I must have played a different DA2, because at the point where I had to turn him down, Anders was only partially wackadoodle, and the only responses available to his moderate come-on were "I don't want you thinking of me like that!" and something else that I don't remember.  It felt harsher than it needed to be, given how the rest of the dialogue went.

The man had just gotten the Hawke family into an ambush that resulted in the Hawke mage killing dozens of Templars in the Chantry. No small thing not to mention Anders revealed himself to be an abomination. I thought the Hawke line was very realistic.

Hawke's diplomatic options in that convo are just weird. "Oh you being a abomination is totally cool man! It only matters that you made that decision with a true heart!"

Turians don't have boobs. Although I hate the comics depiction of them, they don't have any there either.

Chris Priestly visited us WAY BACK and pretty much said that if it were up to him there would be NO LIs in the ME games.

ALL the previous LI and romances have had facepalm moments and can really stretch credulity to the breaking point, and that's why I take issue with s/s critics who DEMAND that any s/s romance be handled realistically. Realistic compared to what?

Been catching up on the last few pages - what is it with dudebros and Garrus?

I'm amazed. Nearly every single time opposition comes up, it relates to Garrus. Just Garrus. He's the perennial example of paranoid fears about characters.

I'd love to do some investigating as to why he comes up so often. Why do dudebros feel such a connection? Why Garrus and not, say, Zaeed or Thane?

One theory that I have that MAY cover SOME of that opposition is that the dudebro player thinks s/s (between guys) is GROSS, and that a Garrus s/s relationship will set such a new standard for GROSS that it will finally confirm that Bioware and EA have been taken over by the "Pink Mafia."

I seem to have detected a growing acceptance that Kaidan will be s/s, as well as an increase of passing insulting comments of how wussy and whiny he is, he was abandoned on Virmire, and good riddance. It's kind of like, "There, I'm gracious enough to give you gays Kaidan, now leave everyone else alone!"

As for Thane, I think most dudebro gamers aren't big Thane fans. Arguing with Thane's fans (not because I want to but because they take offense that I'm apathetic toward him), I get the sense that his following is predominantly female. And Zaeed was DLC and I don't think anyone seriously thinks he'll be an option for ANY romance, let alone s/s.

Those are MY conspiracy theories, and I am commissioning Jesse Ventura to do a crappy documentary detailing it with some lousy video and horrific voice overs.

I do NOT want the "dudebros" to NOT play and enjoy ME3. I want them to buy, play, and ENJOY the hell out of it WITH the s/s options NOT being hidden by some ****** toggle so they can see that they were worried about nothing. If they want to abstain from buying the game out of homophobia then good riddance, but I really am hoping they will find ME3 to be GOTY quality.
