Jakarta and Ashley will at least adopt a dog. Not that Spacer!Shep Jakarta has ever owned a dog in her life, but she definitely strikes me as a dog person nonetheless.

Actually, I'm not sure about that with Ashley. As much as she's family-oriented, she doesn't strike me as the type who necessarily wants kids herself. I can see her being into it if Shep wants to though (which Jakarta would). Miranda's a a similar open question; it seems perfectly reasonable to me that she'd be upset by not having the choice even if it's a choice she wasn't planning on taking. Marrkhi being an Earthborn who wants to save other kids from living her childhood would want to adopt, anyway. And Kuan Yin will definitely be having blue babies.

The guys on the other hand... pretty much all of them so far strike me as the fatherly type, though obviously Thane is unlikely to accumulate any more troubled spawn. Garrus would be an adorable dad to a couple of little adopted war orphans though XD

Layla is not much of the parenting type. She and Ash would spend their free time romantically strolling down exotic beaches gunning down folks. You know, meeting new people...and killing them.

question, what type of dialogue would you all like to see the VS use beginning a romance with them as a Shepard of the s/s? Me, i would like the VS to express some sense of shock at the idea at first.

As for krogans, they're probably hung like gorillas, which means Shepard (of either gender) is going to be very very disappointed.

Shep:  Why did you didn't you believe me on Horizon?  I think we have been through enough together to deserve an explanation at least.
Ash:  I had to deal with the pain of missing you for two years and then you just show out of nowhere and of all things with Cerberus.  I had no idea what to expect or if it was really even you.  I didn't want to get my hopes up only to be crushed again.  I...I couldn't take losing you again.
Shep: Hmm, that sounds like more than friendly concern.  Perhaps..
Ash: Uh, what I meant was ah, um.  Now I am making a fool of myself.  I...

Preferably Shepard will have to make the first move. 

Coming onto my Shep first...I don't see that ending well for the VS. He doesn't like them enough as is. No need to add unwanted affections ontop of that. 

Though preferably Shep makes the first move and they're a bit taken back.

@Demonique: Really? Did you remind said person that Hitler was a homophobe and killed millions of queer folk in his gas chambers too? (Not that I'm comparing anti s/s folks to Hitler. The only people I compare to Hitler are people like... Stalin and Pol Pot, who, y'know, actually achieved the same level of evil. I find it fairly insulting to their victims to equate them with anything short of that. I just think it's a particularly amusing accusation for anyone on the anti-s/s side to make. As a rule you don't get much further from Hitler than agitating for diversity and inclusiveness, queer inclusiveness not least on the list.)

I can see the VS being "shocked" but only in a "... wow, it's two years later and we had that stupid fight on Horizon and you're still into me...?" sort of way. If they never tried their luck with Shep in ME1, that they never thought they had a chance would be a reasonable explanation (though not my preferred choice, since it is a bit Shep-worshippy), and if that's the explanation, it'd make sense for it to still hold true in ME3.

I wouldn't want anything that could be interpreted as WHOA YOU'RE GAY I NEVER THOUGHT YOU OF ALL PEOPLE COULD BE ONE OF THOSE FOLKS. I mean, even in the most remote way. And you gotta admit it would be pretty easy to imply that if the VS acts too surprised.

Just catching up on the last few pages:

I'd love some sort of epilogue (especially a meaty text epilogue) - it made sense that ME/ME2 didn't have them because they were only parts of a planned trilogy, but they were really well done in Jade Empire and DAO. There'd probably need to be a whole bunch of final conversations where we can talk about plans for the future with an LI; I doubt many people would like their future mapped out for them without at least some player input.

Related: I think kids would be nice, but only if the player chooses. Make a dialogue choice about future plans with an LI at the end of the game (assuming they/Shepard are even alive), kids could be a part of that.

Also: I don't think the VS would be too shocked at Shepard's advances. If the writing is good enough I'm confident Bioware can balance the need to move the romance along with having a credible reaction or explanation for Shepard's new interest.

i was more thinking about what a Fem!Shepard says to Liara, when Liara asks if Shepard has the same feelings for her that she has for the commander.

i do agree with elitepinecone though, maybe nothing too major, just a small deal like:

In ME they did have quite a few scenes that depict Ashley and her sister as being obsessed by boys. Critics say that this proves Ashley can only be straight but I have always thought that this was Bioware's not so subtle way to hit the player over the head and say "Hey! You! Male Shepard! Here is a LI!"

As for initiating a romance they could have female Shepard bring up a conversation about Ashley's personal life and past loves like we girls like to do.

ASHLEY: Boys can be fun and a nice diversion. Maybe we should go out on the town some time.

Yelling, screaming, furniture shattering, crewmen scattering in fear, etc. Then they stare at each other, trembling. Then they madly embrace. Next comes some hot, angry sex. Well then it is only fair that I make my Shepard a bridge between Garrus' and Kaidan's worlds. This may help poor Kaidan get over killing his Turian instructor and teach Garrus to respect more than one human. And I am sure that Jacob is always willing to help out.
