Not exactly. We know who will be romanceable just not to who. It's guaranteed though that there are two non-squadmate LI who will be avaiable to same-sex.

Don't worry. It's likely (based on how gender-neutral the dialogues are) that Kaidan & Vega will be both available too. So just a little longer to wait till we know for sure. Don't lose hope yet

Ah, that would be nice  I have this secret hope that Kaidan will be a LI for maleShep. It's his VA's fault.

Given the story that I read?  I wouldn't really call it selling short.  The romance seemed totally full and fleshed out and legit to me (and VERY sweet if you've been playing the lonely manshep this entire time), the character just can't join you in battle.

Still wouldn't do much for main!Shep, though. The whole reason she never gave Liara a second look is because her number one qualification in a partner is "fellow warrior." Even if it's fully fleshed out, there are still basic differences between squaddies and non-squaddies that will matter to players and their Shepards, and offering only a non-squadmate would be a serious misstep no matter how well written (yes, Joker included, though I still argue he's a far superior option to totally new characters we've never met).

"Choice" is the one thing ME2 romances got right, and I hope they didn't forget that should extend to us too when they planned out the ME3 s/s paths.

...how on earth does Liara not apply as a fellow warrior last I checked she was standing right next to my Shep when he was shooting at things. And she's a squaddie too.

Now if one was arguing from the m/m side of things yeah sure there's no squaddie romance (known anyway) for them.

Just because a character can be a squadmate doesn't mean they make any sense as one.

Now, Liara did move out of the "civilian" category for main!Shep once she started ordering hits on people. Unfortunately she also moved into the "morally unacceptable" category and main!Shep is much too busy looking for the "Liara wtf is wrong with you" dialog options to develop any late-blooming romantic attraction.

For the guys, well, I'm already seeing dude!Shep/Vega fanart all over the place so I really hope BioWare at least gives us him, it will save a lot of sad faces.

Eh, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that. I can only hope that whatever s/s options there are (which to me, it looks like it's only to be one each), there is a connection between them. Yes, it might have been nice to have former male squadmates suddenly think gay manshep is the bee's knees, but all I'm hoping for is some nice character development that isn't forced.

Vega's going to be a new guy we've never met either, and I hope he's a romance option too, but the fact that he is able to fight along with Shepard isn't why he's so intriguing to me.  I can only hope, too, that he'd have a well-developed romance.

No, we don't know yet. People are only stating their personal predictiots. Kaidan & Vega's romance dialogues are written completly gender neutral so no one can be sure either way.

I actually still don't care all that much about Vega, his appearance still puts me off, I hope the other guy is at least cute or pretty, because strictly appearance wise I'd prefer Brannigan to Vega. But then again more choices are always welcome and I'm sure Vega will make many Mshep players very happy, and I guess I can't get lucky in every game.
Still the no aliens for Mshep in a space opera game will always remain at least a minor dissappointment for me.
