It seemed like there was a lot of use of the word (word redacted to avoid trouble) in the "s/s romances will be a disaster" thread.
Maybe he got mixed up and posted in the wrong thread.

I wonder why that thread even exists since the OP's issue isn't even directly about s/s.

Just remember to play nice, guys. You do no good by throwing those kind of words around. Don't feed the trolls/flamers and just remain civil.

Why didn't the anti-s/s-romances crowd got a reminder too then?NICKjnp wrote...
Yeah but it doesn't hurt to remind people to play nice.

Also, did the same for the word 'homophobia' and it only first popped up in CP's post.

Anyway, let's just continue the discussion, shall we? I may not agree with the intervention as such, but it's true that maintaining a civil level of discourse is preferable to the rather nasty alternative.
So on that note...I support Maeko Matsuo for f/f fling in ME3!

Because that would probably be asking too much.

Whereas I'm coming at it from the opposite perspective. I don't w ant returning squad members made available because it means effectively writing two romances, and I'm concerned the romances won't be as good as they could be because they have to account for new and continuing romances.
But if they're willing to spend resources to do it right, bring it on.
To what extent would it be different than a het-Shepard who's only romancing, say, Ashley for the first time in ME3? They're already going to have to write one romance path for those who had the same LI from ME1-ME3, one for ME2-ME3 romances, and a fresh set for new ME3 romances. I can't see how it would be too different to include s/s options for some if not all of the returning squaddies, since it would have to touch on the whole "Why didn't you say something before?" thing.

Well, I do too...but I'm afraid she's too much of a fringe character to get the whole "ooh Mr. Darcy" treatment.
I wish it weren't so...

I also don't think the romance content would be that different. After all, even if Shepard didn't romance Ashley or Kaidan in ME1, Shepard still knows them. There's relatively little information in the romance-only dialog in ME1 that is crucial to acknowledge in ME3. Same goes for the ME2 LIs, from what I can tell. Most of the personal sharing of history of the ME2 LIs that takes place within the confines of the romance track doesn't need to necessarily be referenced, and again, those characters already know Shepard on a personal level, if not a romantic one.
