That would explain the uncanny resemblance and why this 'Steve' seems rather old. But Bailey in the lower deck? Where's Steve, then?

Otherwise it's pretty odd that he watches Shep and Vega spar and has absolutely nothing to say about it. No wisecrack, no chuckle, no nothing.

If it is Bailey though I wonder what he's doing?

Stranger things have happened.
That said, I've shown that one of the pictures is probably just Bailey. So I wouldn't worry much about Steve being hit by the ugly stick.

Maybe I'd feel better if he didn't have those wrinkles on his face. I don't want him to look significantly older than Shepard. It just feels kind of wierd.

It does.

Not that there's anything wrong with older LIs it's just I'm used to them being younger or at least DILFs. (In which case they're old but they sure in hell don't look it.)

@ draken-heart -- The lesbian LI isn't really getting as much coverage as she should, probably because there have been "technically" f/f LIs already and ME3 will be the first to let m/m fans deflower their Shepards.

You COULD just go and create a new Shepard so both Kelly and the new lesbian LI have their own snuggle-bunny. That's what I'll do if I get another option in addition to Ashley who doesn't disappoint me or creep me out.

I'm ten hours too late, but where are people getting the pictures of the person they think is Cortez?

I did think his beta appearance looked a bit placeholder-y.

(And to be fair, some of the voices of the Alliance officers at the start of the leaked beta weren't even human. Clearly it was half-finished last time we saw Cortez)

There is another possibility: the character in the closer shot IS Bailey, and Cortez is the guy in shot with Vega and Shepard sparring. Both are blond, but look completely different?

EDIT: Never mind, found it - in Vega's announcement video. 

Looks like Bailey, to me. I don't know how anybody could jump to the conclusion that it's Cortez. If not Bailey, then a random questgiver or important plot NPC. 

Since when did Cortez leave the shuttle? When did he accompany Shepard (and squad) in cutscenes, in the leaked script?

(I also need to point out that one scene in the plot involves Bailey and some events on the Citadel that look like the one in the video)

Look at the doors that open briefly before Liara/Garrus/Shep/blond guy walk into the room - it's an exact match to the Presidium door models used in ME. 

Why are people jumping to the implausible conclusion that Cortez had a change of hair colour, hair style, face, is outside the shuttle and looks pretty much exactly like Commander Bailey?

There's a scene during the *VAGUE CITADEL EVENT* where Shepard and Bailey go to a particular well-known place and investigate something. 

(Dialogue is heavily suggestive of a battle, similar to the cutscene we saw of shattered glass and dark rooms)

Search for "There is damage here. We may be too late", for example. 

I'm not saying it's definitely Bailey, but the odds of a) Steve looking that similar to Armando-Owen and Steve being in a non-shuttle indoors cutscene and c) That character *not* being Bailey given what we know about a similar plot scene are... tiny.

Hmmm maybe it's true? We'll see. But Cortez is almost surely blond at this point, even if he looks different to Bailey

What the heck are you guys talking about? The door opens and Shepard and his crew are in full armor with weapons raised. This is CLEARLY NOT happening in the Normandy and that's CLEARLY Bailey.
