All these stereotypes are making me angry. Not all men are like that. I know I'm not...even though I'm a boy, not a man.

When you grow up, you'll learn not to get upset about everything you don' disagree with... If you do you'll just end up with ulcers.

@Ryzaki, @Quething

You've both twisted my words. I reflected my own beliefs, I never said that was how Garrus felt.

That may be but Garrus has yet to illustrate that he is attracted to turian or human males. I never once said Garrus couldn't be interested in men, but I also said that Garrus has done nothing to illustrate that he is.

Simply because he's willing to engage in a romance with a human female that he doesn't find all that attractive does not mean he'd be interested in romancing a human male.

FemShep is not treated the same and the male Shepard and this is undeniable. Just look at what Garrus says to both male and female Shepard's once he's on the Normandy, or how the Batarian treats Shepard when he or she wants to track down Archangel.

Garrus may respect both Shepard's but it doesn't mean he views them exactly the same.

Garrus treats fem and male Shep EXACTLY the same save one line. ONE LINE.

Seriously? He treats them majorly differently? Even though he...doesn't?

And FemShep gets treated differently sure. By people that are not Garrus (other than that one line). He expresses no interest in FemShep, doesn't spare her his ranchier jokes (reach and flexibility convo), takes her word as seriously as he does male Shep, doesn't treat them any differently save that one silly line. And yet he somehow is for some reason thinking female Shepard and Male Shepard are so different from one another that a romance with only femShep is possible? Even though unlike every other male LI there's no difference in his and Shep's intereaction (save that ONE line) until the romance starts?

I didn't say Garrus treats FemShep differently, I just said he might view them differently. Hence, why he romances FemShep and not male Shepard.

If you view people differently you're gonna treat them differently. It kind of goes with the territory. (which is one I headdesk at Tali's "platonic" feelings for FemShep where up until that convo she's treating Fem and Male Shepard identically. She even keeps the same dossier!)

I don't see why people are so opposed to the Garrus romance for man Shep.

He's served on a crew with Turian women and fought one, and then wrestled her later...in private. I think he's going to treat women equally in terms of them being soldiers and comrades at arms. Which Shepard is. Sexually though we are talking about something completely different. Respect and admiration does not necessarily mean you want to wrestle someone in your private quarters.

Once again, I never said I was against a Garrus romance. All I was doing was pointing out a flawed argument.

A particularly hilarious line, IMO, since I have exactly no femSheps right now who don't have facial scars, and several of them have relationships with women who aren't krogan. But that's sort of tangental to the point, I admit. Anyway it's definitely perfectly readable as either a "bro" line or a romantic one (in marked contrast to Jacob's "better man than I" line, which was obvoiusly written with straight, potentially Miranda-mancing dudeShep in mind. And is incidentally perfectly fine grammar, just deliberately formal/archaic - like saying "to what do I owe the pleasure" instead of "why are you here").

The two reasons I see tossed around are this.

1. They don't want their bro to hit on them. This is a stealth romance issue not romance option issue, but its still tossed around.

2. They are against characters to change their "orientation." That debate has gone back and forth enough so I won't outline it here.

He doesn't want to wrestle femShep in her private quarters. She's not a turian, she's not sexually attractive to him in any way, and he says as much. You might as well say it matters what gender a hanar is to a human's sexual interest. It's a jellyfish. You're not into it for its supple curves or manly six-pack.

FemShep isn't a female turian. Garrus wouldn't treat her sexually period. >_>

Edit: Dang it Quething said it better than I ever could.

His whole romance is about him doing it only because of his respect for Shepard (due to them being soldiers and comrades) a respect that would be the exact same with male Shepard.

All Garrus cares about with regards to Shepard is personality. And possibly the whole dominance thing - dunno what he finds attractive. Didn't he say he thought humans were ugly?

I know that they don't and can't have sex. The wrestling line was just me fooling around.

All they do is bump heads, I know that. But if she was a Turian we all know they would be doing more then bumping their heads together.

The romance is more then respect, it just grew out of repesct. If it was just about respect why bring up a bottle of wine? Why is Garrus trying so hard to flirt with Shepard? Why is Garrus all dressed up? Why the mood music? It's a romance, but with their DNA a physical relationship isn't going to work out, so Garrus did the best he could.

I'm pretty sure they can.. and do have sex. And I'm sure she was really chaffed afterwards. :?

Garrus is trying so hard to flirt with Shepard because Shep brings up sex first. (You'll notice the romance starter line is a sexual innuendo).

He brought up a bottle of wine because he wanted to calm his nerves and set the mood. Dressed up because it's a typical thing to do when sleeping with someone.  He wanted to give Shep what she wanted (and most likely after a while of extranet fetish sites began looking forward to it himself ). Nothing about that is impossible with male Shep because we never see him reject male Shep...heck male Shep never even makes an advance like FemShep does.

And I'm pretty sure they had sex...FemShep just had to avoid...ingesting.

Lol The sexy clothes is more to make sure he gets laid in the first place. Kinda like on Bridget Jones when she wore granny panties so it kept her tummy in so she'd look sexy enough to get laid, but she didn't think ahead to when Daniel would actually start taking her clothes off and see those monsters.

Ah. I thought it was just head bumping. I've never done the romance myself, so I've only see the conclusion. I thought if they had sex it would be fatal or something because of the DNA so I assumed the head bump was as far as it got. The chaffing sounds painful.
