I sincerely want Tali to openly hit on femShep in ME3. If you got her loyalty in ME2, she should come up to you at some point and be like, "remember what I said about linking suits? well I was kind of trying to say... um... iwanttohavesexwithyou."

That should be used as the same dialogue for a male Shepard that didn't romance her in ME2 and is doing so in ME3 for the first time, as well as for a  female Shepard who never had the opportunity to romance Tali in ME2 b/c of the devs.

I want this so much.  Moreso because I luvs Tali than trolling the o/s Talimancers but I am always up for some trolling.

It's a win-win situation. I like Tali and I wanna see over 9000 threads of enraged Talimancers going, "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW SHE IS LIKE TEH GEYS LEZBOS CHRAKTERZ NOW, MANNNNNNNNNNNNNN! I'M NEVA BUYING A GAME FROM BIOWARE AGAIN!!!"

I guess this would apply more to the bi than the lesbian Shepards. Something about Quething said about male LIs not being forceful. I've noticed this as well. Even Zevran seems to use a variety of coy innuendos rather than out ask females for sex while Isabela will openly talk about coming, being on top, and using whipped cream.

Part of this may be that the writers don't want the female heroes to be put into date rape or male menacing situation, but since the Bioware female hero is capable of making dozens of slavers explode with a dagger or taking down a thresher maw with small arms fire I don't see why they just don't give the player a variety of different ways to respond to the aggressive male.

"Hey Shepard? How about you, me in my quarters tonight? I'd like to find out how beautiful you are on the inside, and we can practice screaming each others names and blow out EDI's sensors."

Choices: 1) "Go to hell, ****!" 2) Punch in the face. 3) Gunshot to the groin. 4) Hit him with a biotic warp field so hard what's left of him wouldn't fill a coffee cup. 5) Disinterest. 6) "Hmm, maybe later." 7) "Sounds interesting, but you better not be all talk, mister!" 8) "Let's go to my quarters RIGHT NOW!" 9) "Why wait? Nobody's using this co-pilot's chair right now and I'm sure Joker won't mind!"

That will seriously be the OP for some of these threads.

Not sure if I should laugh or cry.

TALI: Shepard, I just want you to know that I really treasure our night together.

Male SHEPARD: Thank you, my love. Perhaps we can relive that magical evening together?

TALI: [Doing that coy swaying move she does when talking to Shepard] Weeeelll, I notice that Ashley is back in the crew...

[Pause]

...Doyouwanttoinviteherintoyourquarterssoshecanhavesexwithus?

Male SHEPARD: [Stunned] What!?

TALI: I know she's a woman like me, but sometimes I feel like a freak. [Giggle].

The beauty of this scene is that it would take place during the MALE Shepard's game, making her bisexuality cannon in everyone's universe.

@ Abispa -- I would just have Shepard walk in on Tali having sex with Miranda and just have the one who is the LI tell Shepard that they have found each other and it is true love so thanks for the memories.

Tali is bisexual. Miranda is taken. Manly male Shepard actually gets dumped for someone else. That should supply the BSN with threads for the next thousand years.

You're cruel. I like you.

I suspect male LIs aren't forceful because the games are written largely for male PCs, and a strong enough personality on a male NPC would threaten the PC's "lead male" status. (Assertive in relationships doesn't have to go hand-in-hand with "assertive in general," of course, but in the limited timeframe of a video game I think it'd probably be hard to portray well.) A strong personality on a female NPC doesn't threaten anyone, though, it's more instinctive for the average Western writer to pull off a woman who's forceful and charismatic but still ultimately subordinate to the lead.

I've read the discussion whether or not Vega is gay or bi and I figure that he SHOULD be, but make his s/s romance as hard to do as Jacob's o/s romance. I want to find out just how hard the No-******-bros are willing to work at being offended by the "ninjamance."

Because Paragon Shepard totally didn't have to fight a village of brainwashed people attacking her against their will and go without killing any of them.  Samara is a renegade.  She doesn't have the selfish or douchey things they attribute to renegades like punching reporters or accepting kickbacks from drug dealing Voluses (or Volii what are they?) but she is still a renegade through and through.

Because Samara had gas grenades which specifically affected the brainwashed villagers and just decided not to use them? Oh, please...

If she'd had a means of disabling them without killing them she would have used it, the Code would have compelled it. I'm not going to speculate on the circumstances beyond pointing out this would have been a village of enthralled asari and *all* asari are biotics. Renegade Shepard wouldn't have stopped chasing Morinth to take the children somewhere safe either. She is very far from the Shepard model of renegade.

You don't need grenades.  All you need to do is rifle butt them unconscious and keep ploying through.  Hell, I even made a renegade Shep go through without killing them (but still bashed them senseless for the fun of it).  She could have knocked the villagers out if she was oh so paragon.  She didn't because she didn't bother to show mercy on someone attacking her.

It wasn't one person. It was an entire village. An entire village of biotics that set upon her all at once. If she doesn't fight all-out she dies. It's as simple as that. And it doesn't matter that they were brainwashed at the time, they were still intent on killing her at the cost of their own lives if necessary. Ask any cop on riot duty what their worst fear is and they will straight up tell you that it is getting separated and surrounded by a violent mob.

Shepard has gotten into a similar situation before. In ME1 Shep's squad boarded a ship full of biotics to try and resolve a hostage situation only they had the foreknowledge that they would likely be attacked. Samara had no such warning. At least those biotics had all their faculties and could be reasoned with to the point that they backed down. Samara did not have that luxury.

*edit* anyway, this isn't the venue for this discussion. Nor do I define Samara as paragon or renegade. She only cares about whether the Code deems an action to be just or unjust. An argument can be made that the Code itself is twisted and there are certainly points to be made in that vein I would happily agree with. But I cannot agree to label the events we've been discussing as renegade without knowing a lot more about what happened. I can easily picture scenarios where that isn't the case. Scenarios which are vaguely reminiscent of things Paragon Shepard has done when left with no choice.

Uh, why are we debating Samara's status as a "renegade"? She's the exact opposite of a renegade. Renegades don't play by the rules. Samara does EVERYTHING by the rules. They're just different rules devised by a different culture, and the entire asari race reveres the Justicars. They are officially recognized by the asari government and in asari space, the word of a Justicar is law. As to the situation with the village of Morinth's thralls, the Code must have required that Samara use lethal force, or she wouldn't have. And I can see why: An unconscious asari can reawaken and become a threat again, one that the Justicar would not see coming. You don't leave a threat behind you, that's very bad tactics.

Aw, mom, they were just about to give up until you brought it up again. Now we have to tie this into the thread somehow.

Um...

Um...

Do you think her use of deadly force on the villagers had anything to do with their sexuality? Maybe they considered themselves female and their relationships with Morrinth as lesbian, thus Samara had no choice but to kill them. Bioware wrote the code, after all.

Samara is what we'd call a "Lawful Neutral"; she obeys to the letter of the law or in her case the code. If the code compelled her to punish a murderer then she shall. But she would just as soon kick a family out of their home for not paying their taxes.

You can't think in black and white terms when it comes to Samara. It's why I have 18 Shepards following the alignments. :wizard:

Ah, but remember, Abispa, that Samara is already the asari definition of queer. She mated with another asari and had pureblood daughters. If anyone's deviant between her and the villagers --

-- Oh, sh!tballs. Her equation of her Justicar nature with her decision to abstain from romantic entanglement just took on a whole new gross implication for me.
