Eh. Whatever.

Marvel Comics is not cool enough to have Peter Parker admit that the reason his heterosexual romances are all doomed to failure is that he is like totally gay.

I have a friend who says that she'd actually have been totally ok with the MJ divorce if the justification was "actually I'm kind of in love with Johnny Storm" rather than "um let's make a deal with the devil?"

I can't say I disagree with her.

@ Quething -- "One More Day" or "Flashpoint." It's a toss up about which history wipe was more convoluted.

I doubt if it is going to happen in ME3 but I wonder if it would be nice in future ME games that your romantic status could affect party member's combat? For example your hero's life is almost gone and your Asari commando girlfriend goes biotic ballistic. Krogan lovers would go into battle rages or Quarian LIs will suddenly start overloading like crazy.

I don't know what One More Day is but Flashpoint pissed me off to no ends. <_<

"One More Day" is the storyline where Aunt May is REALLY going to die this time, but Mephisto, Marvel Comic's version of the Devil, makes a deal where he'll make everything alright so long as Peter Parker agrees to let him wipe out years of Spidey continuity so that the comic books aren't remarkably different from the Spider-Man we see in the movies. In effect, Peter Parker is single again (and somewhat younger).

Yup. I like manly men, not Dragon Age twinks :P

Agreed!

Give us someone dark, hairy and handsome not blonde, smoothe and pretty! The twink look has been done to death!

Hell yes, I could not agree more.  BioWare men need more fur!  I still liked Zevran and Fenris as charcters though.  They looked too girly for my taste but they didn't sound or act it which is what I liked.  I can't say I found the characters attractive like that hunk Alistair or Anders but I liked them as a whole.  When I first played DA:O and saw that Zevran was the male LI, I thought I wouldn't bother with it because I didn't like the way he looked ( I hate long hair, I prefer Sheppard style) but his personallity won me over.

Probably a chick that's into chick that doesn't have all the guys going, "Dude, that new lesbian character is hawt, bro!" It would ruin her verisimilitude.

So you're saying you want someone unattractive?

Because there are unattractive straight woman out there.

I can't speak for anyone else, but as I said in my original post, I want a character who is built first to be interesting without being obviously designed for romance (first and foremost for male gamers).

Take Aveline...there are both male and female players who find her attractive, but it's not because her role in DA2 is to be a LOVE INTEREST in big flashing letters.  She's *just* Aveline.  And Varric, who many folks found attractive, is just being his badass self, without being written for the purpose of making ladies (or guys) swoon.

My point was that I have specific tastes, but I don't want to be catered to.  I want choice, so that jlb can get her favored female LI and I can have mine, and we can all be happy video game lesbians.

Well, yes, more choices is a good thing. That's why making LIs available to both male and female PCs a good idea.

By the way, didn't your username used to be Teenage Zombie? What happened? You turned 20 recently?

If you call 1996 "recently," sure!  My original screenname was my first AOL handle...it was getting kind of old.

I thought that was supposed to be Tali without her suit. Look at the breasts and them hips!

So, when are the devs starting to "officially reveal" things like characters and updated info about the game?

I mean christmas has passed already, but they won't say anything yet. There's no new info or videos (except for the bonus content), not even the famous one featuring the brand new preset f!shep as far as I'm concern and it's getting boring playing skyrim so many times without the tool kit.

They probably won't - we're under two months before release (:o) and they've said that ME3's marketing will quieter then ME2s....add to the fact that they "sprung a leak"..so they might be keeping more under wraps.

I was afraid it might be so. Still, it's annoying that there's almost two moths left yet.
It woudn't hurt, though, if they showed how some characters look, now that we know about their existence, such as Steve, Samantha and Fembot.

Steve and Samantha aren't squadmates, though, so they might not get as much attention marketing-wise. I don't remember Kelly getting her own video, for example.

I would be pleased if there was a scene in Vega's trailer (assuming he gets one) where a small snippet of a romance with male Shepard was present.
They did that with Tali's ME2 trailer - it was ambiguous enough at the time that people were wondering if it was friendship or romance.

It's not very likely...but fun to think about.

That has a bout a snowball's chance in hell.

Dudebros get even a whiff of Shep being gay in a trailer and oh god the butthurt.

I am really tempted to quote this but yes I agree with that. While the butthurt would be hilarious it could hurt sales.

I picture the stereotypical Dudebro reaction to playing a game where the manly hero COULD be gay to be similar to this:

But I doubt that there will be ANY hint of romance in ME3 promotions and ads, gay or straight. Lots of determined looks and explosions. As it should be.

I wouldn't be surprised one iota for Bioware to put some (male Shepard) Liara romance somewhere in the trailers. Or even Ashley or Tali.

The [apparently gay] shuttle pilot Shepard can develop a close relationship with. He appears to be gay, but may wind up being "bi," unless Bioware "runs out of time" and cuts him altogether.

I'd be pretty disappointed if he ends bisexual anyway even when he had a husband.
