No ambiguity here...

Yep. No ambiguity at all.

"I like you, alright? That's a good place to stop."

She doesn't want to be BFF. That's it. Seriously. Girls club = girls being bffs. I think people are looking way deeper into that line then what was intended.

Maybe, one day when you meet a girl who isn't your mum, you'll understand that girls club, and girls night and girls this and that isn't that they are having some "girly fun". I think for guys, it's difficult to understand. Girls and guys have different relationships with themselves.

Given Bioware's propensity for romances, I don't agree. She was giving Shep the red light so she could look elsewhere.

Considering there is no elsewhere and no one else does it I don't see the point in doing that. Just makes more sense to me for it to be a rebuff at friendship. (Plus her "stop pissing around." comment to my Shep that wasn't interested at the same moment).

Bioware never ever makes a romance literally that closed off. For instance, a male Warden can't proposition Alistair and get shot down. A female Shepard can't proposition Ashley...and get shot down. If a character is closed off to the same sex player then Bioware never makes note of that. It automatically defaults to a "friend" path. Female Warden can never try to have girly fun with Morrigan without it being seen as nothign more then being friends/sisters.

Yup still seeing it as a "I don't want to get overly close." thing.

Same, went and rewatched the clip to refresh my memory and all I'm seeing is that she isn't looking for a bff to share with and just wants to be left alone unless it's important

Now that you bring it up, I'm curious if would you(as in everyone here) have liked to have been able to approach a character your "insert bioware game protagonist" liked and get the 'not interested' dialog rather then not at all?.

Oh god being able to hit on Sten and get rejected?

I would've loved it.

Sten's rejection probably would've been immensely lol worthy.

See Samara, Varric and Aveline. ;)

Oh that's right, I don't know how I forgot about that moment with Samara, though it does seem to be a newer trend that they may or may not follow in the future.

Samara doesn't really count as "not interested." as much as "I totally would if this was earlier but no...not now sorry."

True it can be seen as more of a "if I wasn't a justicar, if things were different" But it's still letting you know that it's not going to happen

As in any Bioware game you get cues from potential romances as to their availablity. You wanna see it as freindship thing with Jack, fine. But I've played enough Bioware games to know the pattern.

So basically it's up to interpretation eh?

I never argued differently. :wizard:

Cues like, 'Oh look, Shepard...I've had sex with women' or 'boyfriend or girlfriend'?

What's a more realistic way for gay Shepard to find out if someone else might be gay without commenting on past relationships or just talking about? A new Gays-only nightclub where you can do the Shepard Shuffle and bump into a random LI?

Then you should know by now that there isn't a single Bioware romance that shoots the player down based on their sex.

However I had a romance end because of sex. Morrigan was not pleased with me when she got cold and I blew her off lol.

Like I said I'm done arguing the point, for good. Let them do what they want. I just shoot things in their games.

Does the renegade sex option come up with Jack? If not, it seems odd that Jack, who is still in her REALLY impulsive stage early in the game, wouldn't do female Shepard as she's admitted to have done with other female users in the past.

I sometimes get the impression playing ME2 that there were several female s/s relationships planned but had to be shot down at the last minute for some reason. Tali's identical behavior to both Shepards and her SB files, Samara telling female Shepard that her code doesn't forbid relationship after she thanks her for expressing an interest during their first talk, and Jack's cryptic "girls club" comment.

My convoluted conspiracy theory is that the someone at Bioware called the ME staff out on hypocrisy for possibly creating three new lesbian relationships with no equivalent gay/bi male options. I have the feeling, ESPECIALLY with ME2, that the franchise tries to be totally dudebro by trying to turn male Shepard into James Bond (complete with Miranda cat suit and ass-cam) and having the ultimate macho female, Shepard, get some HAWT lesbian action.

Of course, the big hole in my conspiracy is Kelly, but most players I know never knew she COULD be a LI for either Shepard until they found the information on BSN on how to have a post game romance.
