Yes it is. Abrahamic religions in particular. Try to tell "homosexuality was an issue/controversial" to ancient China, Greece/Rome, native Americans. While of course there were ancient non-Abrahamic tribes/states that didn't approve of homosexuality, there were also tons that didn't have any problems with it just like I quoted. No it's not. Homosexuality has always been controversial in human history, long before the advent of Christianity and Islam.
with lesbianism its more there are not that much in the way or records of it there are some that have been found that point at it but there is not as much as evidence as there is for homosexuality
