Which is why I'm really confused as to why people are labeling convos that are in the air as femShep only/male Shep only.

My point is, there could still be a flirt option for manShep (the one femShep uses).
I don't think so, because his response specifically refers to "Lola" for that line. If there was a response for ManShep, it would be there.
Also, Loco seems like much more of a platonic nickname as opposed to Lola. If my boyfriend started referring to me as "crazy" all the time, I would seriously question his thought process.

Unless the person Shep is talking to uses his/her gender or is something that only a certain shep would have (say only dude Shep would have a conversation about a continuing romance with Ash). I don't understand the labeling not having a ? mark.
That depends. Are the lines completely jumbled or is there some sort of flow in the script? I don't know, since I don't have the original copy, just bits and pieces. I had assumed that these lines for Lola and "you're cute" are next to each-other, and that the Loco part comes after.
@Red: Might be so, but the script apparently has a lot of lines missing. Still, I do agree that we (well, some of us) are basically just grasping at straws. I'm quite sure Vega will be o/s only. I just know I'll be disappointed if he is, even if I keep trying not to get my hopes up.

There's a segment of lines pertaining to a Vega conversation, for example, but the lines are not necessarily in order by any means. For lines that don't directly refer to gender (Lola/Loco, for example), one can only guess.

Then it is guesswork whichever way you look at it.
Also, I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing. Never should have spoiled myself in the first place.

They did that with Liara F/F too, even though presumably homosexual relationships wouldn't be as stigmatized during this time in the Mass Effect.
So far we have outright indication of Vega liking women but pretty much nothing with men. Kaidan's the same too.

Looking at the previous M/M romances, there's always some mention/reference of the fact that it's male/male. It's never completely gender neutral.

You need to keep in mind that Vega's romance is missing plenty of pieces. He doesn't even have the main romance scene (like nearly every other LI has). Despite like the others he's a Normandy romance.
Plus there's no indication that Fenris was into men either other than his male Hawke romance. Vega might be the same.

Fenris didn't talk about about how attractive his female teammates were or stare at the rear end of one of them. Bioware is really pushing that he's into women, way more so than the other teammates.

No but there's a line male Hawke can say about Fenris being with a man.Plus there's no indication that Fenris was into men either other than his male Hawke romance. Vega might be the same.
But yea, the files are incomplete.

Yup I think there's about 2 lines that are directly flirty with Fenris that involve the usage of the word man and those could be the lines left out.
Everything else is used on his friendship path as well or gender neutral.

Which I should mention is totally absent from Vega's dialog. His gets cut off at the bar where Shepard buys the crew a round...I would imagine Shep and Vega get **** faced and discover a few things about each other and themselves on the Normandy.

From the other M/M love interests though, there are references to same sex male stuff before the romance itself starts or takes off.

Vega doesn't have many (I'm thinking a single line?) romance dialog. So...regardless...Vega is missing more then we think.Collider wrote...

One is from the morning after sex scene
"It wasn't odd to be with a man was it?"
And another is when Hawke's flirting with Fenris. Something about being being blunt in his desires. The words a man were used but I haven't played DA2 in a while.

You mean the "you're a very attractive man, Hawke" line?
edit: there's another one actually: "But you are a man unlike any other, Hawke."

The context of "Loco" and how he uses it is not really different when you think about it from the perspective of a Spanish speaker. It may seem odd to you, but that can work as an endearing nickname that can even mean more than friendship. My stepdad is American and my mom calls him "mi loco" all the time. It's her pet name for him.

I've noticed that Bioware has made Cortez a shuttle pilot, and that implies that he WILL NOT be totally ignored or easily killed by homophobic players (yes, I am labeling the intentional hostility directed toward a fictional gay character because of his sexuality as homophobic). I SERIOUSLY doubt that he will initiate any romances or flirt with male Shepard no matter how "realistic" the scene is written, but I do wonder if his preference will come up in a "straight" Shepard game. Something to the effect of, "I lost my husband a year ago," or "I just broke up with my boyfriend."
Cortez's orientation is made very obvious. One of the first conversations Shepard has with him mentions his dead husband, the next one features the last hologram message from the dead husband, and Steve's entire friendship/romance arc revolves around moving on from the dead husband (hello, Carth). Every squadmate has a 'date' scene (though it can be friendship-based), and in his Steve constantly talks about watching the men in the crowd rather than the asari strippers.
I'm not sure about initiating the romance, there are some lines in there that indicate Steve might do the flirting (though possibly only if Shepard has shown interest).
There's also not necessarily a Zevran scenario where the character can be killed obviously and easily. Many characters can be killed in ME3, but it's rarely made clear beforehand that it's going to happen.
