ah okay, thanks for answer. I'm a bit surprised, because Miranda was so important in Mass Effect 2 instead of Tali and Garrus and those are in the squad again, but okay...maybe it's because bioware want the same number of aliens in the party as humans are in there.

Yea, I was never really a Tali fan, If Miranda is not a full time squad member she better  at least have a few quest were she is a temp memeber lol

If a guy softly brushes my hand, THEN I will think something's going on lol. If he slaps me on the ass or something like that then I will just assume he's joking around with me. Seriously, don't you think soft, gentle brush is more telling/intimate/erotic than a big slap on the ass you've done countless times with your friends (of any gender and orientation) just to mess with them?

Lol But that is my point exactly.    A soft gentle brush is what I would have expected to at least have a hint that Kaidan was digging my Manshep during the first game.  There was none of that, thats just why i find it odd to all of a sudden he can be s/s now.    Now I think about it, If Kaidan slapped my Man shep on the ass and then winked at him, I'd know he was into him!

And all of that (no one's permanent, characters jump in and out, come and go) doesn't make any sense with what they've said eariler - smaller squad to focus better on the characters. If characters jump in&out, come&go, then there has to be tons of them to have your party slots filled with the constant rotation.

That's why I ain't really buying anything anymore, they're contradicting themselves. Personally, I think VS, Vega, Liara, new female + Prothy & perhaps another new alien will make the core squad, Tali/Garrus optional as major squaddies and the rest only temprorary at most. The 'no one's permanent' IMO means core squadmates may leave for one mission or two but will still be in for like 90% of the game.

Urh, why would he do any of that when he thinks Shep is straight thus giving any sings is pointless since Shep ain't interested (in his assumption)? It's already part of the story that Kaidan thinks Shep is straight so.

Personally, I think we hear little about some of the other squadmates is because, they are going to pull something like the Archangel thing with Garrus, i.ie. you come acoss them when you don't really expect it and they don't want to spoil anything, again.

Now *that's* a great idea. I loved the Archangel reveal.

Keeping a lid on that would be difficult for Bioware, but well worth it. Especially if said characters show up just in the nick of time to get Shepard out of a sticky situation.

Ehm, I have a question. is it official now that Miranda only plays a small role in the game and that she's not in the permanent squad again? Tali and Garrus are confirmed, but does it mean, all other characters from Mass Effect 2 aren't available? Of course, there are too many characters to have all of them in the squad again. But is it really official, that Tali and Garrus are the only characters from ME2?

I think Legion is also perm since he really has no where to go and is always in contact with the Geth.

You guys are both right, Kaiden never drops hints to  Shep, and  he doesnt not drop hits to Shep depending on how you look at at.

well, at least the rumor that every permanent squad member is a love interest (+ romancable by both genders) would be finally away then. ^^

Man do you have any idea how hard that is to animate? Getting a hug to line up halfway believably in a game like this sends deskmonkeys into conniptions, and there are a thousand more places and camera angles you can use to cheat a hug to look halfway decent. You want a subtle hand-stroke, you are looking at weeks of blocking for even a handful of frames. Ever noticed how the characters in Mass Effect never actually touch each other outside of full-on cutscenes and quicktime events? Remember how totally awkward Shepard's shoulder-pat to Nef's mother was? Notice how you can't hug Tali with a heavy weapon equipped without her hands going right through it? Trust me, this stuff is not simple. Oh, how I wish it were. :(

Expecting subtle hand-gestures as definitive proof of a character's attraction is kind of like asking for an actual, readable issue of Fornax in-game. I mean, sure, they could do a whole bunch of new rigging for the hanar model and spend months setting up little vignettes to screencap, or even swing by the Image offices and hire some hapless comic artist to draw them all out instead. But, like, that level of work, for something which is that far from being remotely related to anything that's actually a priority for the game? Unlikely, to say the least.

Personally, I think that advocating for any particular character does a disservice to the fight for the love campaign. It was never about dreams of specific fan fiction becoming reality, but dreams of inclusion. To feel cheated that you don't have a 'trilogy romance' is almost an insult, especially considering that few companies do as much as Bioware when it comes to issues like this.

An insult is the fact that the decision to cut Ashley & Kaidan's gay romances from ME1 was made based on popularity and economics reasons.

I read that with Kaidan's "Commander?" voice in my head xD Hot Posted Image

I think it's fine to push for specific characters. It gives the developers an idea of where the interest is. This attitude smacks of "be happy with your table scraps." I think it's kind of unrealistic to expect any player to do that. Because it never hurts to ask.

I was reminded of this. They should swap out Kelly Rowland for Sheploo in boxer briefs...

It's less expressing who you'd like or prefer, and more about being disapointed if it doesn't turn out to be them. It just seems unappreciative to me, which doesn't make it very inviting for other companies to follow suit.

Hm I don't know...it wouldn't make much sense to have Vega and the new female squad as romanceable characters when they are just temporary team members, since you have to get to know them at first. And this takes time.

I imagine that there will be at the very least three characters who will always be available since there is a chance that only Shepard's squad and Joker were the only ones to survive the suicide mission. I doubt that ANY of the ME2-only characters will be availabe for new romances, straight or gay, since logistically it doesn't make sense to spend that many resources on a character who may not even be alive. I do expect them to acknowledge a continuing romance from ME2 though, similar to LotSB.

The only exception I see to the no new romance for returning character would be the VS since it appears that s/he will be available for the entire game.

Just to make it clear, when I say I don't think ME2-only characters will be available for s/s, it's because of logistics and NOT because I have any moral qualms with s/s or feel that I am some sacred arbiter to defend the game against *gasp* retcon. If Bioware decides that it WILL make the entire cast available for s/s relationships I will be genuinely happy for the players who want their s/s Garrus or Jack.

I've never demanded that previous characters be "turned bi;" I have argued that IF Bioware wants to do so it would NOT be a game breaking retcon more grievous that other retcons Bioware has done already throughout ME2. Bioware is well within its rights to only make new members available for s/s romances, just as it's well within their rights to not meet my demands that my Shepard be allowed to go mano a mano with a Reaper, naked, armed with nothing but a chain saw.
