If you're going to all that trouble wouldn't it be more fun to deliberately add some misinformation for the hackers to find somewhere in those files?
Also, since most people, especially the new casual gaming crowd EA so likes to attract, don't even read these forums or indeed other gaming websites for that matter wouldn't it be a whole lot of work for precious little gain to do something like that.

You can't just remove TLK file from the game or the demo, it's essential to it, it stores every text line in the game. The only thing they could do would be cleaning up that file from stuff not used by the demo but it would be alot of work to make sure you don't clean something the demo needs. Who knows if BioWare will want to do it or notTMA LIVE wrote...

Perhaps that's why the demo was delayed?

The existing one (apart from being jumbled and hard to read) lumped both Shepards' dialogue options together, and it was virtually impossible to tell whether a line was gender-restricted unless it made it really obvious.

So the option for Shepard to explain their lack of romance is there, and there are a few lines for old characters *if* they end up being bisexual.
I don't know if this has been aswered yet, but which lines are those?
There's no need to paste them if they are spoilers, though, I just wanna know who they reffer to.
I'm hating this ups and downs everytime I read the forums. One day they may be bi, another they are not. Hope the demo comes out soon.

There are some lines from Kaidan (Ashley has similar ones, I don't know how to search for them quickly):
"I... I have feelings for you, Shepard. And I want more."
"I want to understand what this is between us... and make it real."
Shep can say "I can't bury what I feel for you anymore. And I don't want to."
"You're my brother, Kaidan." (I'm getting BSN overtones here!)
"I want to be together."
Thing is, we already know the VS is available for new players to romance in ME3. Presumably that means (at the very least) m/f romances. So clearly, femShep can say all of the above (except, the brother line is probably maleShep?) - the idea being that Alenko and femShep start a new romance that assumes they didn't have one before.
It's possible all those lines are delivered to both genders of Shep, and Shepard's responses can be from either gender if the player chooses.
But it's impossible to tell whether or not mShep has those lines (yet). If Alenko and Williams do end up being available for both genders, those lines could be equally applied to either gender of Shep, as a "starting new romance" scene. It makes sense either way.

Yes, though to me it works actually better in s/s context, at least with Kaidan's dialogues (I don't know Ashley's lines well). Both of these lines:ElitePinecone wrote...

... look like they're suppoused to be a surprise for Shep/the player, first time expression of feelings. Well, it wouldn't be exactly a surprise to FemShep that Kaidan's into her, he made it more or less clear in ME1 already. Unless of course BioWare wrote this 'new romance path' primarly with new players in mind who won't even realize/know Kaidan already let FemShep know he's into her.
Ohh and "you're my brother" response is from the friendship variation of that scene. It's definitely not just for ManShep, unless BioWare did not allow FemShep to be friends with him.

I've to agree with IsaacShep anc Collider, those lines work even better for me in s/s context.
F!shep doesn't have any buried feeilings for him in ME1, as far as I know, since she has to reject him as well as m!shep does with Ash, in order to go unromanced through the game or just pick Liara as a LI.
I don't wanna get excited yet, though, just in case (learned that with ME2). But still, is good to hear that.

I'd say the ambiguity is a good sign, and the lines do seem a bit odd for femShep.
I'm torn between optimism based on ignorance (as in, we may as well be hopeful because there's no reason yet not to be) and the more realistic suggestion that Samantha and Steve are the only (sans-Liara) s/s options in ME3. A part of me thinks it's entirely plausible that Ash and Kaidan were made available for both Sheps when Bioware decided to implement 'new' romances for them (rather than have new players pick an ME/ME2 romance), but I'm not entirely convinced they'd see the need for it - especially when the two s/s characters seem to be purpose-designed for the role.
We'll know in about six weeks, hopefully sooner, but I'm not hugely fussed either way.

Source & direct quote. Because other devs quoted many different reasonsCollider wrote...
Patrick Weekes said that they deliberated over it and decided that the romances being bisexual wouldn't fit the characters (Ashley and Kaidan).Once the lines were recorded, there was a brief high-level discussion
about whether we should make Kaiden and Ashley bisexual, since the lines
were already there. The leads decided not to do it. The lines work on a
technical level, but they didn't do justice to the characters and
sounded very strange sometimes. Beyond that, there were questions about
having to do a different cutscene for different genders.
He didn't say bisexuality didn't do justice to the characters, he said the lines didn't. There's nothing inherent in Kaidan or Ashley's character to suggest they're not "suited for bisexuality", Tbh I heard the cut lines myself and I thought they were awful, they really didn't suit Kaidan at all. (didn't hear Ashley's)
I think it was an issue of not enough time. I'm hoping that won't be an issue now.
I hope BioWare drops the coy act soon, it's getting annoying.

Soooo kaiden is Bi then?
As we've noted on previous pages, even recently, there are some "new romance" start up lines for Ashley and Kaidan. Kaidan's in particular seem odd if they're meant for female Shepard only. However, s/s is NOT confirmed nor whether or no the script leaked was close to "final."

ok, I have to ask. why do they seem odd? Kaidan may be slipping up if you are watching for it, but there were plenty of peope who got completely blindsided by him, becasue he's pretty subtle. you can also break off the romance at various points and he really doesn't break down and show it untill locker scene (at which point if you don't break it off - the romance is basicaly set)
while I'm most certainly not a fan of "i never got over you, even though you didn't feel the same way at a time" plot, it actualy makes sence MORE as a femshep, because there were signs there that he liked her, but you could also break it off without even realizing it.
