There are no obstacles for love only new opportunities for the adventurous.

There'll be *something* in there.

The 'who, how and why' is interesting, if only because it might indicate that some of the options requre an explanation.

But it's still too early to say, and I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions...

At best anything we speculate on will probably be wrong or misinterpreted, and at worst it can lead to a lot of disappointment when things don't happen the way people expect they will.

Thinks of that recent hawt Garrus/manShep pic, going near Garrus' mouth doesn't need to involve getting up close and personal with his manibles...

i think there should be like an option for the same sex romances before you start the game so that you wouldnt get all of your favorite squad members like garrus or thane to become suddenly gay. that way people that want the same sex relations can have them and those who dont wont have to go through the game getting hit on by all your homeboys. i have no problem with the same sex idea but they should make sure that the players can make it clear what they want when starting up me3

I'd imagine Garrus's teeth are more cause for alarm than his mandibles.

Y'know, I've never really found this 'I have no problem with X, provided I don't have to see, hear or interact with it in any way, shape or form' business all that compelling.

Was there a toggle for turn off Tali's hitting on Shepard in ME2 for people who didn't want to be hit by their lil-"sister" and felt she suddenly became heterosexual after being asexual in ME1? No. Why? Because it's stupid. Why? Because the fact Tali didn't talk about her attractions in ME1 doesn't mean she didn't have these attractions and the fact she revealed them in ME2 was simply part of the progress in her story. The same will apply to Garrus, Than or anyone else.

So if I play a gay male Shepard I should have a toggle that turns off the desperate horniness of all the female characters and keeps the camera off all the close ups of Miranda's ass and Samara's boobs?

You know, I don't think this thread shows enough love for lesbian and bi-female supporters of this thread!

How about MORE close ups of Miranda's ass and Samara's breasts, ladies?

How about marveling at the incredible PC/Xbox360/PS3 graphics during the extended shower scene starring the returning goddess of sex and destruction, Ashley?

How about Jack showing just how bad ass she is by taking on a horde of husks completely naked? And female Shepard lovingly massaging Jack's aching muscles later on in her cabin?

How about female Shepard walking out of her shower and discovering a nervous and excited Krogan princess waiting for her?

Maybe Tali could let female Shepard borrow her Turrian claw-hammer back massager and offer to show her how it works?

You messed up with Samara. She is Asari and does not count as s/s.

I don't think a toggle will even be necessary. Bioware has stated that the romances will be responsive to players. This could mean any number of things, but I read it as Bioware learning from the (undeserved) DA2 backlash. It's a pity. I'd like a wide range of options as far as romances go. Shepard shouldn't be the only one initiating them. Alistair was fun in that regard.

If they included such a thing alongside an otherwise absurd s/s toggle, I'd actually be willing to take that hit. Occasionally, I just want to hold a conversation with Miranda's face without her bending over a desk. And I say this as someone with both a fondness for both ass and breasts.

That's right, Bioware. You've made both tiresome for me.

@ lazuli -- IMO the "no initiation rule" should only apply to the returning squad members who have gone through the last two game without flirting with the Shepard of the same gender, or in the case of Joker, either Shepard. New character like Vega, the "Vigilante," and the Krogan princess should be able to flirt if it fits their personality.

Maybe Bioware should have Vega sit on a sofa whenever he's talking to Shepard. Leaning back slightly, right arm on the arm rest, left arm stretch out along the top of the couch, right leg on the ground, and left leg up and stretched out on the seat. Then the game camera could be parked about three feet away from his unit, showing a sizable bulge in his pants.

Actually, that's my running Mass Effect s/s joke. Asari are OFFICIALLY not s/s LIs. I screwed it up when I mentioned Samara, as Chun Hei pointed out. I am ashamed.

You know what I would like? In Assassin's Creed sometimes you can click the left-button of the mouse and change the camera's focus during cutscenes. I wouldn't mind if we had it, but only if we could use it to appreciate Vegas' muscl-- ah, the beautiful worlds the Bioware guys must have made.

I definitely count Liara as a s/s romance...  unless we're talking about having it count towards how many s/s romances there are in-game.  I don't want them to add only two femals s/s options because "there's already one in the game!"

I fully support your desire to check out a character's body.

I know that it may be too much to ask for, but I would love to see different body types in this series. Boitics should be very thin (according to ME lore, though I don't know if that applies to non-humans); soldiers, especially front line ones like Ashley, should have an athletic build; and support crew should have "normal" bodies.

I think that in "reality" the characters DO have different body types, but in game all the characters have to use the same animation. I mean, look at Grunt. When he first comes out of the tube he TOWERS over Shepard, and he's in the background. Yet in missions he is only noticably bigger than Shepard and they have the same eye level. Tali seems smaller in some cinematics but is the same height as male Shepard in other cut scenese.

Unfortunately, a free cam during cut scenes would never work for Mass Effect considering the amount of "hidden" tricks Bioware likes to pull with them. They constantly remove a character from a place then teleport them to another or have them fall through the floor - Jacob's romance scene comes to mind. They are VERY specific.

Cool. I already have a straight thing going with Ashley, but if she's available for s/s in ME3 I'll probably send my J-Lo look-alike Shepard in after her.

Because Liara is not same sex, remember?  She's mono-gendered and therefore gender neutral and not feminine in any way.
