However... Vega... post-repeal of DADT... as an alliance Marine... and, based on the Conviction mini-comic, a total bad ass... yeah... I actually really like that idea and would celebrate the decision with a toast.

If it's a Kelly Chambers-esque romance, however... you know what... I don't even want to contemplate that kind of disappointment. So... about Mr. Vega's hair...

I am sure bioware did say that kelly will be back and if you invited her to your room for a dance it will mean something in me3 where romances go I have a feeling there will be more s/s options for femshep than male shep

I did not so much mind the kelly romance the only thing was she was way to easy she should have at least made shepard work for it

My femshep did work for it damn it !! she saved Kelly's life from the collector base:blink:

Score booty time in cabin mmm :D

Just to add: Bioware have strongly, strongly hinted that there'll be other romance options and LIs available outside the Normandy. The quote from Hudson was something like romance options didn't necessarily have to be on the ship.

Even if a fairly major character isn't a squadmate, doesn't mean Shepard can't romance them. Not to mention the possibility of even more new characters being rotated through the squad as the game progresses. I don't believe they'll stop at Vega and the new female.

End result? S/s romance options won't be just one character. I'd say two, maybe even three or more. For each gender. Pure gut feeling, but something I strongly expect to happen. One, probably two squadmates as LIs (depending on when you rotate them in and out of the squad) and an unspecified number of other options floating around the universe somewhere.

Twitter or interview?

I hope that if there are going to be romances outside the normandy that they have as much dialogue and cutscenes as a normandy romance. So far I'm not too fond of the idea, since I really like that we can have our LIs along with us on missions in the previous games. I haven't even considered romancing Kelly because of that (other than I find her a bit...strange. I don't know why, I just think there is something wrong with her psychologically XD).

Possibly the fact she trusts you implicetly the first time you meet her.  I sometimes like to mess with her head and tell her I'd drop her.

Hahahah, I haven't tried that. I don't know, something about her just screams 'daddy issues' to me. That's the impression I got, at least :P

I *think* it was Twitter. Might've also been an interview.

It was either Hudson and/or Walters, but I definitely remember it.

They weren't willing to specify who the LIs were in ME3 but did say something about romance options not necessarily being on the ship.

Ah, just found Hudson's tweet: "Love interests won't all necessarily be permanent squad members in #ME3 . Interesting new things happening in that area."

http://twitter.com/#...607879346356224

Also, on new characters for romance: "ME3 will have relationships with new characters and old friends, some of it romantic. Beyond that, spoiler territory!"

Yeah, I love how vague he is about the whole thing  XDDD.

"What are the permanent squad members-"

"NOTHING is permanent in ME3."

"Yeah but which squad members are-"

"NOTHING is permanent."

XDD

It might be. Just curious why does it seem more like sexual harrasment to you with a maleshep over femshep?

Patriarchy?  The creepy male boss harassing his female employees hits close to home historically.  There's less of a precedent set for same-sex harassment, although I'm certainly not saying it doesn't occur.

I'd have to play through the various flirting conversations again to fully form my opinion, though.

Well, that totally sucks for PS3 users. which includes me, should some of those LIs happen to be people that you met in ME1 and appear in ME2 because by default in ME2 those people don't appear in the unless you transfer a save from ME1 where you interacted w/ these people. ME:Genesis was originally created for PS3 users to introduce PS3 users to the the game and allows the player to make to make six major decisions from ME1. If any characters like Shiala, Gianna Parsini or other people that survived ME1 are LIs in ME3 then that would automatically preclude PS3 users from being able to have access to these people in ME3.

^ I doubt they'd disadvantage PS3 users in that way.

Are Gianna and Shiala in ME2 for PS3 users?

Plus, it's always possible that the non-squadmate 'encounters' are just opportunities for Shep to flirt with characters, similar to what DA2 lets you do on occasion. I highly doubt there'd be random sex in the middle of a mission.

It's always possible that some characters will be static and remain at one location while still being major parts of the story - returning to see them after a mission might unlock some new dialogue, or something. That's as valid a romance as any in ME/ME2, except that they aren't on the ship and can't be used in combat.

Or they could be new characters entirely.

How about a stress-relieving casual encounter after one? You meet Gianna and Shiala on a hub world, after all. Nothing says you're doing anything urgent at the moment. And even a galactic war has downtime (though even if it didn't, that wouldn't count it out of ME3. I don't know how it still makes me laugh when people go "THERE WON'T BE TIME FOR ROMANCE/PLOT/MINIGAMES/SIDEQUESTS IT'S A GALACTIC WAR" like they've never played an RPG in their lives, but it does).

Though it's true Mass Effect has not really been a franchise that encourages players to have a lot of casual sex. (Tricks us into it, maybe, but even that's just the once.)

I read the Gaidar's books Calling and I found the best possible gay- option- Nicolas. If man like him was in game, My MHawke alway choose only him.

The only old friend (outside of the squad) I can think of right now (and is male) is Joker.

Yeah, possibly - but is there a female equivalent who is guaranteed to be alive?

I think they'd probably try and be cautious (treading on eggshells, so to speak) and make equal m/m and f/f options. Also something tells me Joker won't be a romance option at all, but it's more of a gut feeling than anything concrete.

It is my understanding that options not covered by the comic tend to default to the renegade side of things. Wrex is dead, the Council was allowed to die and Udina was installed as human councilor, Shiala and Rana Thanoptis are dead etc...

As a masculinist I find that highly offensive.

Nope. No one from ME2 that wasn't integral to the ME storyline appears in ME2 for PS3 users, although, I imagine that if Xbox and PC users started a new game in ME2 w/o importing a saved game from ME1 will encounter the same thing. It seems to be treated as if Shepard never met these people or something.

Unless they introduce brand new NPCs in ME3 that are romanceable that hang out in certain locations, otherwise NPCs like Gianna, Shiala, Conrad Verner, etc. will not be making an appearance in ME3 for the PS3, just like they didn't appear in ME2 for PS3 users.
