Those are actually two seperate tweets:

http://twitter.com/#...006769912446976

"If you import your me2 character to me3 there will be huge rewards beyond the inherent reward of continuing your story"

And:

twitter.com/#!/truffle/status/79387868778344449

"For those asking about "permanent" squad members, don't assume squad members will work the same way as me1 and me2"

Oh, derp.

Sounds like squad members will be subject to being rotated in and out though.

-this thread has been going on for 3 days and i hadn't noticed...meh.. and 47 pages.
i read some people see kaidan as full hetero , hmm.
considering writers had already conceived kaidan as either str8 or gay ( has to be unlocked) in ME1 i don't see any problems in the option carrying over to ME3 .

-As for ME2 since there was no s/s option i just killed all romance in the bud, except on a couple of play through just to see what they were.

-in ME3 i hope there will be frequent dialogues so the romance evolves nicely. otherwise it's just wham bang thank you mam. which is fine in its own context but we're taking "romance" here.

Stepping in for a moment to caution some posters here for defending S/S romance too strongly.

I have seen some people come here, make sensible or polite posts stating they do not want ot like S/S romance and people accusing them of homophobia. This is unfair and untrue and will not be tolerated here.

Yes, if someone posts something juvenile or bigoted about S/S romances, this is not allowed, but not liking S/S romances for otehr reasons (such as the possibility of it conflicting with a person's previous romances, continuity, etc) is fine.

I have said this before for ME1 and ME2, I personally do not like ANY romances (S/S or not) in my games. If I were to have bought the ME seriews as a fan, I wouldn't have explored any romances as that is my play style. As an employee, I do recognize that they are a valuable feature for fans who enjoy them, and that having more romance options is even more valuable. But just because I do not liek romances in video games does not make me anti-romance in general or homophobic (or heterophobic eitehr I suppose).

So, please continue sensible discussion, but please lay off the accusations of homophobia. Thanks.

Has there been a lot of name-calling in THIS thread? Please, if I ever miss an instance of somebody treating others unfairly, let me know too, even though I'm not a moderator. I do feel a bit of responsibility for this thread, which is why I'm pretty active when it comes to notifying moderators and issuing reminders to stay on topic and whatnot.

Whereas I'm coming at it from the opposite perspective. I don't want returning squad members made available because it means effectively writing two romances.

No it doesn't.

Possibly, but I don't think that applies to VS, Liara, Tali, Garrus and Vega who's already been announced as perma-squaddies

Gotta love how that thread is already at page 9 or 10 yet my ManShep/Kaidan thread got closed right away.

"S/S relationship could be a disaster" theas is also alive and kicking.

Well, I did a quick Cntrl + F search of every page in this thread for the word "homophobe" and only found this:  post where the poster referred to themselves

So....I really haven't seen anything here.

Excuse me Mr. Priestly, but I have gone through the thread page by page, and only once encountered a mention of homophobia. And that mention was made by a poster using it as part of a disclaimer, assuring the thread he or she wasn't a homophobe.

I'll concede there has been some degree of confrontational dialogue (natural considering the polarising nature of the topic), but that kind of outright aggression? I really have seen no proof of it.

[Edit:] Unless these posts from the other day which seem to have been edited by a moderator is what you are referring to, in which case it's possible. Still, not knowing the original contents of the posts, they would seem to be isolated incidents in the span of a 40+ page thread.

It seemed like there was a lot of use of the word "homophobe" in the "s/s romances will be a disaster" thread.
