is then 95% of gay fans will be extremly happy and satisfied. Not really that hard. As for the side that is against s/s romances, why even bother? They will complain no matter what and will never accept the fact the world does not revolve around straight males.makenzieshepard wrote...

You do know that the 5% of fans that won't be happy with it are 99.9% of the people who will actually post on the subject right?

If they gave just Vimire Survivor I'd be pretty damn happy although IMHO Tali just screams for a good blossoming romance story given the way she expressed admiration for my FemShep in ME2. That just really tugged at my heartstrings. Please Bioware, let one of my FemSheps love for Tali be fulfilled.

I got fuzzy feelings during the paragon hug. And Tali's giggle at the end of the "linking suits" talk made me go, "Hey, did she just get flustered? Damn you Fox News!"

We wouldn't have the whole world be BI but those of us who enjoy same sex would get some meaningful and fun romance options.
PS: I'd make the Conrad easter egg for both genders since it would be in the same category as Kelly.

...Mordin's asexual. (and doesn't seem to be aromatic either). Plus he actually rejects Shepard.
Change that Mordin to Joker and I'm game.

With all due respect, there's very little demand for Mordin, if not zero lol. And Conrad easter egg would still have to be developed, takes time. Realistically speaking, 2 options for both guys and girls is absolutely max we will get.Aurellia wrote...

Regarding the sex scenes, I would rather they go "ME1" or go home. I'd rather not have another repeat of the ME2 awkward camera angles and dry humping in clothes again. God those were awful
Agreed..except for renegade Jack. If that was with a femShep, that would be soooooo HAWT!!!

Change Mordin to someone else (I'll throw in a vote for Joker or a new M/M), and I'd die of happiness!

I'm not attached to Mordin. I just couldn't think of a good option for a second male ss. I'd love to see Joker if that is what the guys want. I think that's a great choice.
Mordin is a great friend, but yeah not interested in Shepard or anyone...at all.

Everyone can romance who they want already. If I wanted to romance Garrus or Thane I'd play a femshep. If I want to romance Miranda or Tali I play a maleshep. Some people want to romance Joker, Anderson, EDI in a android body, the asari councilor, Mordin, Hackett, etc. etc. Where does it end? At what point do the developers just concentrate on making a great game and not an intergalactic dating simulator. Why can't they just make deep characters and maximize their dialog instead to sacrificing resources so that a handful of people can enjoy their choice of virtual blow up dolls.

Yeah let's remove FemShep since everyone could just play ManShep. Same logic.Dayshadow wrote...
