Agree, I definitely want my Shep to finally be able to declare it straight (thehe) that he doesn't want no girl, he's waiting for his guy. Also, I think it's very likely both Kaidan & Vega will be available too. 3 options would be just perfect.Tietj wrote...
I'm actually really happy about this. I've been diligently keeping my Shepard single, telling myself that it was because he hadn't met the right guy yet, and here it is in a canon conversation. Truthfully, I would be perfectly satisfied if this conversation were all we had; even if you couldn't romance Cortez or anyone else, at least Shepard makes it clear that he's interested in men. I can't say I won't be a bit disappointed if neither Kaidan nor Vega are s/s options, but when it comes down to it, Kaidan is Kaidan and Vega is Vega, but Shepard is me, ostensibly, and it matters far more to me that I'm able to actually address the issue of his sexuality in the game. For those people who aren't affected by it, it's difficult to explain why it matters, but for some of us it's important and I'm glad Bioware finally gave us the option. As it happens, if the leaks are valid, we get at least one full-fledged, well-developed s/s love interest in Cortez, which is a nice bonus.

Yeah but we can't go back in time so let's just hope BioWare does make it up for us for the past 2 games with 0 LIs.Ryzaki wrote...
3 options is what m/m and f/f players should've had in the first place after all. One in ME1, another in ME2 and the final in ME3.

We'll all find out soon enough, march can't get here soon enough.
Though I really shouldn't get my hopes up so much, if you go in with low/no expectations then you can't be disappointed, but I can't help it

Frankly I'll be happy with Vega and Steve.
I really wanted Garrus and Joker but...well. We know how that ends up. <_<

I would've loved if Joker was made as a LI, for both Shepard. He easily beats every other LI for female Shep in my opinion, and I would've surely romanced him.

My only s/s Shepard, female spacer/ruthless renegade, is waiting to find out how renegade Liara is willing to go. I'm impressed she stuck around after the racist anti-Asari tirade she threw at the Asari Specter in LotSB. But then I was perfectly willing to save the Asari flagship in ME1 until Liara advised me not to. Teaches those blue calamari for calling her a "pure blood," I guess.
I wasn't happy how the Miranda thing worked out and I'm not sure about Kelly, so my last goody two shoes Shepard will wait to see the ME3 menu, though I'll have to replay him to lose the Miranda romance.

Little off-topic and maybe a little late but... who is Cortez?
A romanceable NPC?
Did anyone ever answer this? The answer is yes, although unconfirmed (officially, I think) by Bioware.

EDIT: Of course, what I meant by unconfirmed is that I think we only know about him from the leak, and Bioware hasn't confirmed anything from the leaks that I know of. So everything we know about him could change by the time the game comes out.

Yeah he does. Don't know why they'd make him the sole male attracted to women in the galaxy who doesn't find the Asari attractive.
At the very least it would be (another) canon reference to the fact that you kind of have to find women attractive in order to be attracted to the Asari, which always throws a wrench in the gears of the "They're monogendered, so it's not lesbian" crowd.

Really? I thought he was pretty clearly exclusively gay. I was late to this discussion and I"m not going to sift through 500 pages, but I seem to remember him making a point of telling Shepard he's not interested in the female dancers.

I am SURE he's MEANT to be gay-only, just as I am sure Kaidan was originally meant to be bisexual, if you know what I mean.

Yes and we all know how that turned out, and of course things can always change before release but here's hoping they don't turn them both bi in the end.

A. Kaidan wasn't originally meant to be bisexual and has no dialogue suggesting such. There is absolutely nothing suggesting an attraction to males or male Shep in ME1. And yes I'm gonna go with the devs on this one because there is ZERO reference to a male Shep Kaidan romance other than dude Shep reading FemShep lines (which...he does on other occasions like that lulz worthy Harkin convo and calling himself a woman). And Male Hawke does the same thing (with the festooned in ruffles line and what not and saying lines that are FemHawke/Fenris romance exclusive).
The only things there are dude Shep reading FemShep's lines when the devs considered it, didn't think it sounded right and decided against it. [thus why there is ZERO difference between a modded dude Shep romance and FemShep/Kaidan and why a fair chunk of the dialogue isn't recorded]. So it's more like he was concieved to be a femShep romance, they thought about making him a male Shep one as well and decided against it.
Whether it was resources or they didn't want m/m in the first ME1 game I don't know.

To tell the truth, I'm not terribly a fan of monosexual LI's in general. Or LI's that won't sorta twist their sexual orientation a little in response to the PC. I like people having the option.

Are you saying you would sacrifice being able to s/s romance Kaidan if it meant giving up our exclusively gay NPC? I'm not sure if I agree with you, but I'm not sure if I disagree with you either. I have wanted to romance Kaidan as a guy since ME1 came out, and now I'm half inclined to give that up for Cortez being gay exclusive. I wonder why that is?

I'm not certain either honestly, but perhaps it is because people already know kaidan while you don't know this new character all that well and if you would like him as much?, but are tempted by the possibility of a exclusive s/s character over the idea of an already established character being an finally an option?

True as it is a single player game (despite the MP that they are adding) it is our own personal experience and doesn't matter in the end, could chalk it up to personal preference.
