He said he thought he'd heard something about it from Bioware, which leaves room for him to be either misinformed or to have misinterpreted what Bioware was saying. I certainly wouldn't take it as any sort of guarantee - it would be really unfortunate if people got their hopes up purely based on Sbarge's line and then were disappointed in the final game. 

That being said, if we take Sbarge's comments as well as half a dozen other little pieces of evidence, I'm prepared to say it's quite likely Ashley and Kaidan will be s/s romance options in ME3. Not confirmed, but reasonably likely to happen. 

There'll also be other new squadmates and characters, according to Bioware.

Well, if you look at Casey Hudson's Twitter time line, he did announce s/s not long after announcing that there would be no new LIs.  That's when everybody went berserk thinking ME3 would be like DA2.  Then BW changed their minds about the new LIs. However, I do recall Casey saying ME3 would have the Ash/Kaidan, Liara, Shepard triangle again.  Here's a whole rundown from Game Informer.

I don't understand it.  I've heard so many people complain about this and yet I just played that scenario using the "I just want to be friends" line and it killed the potential romance dead in its tracks. My Shep was all alone at her locker.  I'm beginning to suspect a bug.

this happened to me, too. it isn't how it played out in my head, but on the upside, there are some really cute screenshots of shepard, kaidan/ash, and liara to be had in the "3s a crowd" scene

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, in that playthrough I also shot down Kaidan, so both romances could have been cut and the game recognized it.  With another femshep I romanced Kaidan, but shot down Liara by accusing her of being obsessed and chose the “you obviously don’t know anything about humans” line on her. (That’s the line under “I just want to be friends”).   With my broShep who romanced Ashley, he also accused Liara of being obsessed and insisted the relationship remain professional.  So, I’ve never used the “I just want to be friends” line on Liara while romancing A/K.  I know Sage is on a PC (all the great modding she does) and if it also happens on the X-Box, with so many people having this problem it has to be a glitch.

The dread really set in when Liara started talking out of nowhere like she was about to lose her virginity. And then Shep gets dialogue option, "You've never done this?"

And all I'm thinking is, "This? Wtf is this? We were just chatting."

So I go into denial, reload my save to just before the conversation, and get on with the next 7 hours of my game, all the while ignoring Liara completely and hoping against hope she won't appear at the lockers. But as many before have come to realize, she is one indomitable little chickie poo and as such, despite my every hope and dream, Liara did, in fact, appear at the lockers.

Y'see, I have this weird feeling Bioware might block gay content in ME3 based on whether or not a specific Shep has had past hetero relations. I know, it makes zero sense, but that never stopped them before. There comes a point you just have to assume ignorance. I shouldn't have to, but I'm playing it safe.

Hey everyone!! I just came back from my honeymoon with my brand new wife. Thus I'm outdated concerning s/s. Any new info? if there's even something...

I just realized, if the rumors about Kaidan s/s are true, and since I don't wanna lose my modded m!shep's playthrough, I'll have to change his sex via save editor ala gender reassignment.

So I'm going through ME3 with two bi and one gay m'sheps and a lesbian and a transgender f!sheps lol. Everything but straight m!sheps!!

No.  I'm on PC too. Like I said, weird, man. 

It's very possible that the s/s in ME3 will be like the mini-romances that were supposed to be in ME2.  I think Ken (The engineer) was supposed to have a crush on femShep, but it got cut out.  And Kelly was supposed to do more than feed broShep's fish.

I don't personally think it's going to be "hidden" per se. It does sound like Bioware's riding the whole Equality Train when it comes to marketing, what with FemShep being on the Collector's Edition and whatnot.

But eh, I could be mistaken.

The renegade no for some reason is bugged. (which is even more headdesk inducing because I believe Shepard says something likehe finds her disgusting) apparently Your kind disgust me = I WUB U!  

I play on PC though. So maybe PC exclusive bug?  All I know is my Shep got ninja'd. And i was creeped out because of how often he insulted her .
