and religion is the main reason why homosexuality is so controversial.

No it's not.  Homosexuality has always been controversial in human history, long before the advent of Christianity and Islam.

Yes it is. Abrahamic religions in particular. Try to tell "homosexuality was an issue/controversial" to ancient China, Greece/Rome, native Americans. While of course there were ancient non-Abrahamic tribes/states that didn't approve of homosexuality, there were also tons that didn't have any problems with it just like I quoted. It didn't start with the global domination of Abrahamic religions that homophobia became so widespread.

I think any tolerance of homosexuality in many of those areas was... selective. I'm fairly sure that Greece didn't like lesbianism at all.

with lesbianism its more there are not that much in the way or records of it there are some that have been found that point at it but there is not as much as evidence as there is for homosexuality

I suspect this is skewed unless it also takes into account a noticeably greater percentage of bisexual women.

Well, there are more bisexual men and women than there are gay men and women, but yes, bisexuality does seem to be more common in women than in men, while homosexuality seems to be more common in men than in women.

In either case, the statistics that I've read did take bisexuality (of both sexes) into account.

The rate of homosexuality/bisexuality in the two sexes is one of the strongest arguements for there being a biological component to same sex attractions.

There have been (and still are) limitations placed on heterosexual relationships as well.

True, but the point was, that homosexuality has a LOT more limitations placed on it when compared to heterosexuality.

while it had limitations there was some degree of social acceptance till the church and then it you could be put to death for it

heres a qoute from the bible

And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them

plus we know the church kept parts that they wanted from the bible and threw out others I would not put it past them trying to get rid of all evidence of homosexuality

but anyway we are way of topic

Okay, prove that it was always this way.

Look up Lex Scantinia.  A pre-Christian Roman Law.

It's not.  So.  How about them possibly bi squadmates?

Well you can't really prove such a thing, at least not scientifically.  I can only enumerate the evidence.

The strongest evidence being that marriage between two people of the same sex has only recently attained a measure of acceptance; and only to a small degree World wide.  Also, the comments from various ancient sources such as Plato, when he said,"Homosexuality, is regarded as shameful by barbarians and by those who live under despotic governments just as philosophy is regarded as shameful by them, because it is apparently not in the interest of such rulers to have great ideas engendered in their subjects, or powerful friendships or passionate love-all of which homosexuality is particularly apt to produce."

In this case, you have a well known ancient scholar commenting on how homosexuality was viewed outside of Greece during his life time.  There are many such examples, a long with laws such as Lex Scantinia and other limitations placed upon homosexual relationships..

The males I'd like to see bi are:

1. Vega
2. Jacob
3. Kaidan

Of those three, I'd find Jacob's bisexuality to be the least plausible.  But he's my favorite LI, so I'm torn.

I don't care much for alien romances, but there are obviously people that do.  I doubt I'd pursue a SS Garrus or Thane romance.

I'm doing my sixth playthrough of ME2 currently, and my very first maleShep. The announcement of m/m spurred me on, so besides almost getting ninjamanced by Jack I'm remaining single until ME3. However, I think Thane would have been an excellent m/m choice and it gives me the sads that he most likely won't be a BI option in ME3...based solely on the fact that, I believe, his illness will take a precedent in the third game over possible new romances. Hope I'm wrong, otherwise it'll be Vega or Kaidan. I don't get "that vibe" from Garrus or Jacob, but who knows?

Just them, honestly. I'd be very happy for others if characters like Jack or Tali turn out to be s/s options in ME3, but I most likely wouldn't try their romances.
