I agree. You get to know a bit about what's going on inside her brain through conversations and helping her about her sister. I may be reading her wrong, to me it's sort of like a building with somewhat shaky foundations propped up by huge, super strong counterforts. And you get to know those different aspects. She can meld those aspects together into a whole, one-piece Miranda. She would no longer use aspects of her personality as a resource or as a front to overcompensate for other things that are lacking somewhere else; she would still be the Miranda we know, but her personality would come out naturally.
I think this would be a necessary first step to see this growth from being someone looking for a place to fit in to someone who shapes the world to create that place. This is kind of what Vito Corleone went through in the Godfather (the book).
