I know you probably don't care, but I have something to say. Recent events in my life have substantially changed the way I see things, homosexuality included. I'm sorry for being an ass in the past,it shouldn't matter what sex you are as long as you love each other. But understand me,I'm still not 100% comfortable with it,but please give me time and I'm sure I'll get there. Anyway,I also wanted to apologise to anyone I might have offended and let me say something I should have said a long time ago: congratulations people!

I think I can speak for everyone here when I say we're glad to hear this, thanks Ghost Warrior!

You

Leng. Kaidan and Ashley are indoctrinated Reaper sleeper agents and
Kelly will try to assassinate me. Though that last one I'm kind of
hoping for. [smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie]

MACharlie1, I'd have to say, I think it would be awesome if Kelly was a sleeper agent or something like that, it'd give her a lot more character, plus she would possibly know the weaknesses of your team and allies (squadmembers from ME 2) since I am assuming she went all psychologist on them. Honestly, that would be a really interesting turn of events, in my opinion!

Much appreciated.  I think a lot of us have had one of those moments when we realize that love is the important thing.  And then we spend a while kicking ourselves for how we acted/thought about things before.

This absolutely made my night. Slow clap of approval, mate.
Only awesome people have the guts to apologise. Good luck with carrying on.

Also!
Gosh-darnit, I've been lurking  and spying on you people for way longer than is considered healthy/polite/socially acceptable.
Just wanted to point out that even though I wasn't all that interested in SW:TOR before(I was stuck in "I'll listen to some reviews first, before I make my mind up"-ville), let's just say it's stumbled down the list of interesting things.
I'm also a tad disappointed that they won't release any information on the romances for ME-3!
Some people want to be spoiled!

Or wait, that's not...
That's not what it's...
ANYWAY!

Keep on growing!

I know right. It'd even give Chakwas a chance to take a level in badass if Kelly decides to go after our dear friend Joker.

There's a traitor. Shepard is away. The lights on the Normandy go dim. Kelly is on the loose and is out to kill Shepard's mate to frame Miranda/Jacob. She has Joker in for the kill until our dear Doctor steps in; she isn't about to let some Varren-humping hussy kill her adopted son. BAM! Bedpan to Kelly's face.

Other than the fact that it will be in it? Nope. For some reason Bioware is always extremely close-mouthed about s/s romances and who will be available as s/s options until the game actually comes out. People were speculating about Dragon Age 2 the same way.

OH, THIS.

I can even imagine Chakwas saying it in her voice, too.

Kelly raises her gun, points it at Joker and just as she is about to pull the trigger when suddenly she feels dizzy and her arm goes limp as she then drops to her knees, the pistol slipping from her numb hand as Chakwas stepps out from the shadow of an alcove in the ship and picks up the gun and presses it to Kelly's temple.

Kelly: W-what?
Chakwas: You think I didn't see what you were planning, you think I didn't know? My god, I've served with Shepard since Eden Prime and you think I wouldn't notice the signs? The indoctrination process must have sped up, your brain turned nearly to mush for you to even think this plot would succeed.
Kelly: You ****- what did you do to me?
Chakwas:  Rordia, it's a drug often used by Batarians, unfortunately, it has a distinct neuro-toxic effect on humans. I laced your dinner with it... and a slew of other medication, a veritable cocktail, and while almost tasteless in small doses; Sergeant Gardner cooks so badly that I was able to administer a full dose without you even noticing. It would be a slow death but I took a hypocratic oath, and I take that seriously; I take care of my patients.

Chakwas face is blank except for a brief frown that appears as she pulls the trigger.

Okay... significantly less humor in that interpretation.

Paragon Influence Chakwas = Bedpan?
Renegade Influence Chakwas = Guns and drugs?

xD

I just... don't get Kelly. I cannot figure out... is she supposed to be a serious character? Is she one giant in-joke? Is she simply a mechanic to remind you to check your email and give you loyalty quests, with some random extra crap tacked on to try to make it less obvious?

But I do remember some tweet or other that you'd be able to continue a Kelly romance in ME3. Which suggests to me that they're going to take at least her romance a little more seriously in ME3, if not her herself. And I will be dismayed, because they will count that as an f/f romance and therefore not implement a new one that's respectful and well-done from the start. And it will be Liara all over again only worse, and I will be once again reminded that my sexuality is an inoffensive joke that has as its sole purpose the tantalizing and amusement of straight males.

(The nice thing about being a pessimist is that at least I'm never disappointed. The franchise's history doesn't leave me good odds for being pleasantly surprised, though.)

I think Kelly is there as subtle commentary about sexual harassment in the workplace.  Male Shepard + Kelly = creeeeeeepy.

She reminds me of the Political Officer in Babylon 5 “Voices of Authority".

It's not so much that. So long as Kelly follows the safe, sane, consensual standard and doesn't interfere with the operation of my ship and crew, I heartily encourage her to do whatever she wants with whoever she wants (though I have issues with the stripper dance, on the Female Superhero Costume Principle). I'm not into ****-shaming and it irritates me that the game itself kind of is. It's more... her "psychological insights" on the ground team are, well, I'll be kind and leave it at "facile at best," and the writing ties her professional interest to her sexual interest so completely that it's pretty much begging you not to respect either. Plus there's that whole drell memory thing after the endgame. I just can't imagine that we're actually meant to take this character seriously. I mean it really doesn't appear that her writers did.

I always considered Kelly to be a little something on the side for players who wanted to remain loyal to their ME1 LI and still play around in ME2. My suspicion was strengthened when I purposely had an affair with her and then played LotSB and confirmed that Kelly is the one person you can sex without Liara snapping at you.

Still, considering you have to be a single Shep to get her private dance at the end, I don't see her as just a side thing.

And awesome Sunnie. :wizard:

Lol I didn't know that. I kind of agree with you though.

Side question:
How do you use a different picture as your avatar?
By that I mean one that isn't in the BW set ones, as many of you have done.
