Mac Walters (ME3 lead writer) has responded to a question on Twitter about re-romancing ME/ME2 characters.

Question:

Is it possible in #ME3 to romance characters that WERE available as LIs in ME1/2 but we didn't romance them back then?

Answer:

Good question. The answer: Some, but not all.

Wow he actually responded to this question (I asked him this after Casey ignored it like 10 times xDDD)

So it seems I was wrong. VS & Liara will most likely be re-romancable if players didn't do that in ME1. Unfortunately, it also means new s/s romances will be copy + paste job from o/s re-romances :/

My current fear is a Genesis v2.0 comic where you simply click "yes, please" on the LI of your choice rather than having the opportunity to start a new romance with someone in ME3.

Unless the new romancing is purely s/s?

I mean, it's possible through the Genesis comic to engineer an o/s with Kaidan/Ashley anyway, or players could just replay ME1. There's no legitimate means outside of modding to do that for an s/s romance. 

Even if the re-romances are for both genders, I'd tend to think Bioware wouldn't just do an exact copy and paste. 

Remember Hudson's lines about the writers wanting to maintain consistency and believability? There'd probably be some unique dialogue for that.

I really don't think so. I specifically worded it to make it clear I was talking about options that already WERE available to us (Ash for mShep, Kai for femShep, Liara for both, Miranda for mShep etc). At least I think I worded it correctly to not leave any doubt what I was asking about? :/

Let's hope so but I ain't getting my hopes up for something much different than copy + paste based on other BW games and the fact how many romances they have to prepare for ME3 anyway...

I have seen a few s/s Talimancers on this thread but not many for Samara. Some have said they WANT to romance her but respect her choice to be celibate. I hope that the s/s female LI fans are not being driven off my the enthusiastic s/s male LI fans.

Well, the male fans have more to be excited about; they've been deprived for two whole games.

I support a Samara romance if one comes to pass, and think it would be fascinating.
