The one saved from bandits by Feynriel when he dreamwalks into their minds and makes them kill each other. But she doesn't reject you so much as not notice.

Ashley just asked my manShep if he was still interested in her, baggage and all. There's no "not interested in you" option. What do I do?!? I'm panicking! Is there any way to shoot her down when she comes into the captain's quarters?

Even if you choose every dialogue option synonymous with "**** off" at the the locker scene, you guys will still almost kiss. And you can tell her you don't want her sex, but she will still be in a little framed photo in your bedroom in the next game.

You always have the luxury of exploding her, if push comes to shove.

Ew. I don't think so. Even if you two don't do the nasty before Ilos, the game still recognizes it as a completed romance. :pinched:

Virmire. Nuke her. Literally.

Also, I'm playing the 360 version, so no save game edits! D:

Actually, if you drive her off at the lockers with successive Renegade responses, it should flag the romance as incomplete for ME2. You're only completely screwed with Ash/Kai if they come to your quarters before Ilos. (Liara I don't think you can get rid of at the lockers, so you're boned on her much earlier.)

But either way, you can still edit your Xbox game with Gibbed. You just need to do some finagling. There's a guide here on the forums.

That said, yes, at this point it'd be simplest to Virmire her.

Just straight up renegade responses, right?

I can confirm this much. Also, good use of the word "boned".

It's worth a shot, FoxHound. Fill us in on what happens.

Just a heads up: you can edit save games on the Xbox using Gibbed. It's quite an easy process, all you need is a USB and some software.

I even imported an ME save into ME2 then edited it to include an mShep/Kaidan romance - it works pretty well aside from one or two missing lines of dialogue with Joker post-Horizon.

Yeah I'd nuke her.

Make sure I don't get stalked.

Ash/Kaidan: "Oh that night before Ilos!"

Shep: "...that night I asked you to leave? What about it?"

I think I successfully told her to f-off at the lockers. Will be doing the Ilos mission tomorrow, so let's see how this turns out.

Also, I have no idea what how this Gibbed program(?) works. I'm scared of doing anything to my 360 that might get it banned from Xbox LIVE. D:

^ It won't get banned, unless you use it to exploit achievements or something.

Believe me, tens of thousands of people* have used the save editor with no problems.

You just move the ME2 career savegame onto a compatible USB (I use a spare 20GB HDD and a transfer cable because none of my USBs work), put it on your PC then use two pieces of software to extract the save file and then edit the values inside it. Then zip everything back up again, put it back on your Xbox HDD and load the game in ME2.

Editing things like resource levels in ME2 (no more planet scanning!) and credits take effect immediately, but changing the ME plot flags (i.e. what the game thinks you did in the first game) requires you to trick the save file into being a post-suicide mission one, then doing a New Game+.

It's very easy, takes about five or ten minutes. Here's a link with a step by step guide: http://social.biowar...3/index/2277020

(Note: Chris Priestly's disclaimer is just that if you edit your savegame to something crazy or nonsensical, there's no guarantees as to how the game will react. I don't know what changing the 'romanced' flags to Ashley and Kaidan and Liara would do, for example. If you keep it to things that could actually happen, or are catered for in the game files - mShep/Kaidan works, for example - then it should all work fine.)

Edit: *that number is completely made up  But I used it, and it's very useful.

Easy way to avoid romance with Ash, doesn't require killing her.  In the very beginning after the incident with the beacon, just choose the neutral option.  The romance kicks off if you choose to say "it isn't your fault, you had no way of knowing what would happen."  I've got several play throughs with no romance and I didn't have to kill anyone to do it.

P.S. this also works with Kaiden.

I dunno about that Valdrane78. One of my Liaramancing femShep's tore Kaiden a new one for getting too close to the beacon and still got the confrontation scene with him and Liara. She wasn't especially nice to him in other conversations either. I think if you're still give him some paragon replies in other conversations after that it can set the flag back to romanceable. ME1 really could have used some heart icons at times.

D:

It's actually possible to turn both romances down early on in the game, it just takes some very specific dialogue options you probably wouldn't recognise as such. Don't have the topic with them bookmarked on this computer, though, will look if I still have it on the other one. All I remember about turning Ashley down gently is that it involves a dialogue option that prevents her from calling you skipper the rest of the game.

Edit: Ah, found it. ^^

1. Ashley - In the first conversation with her, when she questions having aliens on the ship, choose the middle-LEFT option on the dialogue wheel. From then on, the conversations progress as it would for a female Shepard. She'll call you "Commander" rather than "Skipper."

2. Kaidan - In the first conversation with him, he'll apologize for rambling. Pick the bottom-right option on the dialogue wheel. From then on, the conversations progress as it would for a male Shepard. He'll end his conversations with "Commander" rather than "I'd like that."

3. Liara - In her second conversation with you, she'll ask if there's something going on between you and Ashley/Kaidan. Tell her that you're just friends. Then she'll ask if there's something between you and her. Pick the middle-right option that lets her know you're not interested in her in that way. She'll call you "Commander" rather than "Shepard."

Credits to Nilfalasiel and Pacifien.

Yep. I actually like Ashley but every time I've had to sacrifice her because of this or just avoid talking to her altogether. In fact on one playthrough I think I spoke to her about twice and then ignored her for the rest of the game to avoid her romance and she still showed up to the captains quarters.

It is. It's ninjamancing of the worst kind. What kills me is that the straighties keep complaining about the m/m option possibly coming on to them in ME 3, meanwhile we're stuck trying to beat Ashley back with a baseball bat. Heaven forbid you pick any of the nice options because she will basically rape you. No, sweetheart! Asking about your family history isn't a euphamism for "I want your va-jay-jay!". D:

I really want to save her too. Her family history makes it logical to me that she's the one to save. Her becoming a Spectre later on would make her previously black listed family very proud. I like Kaidan, but I have no reason to save him outside of the fear that he might be the only m/m option (which I would seriously slap every Bioware employee for; not that I don't like Kaidan, just that if we off him in the first game, it's pretty unfair to make him the m/m romance option).

Ash ain't really as bad as Liara. Liara has a bugged dialogue in which an explicit "I'm NOT interested in you Liara" bottom option results in Liara thinking you want sex with her.

@Foxy
Why don't you just save Kaidan? :P Make him compete with Vega boy for your ManShep's heart in ME3 :D And you'll get rid of Ash romance at the same time :wizard:

That's just plain mean! I know you love Kaidan, but if Vega is in the picture for my manShep then poor Alenko won't even stand a chance! ;]
