Male SHEPARD: [Purring] So, Garrus, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind... planning some future battle strategies for a bit.

GARRUS: Can this wait, Garrus? I'm kind of busy here doing some calibrations.

Mass effect should do what dragon age did, say you romanced fenris, he showed his support and love of hawke by tying a red clothe round his wrist and the hawke family insignia on armour, merrill showed her love and support by donning a unique piece of armour. What do you guys think? Also if you romanced someone, they should sprout out words of love for Shepard during combat, instead of 'I will destroy you!' you could replace it with 'harm Shepard and I will kill you!', this effect tells the player that their LI does care and worry about their safety. I know some will disagree and possily throw hate at me but it's just a suggestion, one that benefits BOTH same sex and opposite sex relations.

All nice ideas, adding some more benefit to romances than just 'teh sex scene!'. The question is will BW do anything like that? It is additional work to do and considering how much basic romance stuff they've got to create, I kinda doubt they will go as far as to create unique combat/other doaligue lines if you romance someone, as nice as that would be.

This. In DA2, one of the moments that made me feel like the LI really cared about Hawke was Fenris' "I am yours"....I was like  did he just say that? It was great. There should be things like that in ME3...don't have to be many, just a battle cry or ambient comment that reflects the status of the relationship.

When does me 3 come out? I think it comes out in March if I can recall, still a long way to go and still time for changes, like I said it benefits all genders and immerses people more in the game. Hearing Garrus or liara say something during dialogue where Shepard is threatened and your in a relationship with one of those two, they could step in and shove or grab the npc and threaten or warn them.

Not for adding content though. They're already in final production and are only working on what was planned to this point. Casey said he couldn't even add himself to the game at this point in production. So if the ideas you're talking about were already planned, they will most likely be in the game. But if they weren't, then unfortunately it seems there's no chance they would pick up this, or any suggestion now.

Oukey. In ME1 Ashley practicly forced herself to relationship with my male Shep. Akward for me and it made me think about my behaviour. A lot.
Now, i think all i am looking here is a simple guide how not to get into ss situation in ME3.
Not having conversation options wich leads there, well lthank you! And how i am suppouse to know what thous conversation options are!? I have no freaking idea what are the "ss code words" This is going to go so wrong, ouch.

But i have an idea.

Can we have ss conversation options Painted Tekst PURPLE. It would be easyly recognized. Would it be possible? I would realy like not to have thouse "traps " in game.

You cited being ninjamanced with Ashley. Why does the text only have to be purple for S/S romances? Hmmm? <_<

1. There's no magical, secretive s/s "code" that you need to worry about.

2. You said it yourself, characters hitting on Shepard awkwardly is a problem for many of the romances. Having to turn down five separate characters over two games when roleplaying a gay character isn't exactly fun, either.

3. Bioware have said they're working on reducing the ambiguity of all romances for ME3. I see no reason why s/s content should be treated differently just because some people are uncomfortable about it.

Agreed, a better idea would putting in an interrupt there:

Paragon: "NO ****** BRO!"
Renegade: "I've hade enough of your disingenious assertions!" *Shepard Pawnch*

Hey people, I had a discussion with IsaacShep about s/s and it was off-topic there so I thought I'd ask here.

Before I do however this isn't me wanting to start the debate again, I've (and I'm sure most of you) have heard all the arguments for and against anyway. I just want to see what the general consensus is here.

Are most people here in favour of Bioware making everyone s/s romance-able? or are you of the opinion only certain old character and or new characters should be romance-able?

Again, no heated debate wanted, just want to know which is your preference.

Garrus, Joker and a new guy...preferably Vega or someone who's gonna be in the squad the whole game or close to it.

@Davie...For ME3, there are just too many LIs, and from the info available so far it looks as though certain ME2 LIs such as Jacob and Thane might only have small roles so developing a convincing new romance storyline would be impossible. A mix of old and new s/s LIs would be best such as the VS, Joker, Kelly, the Vega guy and a new human female f/f option would be best.

I actually would prefer Tali as f/f option instead of Ashley but there's so much controversy regarding alien romances being retcons (except Asari, they make sense lore wise) that...whatever makes the most people happy, I'm fine with. I have beloved Liara already so don't really care about the f/f options.

If I could (or have to I guess, since I would rather everyone was bi) choose the S/S romances it would be:

Men:
Kaidan
Garrus
Vega
Joker

Women:
Ash
Tali
Vigilante
Kelly

(No Asari listed because their technically not women it seems:whistle:)

Do we know her name yet? I was pretty sure she was confirmed as a squadmate for ME3. If this was debunked let me know.

Ah, no. All we have is a stunt-actress name who lists Vigilante in her credits.

Shame, I feel stupid now. I thought that she was confirmed somewhere, oh well.

One person per gender opening up is acceptable, but everyone simultaneously and suddenly being open to a relationship would just be too hard to accept as genuine progression of the characters.

I agree with the idea of having less ambiguity with flirting and starting/continuing romances. But, I'd want it to be cross-the-board, not just s/s...

I actually prefer the everyone is bi stuff, because then I can pick based on whose character I like best, instead of whose character I like best within whatever gender I'm going for.

But, I'll be grateful if Garrus and Kaidan were m/m romances. I would have totally romanced Miranda and/or Tali in ME2 as fem!shep, so that's cool too.

If I had a magic wand, I'd magic Kaidan as my m!Shep's one true love through ME1 and ME2 as well.
