Eh why the hell not. It's not as if I am interested but it aint gonna happen unless you make it happen with conversation choices. However one thing i hatted with me is it was impossible to further a platonic relationship with a possible romance partner. They always ended up trying to get in youre paints. And then getting miffed when you turned them down. If this is included i want a branching relationship with a choice at some point to display romantic "interest" after which if not flagged the relationship proceeds without romantic interferance. Since I really dont want to have to be fighting my entire crew off with a taser stick.
Yeah, in DA2 there are some people that threw a fit because Anders made a small hint at a romance with a male Hawke, without the player initiating. I think the ME crowd by take an even greater offense to Vega hittng on their Shep through casual conversation. They need to adopt the DA2 system and have the romances separate, from the rest of the dialogue, its a better dialogue system anyway and it avoids situations like that.
Or people could get over it? Someone comes onto you and you're not into it: turn them down. ~Realism~
In all seriousness, I'm all for the DA2 system being adapted to ME3 for the ability to have clearly marked dialogue options and, especially, for the ability to have platonic friendships with your party members that don't completely shut down because you don't want to bang them.
But I have very little sympathy for people who complain about things like the situation with Anders in DA2. You basically had to choose the nicest, sweetest most forgiving dialogue option with Anders every single time even when he was doing completely ridiculous things for him to come onto you. Shock and surprise, when you're really kind to someone, they can sometimes... develop romantic feelings for you! Even if you're not actually attracted to them! Why I've never heard of such a thing in my lifetime as a queer woman.
No... wait...
I think that the options for
Shepard's intentions should be marked like in DA2 so that you're not accidentally actively flirting with someone (i.e. most conversation options with Jacob for FemShep in ME2) when you're just trying to be friendly. But I think that how the characters react to you, whether you flirt with them or not, should be based on their personalities. If that includes the odd person here or there being into you if you're really nice to them (or hey, really mean; I don't know what they're into) even if you haven't flirted with them, then so be it.
