I like that, in general, the ME/DA games have got progressively more daring with the sort of language characters use, or even the kinds of dialogues they have. 

It really helps with the verisimilitude (heh, and the immersion) when characters talk reasonably realistically (and that includes coarse language etc), and a few moments just wouldn't work if the devs were being especially puritanical ("Don't f**k with Aria", say). 

I wonder who wrote Steve and Sam? Patrick Weekes was doing most of the romances, I think. Maybe someone could ask him on Twitter? 

(It might've been one of the other writers. I did see a list once but I forget who is working on ME3.)

Gah it happened, despite me doing my best to avoid all romances with females in ME2, somehow my Shepard wound up involved with Jack, thankfully I made a save prior so I reloaded that and hopefully it's at a point where he can avoid all that.

Since this is the first time s/s relationships are featured, being involved with someone in a past game couldn't prevent you from having a new relationship in ME3. Hopefully we don't have anything to worry about Augoeides coz I flirted a bit with Kelly and really don't wanna be stuck with her! :-/

It seems to me that every previous LI has an "out" so that Shepard won't technically be "cheating" in ME3 if s/he decides to go with someone new. The VS is pretty clear about considering the romance over, though they do send an email that reconciliation is possible. Liara is "too busy" in ME2, and gets mad for a moment in LotSB, and you get a chance to make up. None of the ME2 characters establish that the relationship is more than mutual attraction and a tumble before the suicide mission. Miranda uses "love," but laughs it off if you say you just want her for her body.

Whoops, I forgot about Tali. She's pretty serious. Hmm. Okay, you CAN cheat on Tali or post-LotSB Liara, I guess. That means Liara is the only s/s romance you can cheat on.

Yes. She has lots of flags actually:
- Chambers: Alive
- Chambers: Had Dinner
- Chambers: Had Flirty Dinner
- Chambers: Had Sex
- Chambers: No Romance

Which for some reason is completely absent in the biggest (and presumbly latest) version of the script. It's in the test file.

And it's Ashley/Liara/no one

It completely ignores the possiblity of Shep being with Cortez.

Also this line "Hmm. I don't know. The three of us? That might be..."

Team Dextro threesome?

I'm looking forward to romancing Cortez he seems like a cool dude I just hope he doesn't compare me to his dead husband all the time... but if Vega or Kaidan are s/s I'll be pouncing on them first!

Nope. The latest script does include Cortez in Tali's line of questioning.

I'm not seeing how the romance with Kaidan can occur early though. (the new one anyway) for the new one it looks like the expression of feelings happens during the dinner scene. Unless I missed something?

As for Kaidan, I may be mistaken, it's hard to tell sometimes. But either way, since you found Tali acknowleding M/M with Cortez, I would say this thing pretty much means that there's probably nothing
more to be looked for in terms of M/M with Kaidan/Vega in these files.
Either they added M/M to those characters in an update, or it's not in
the game period.

I wouldn't put it past Bioware to just put one M/M love interest in ME3.

I agree with the Vega part... but what's so bad about Cortez being blond? There aren't many blondes in the ME universe so it would be a nice change.

Mass Effect's engine can't render blond hair well.  Like, at all.

Also, Vega's romance hasn't been written in the files.  It could be Jacob levels of bad, we don't know yet.
