I mean, yeah, he's pretty far down my list (behind Kaidan and Thane and Zaeed and James Vega) BUT I definitely wouldn't reject him if he showed an interest in male Shepard. "Dem Abs" ain't nothin' to sneeze at....

But the epic booty just doesn't make up for how BOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIINGGGG he is! If he's anything in bed like he is in personality, then it's probably not worth it anyway.

I just can't appreciate Jacob as a character. It's not like he was shallow or anything, I mean he did have a solid back story and all (plus a nice back lmao nice pictures lazuli), but I just can't picture any of my Shepards with him. I tried to romance him once with a femShep, but his talks never kept me interested so I can't imagine the romance being any different. I picked Thane instead; he's just so much more interesting to talk to.

i have been thinking, the new female squadmate may be a human due to the fact that the highest number of squadmate slots seems to go to humanity.

ME1: 6 squadmates, 2 of them humans
ME2 (vanilla): 10 squaddies, 3 humans
ME2 (with DLC): 12 squaddies, 5 humans

This is just the pattern i have discovered, so don't mind me. but i might be seeing that the new squaddie f/f romance will probably be human

plus we probably won't see anyone from ME2 in our squad except Garrus and Tali

I ended up romancing Jacob completely by accident with my **** renegade infiltrator. I thought she was going to go for Garrus, because loyalty is a big, big deal for her and she hates Cerberus with the fiery passion of a thousand dead thresher maws. But she kept flirting with Jacob just to mess with him (again, an **** who hates Cerberus), and fell in love with him completely by accident.

It was weird.

Jacob is the only ME2 LI who does not need Shepard to hold his/her hand and help him/her find some self esteem. In the world of ME2 that made him incredibly exotic. Not to mention that he let my Shepard vent which is always a plus.

And epic booty is very important. And epic chest. And epic...

Edit: Now that I think about it, I have three gay Shepards, but one I modded so he could romance Kaidan in the first game and I don't know if the save is going to be playable in ME3 so I've just been focusing on my two gay unromanced ones

That's actually an interesting idea. Not that they'd revisit ME2 at this point, or ME1 especially, for love or money - we won't even ever get another patch for the still-problematic bugs, much less more DLC, so it's a purely rhetorical exercise - but if they brought the actors back to voice a couple pronoun-swapped lines, and paid the animators to tweak a couple scenes, and then charged $2 for a DLC that let you unlock Ash/Thane/whoever in ME1&2, would y'all pay for it at this point?

I kept my gay Shepard as the standard Sheploo. I think it was kinda hawt to have the default MShep bat for our team.

As for paying for a DLC that would allow Sheps in ME and ME2 to have s/s romances, definitely!  Playing a modded MShep in ME is all well and good as a quick fix but the pre-Ilos cutscene that first has my maleShep and Kaidan going at it hot 'n heavy, then switches to a femShep climbing on top of Kaidan always has me going, "There's a naked woman in my Shep's stateroom mounting my love interest. Did I miss a meeting?"

^ Making Kaidan and Ashley available for s/s certainly would take the less work to do since most of the lines have already been voiced by male and female Shepard (and they'd just need to add a male/male scene and then use part of the love scene from Liara for Ashley/femShep), but ME1 is the least likely game they'd ever tweak at again (for the same reason they won't bring ME1 for the ps3= it belonged to Microsoft then).

It would be great, but I doubt they'd go back to ME2 to make more romances available for s/s. And we don't even know how romances will play out in ME3 so we can only dream really XD. Maybe it'd be better that they made certain romances available only in me3 instead of just changing a few 'he' to 'she' and vice versa here and there in ME2. That is if the writing changes (I'm talking about bi romances) in me3 depending on if you're romancing s/s or not. Agh, I don't know, I just need to play the game already XDD

This, this, a million times this. What frustrates me is:

1) that I still don't know if Kaidan will be available for s/s romances, and

2) if he is, what sort of import save I'll need to transfer over to ME3. The unmodded M!Shep I have prepared did not romance Ash in ME, saved Kaidan at Virmire and persued zero romances in ME2. I figure that's the best setup until I hear otherwise. The idea of undergoing yet another playthrough of ME and ME2 for a 'correct' import before I can start ME3 does not thrill me in the least.

MageTarot, I think the safest would be to import your unromanced gay Shepards to ME3 rather than the modded ones. That's what I'm going to do. I think someone asked Casey or someone else on a ME Q&A and they said that ME3 won't support saves that modded their Shep to romance s/s. I don't know if that meant that the save will be broken or if it'll just ignore the romance though. I will try importing a modded Shepard (or wait to hear from someone who tries it first) to see if it'll work but only when I run out of other Shep playthroughs.

Plus, even though it was nice to use a modded Shepard to see the Kaidan romance with a gay Shep, it's still wasn't 'real', if you get what I mean, since Kaidan thought you were a girl. I'm sure I'll prefer the 'Kaidan realises his feelings for MShep' in me3 more than having the imported fake straight relationship with a modded mShep. If Kaidan was nervous with femShep then imagine how awesome it would be to watch him admit his feelings to mShep in me3. I can't wait >.>

Thanks. He was my second attempt to make a Shep. My first one is more... rugged, so to speak.

He's also a filthy straight Liaramancer, so he's bad and he should feel bad.
