This isn't towards me I hope?

Because I'm just saying he's not as awesome as he could be. And frankly even if only 10% of the leaked script bits about Cortez stay in he's sweet and nice but he's not awesome.

It was just one opinion. I myself like what I read about him alot and one of my SHeps will definitely romance him, but it's a separate issue that many people are not happy with the pospect of having a single m/m LI, no matter who it is

Unfortunately there isn't even an in game brothel in Mass Effect, unless of course we count the consort but that one's either Straight or lesbian as well and has no m/m alternatives.

While I admit we cannot be sure about his appearance at the moment, I think it's fair to say he's not going to as interesting or awesome as having a squadmate with actual significance to the trilogy as a romance option would have been.

The VS is pretty clear about considering the romance over, though they do send an email that reconciliation is possible. None of the ME2 characters establish that the relationship is more than mutual attraction and a tumble before the suicide mission. Miranda uses "love," but laughs it off if you say you just want her for her body.

Alas it's Jack and the only way to break it off with her, assuming it has been flagged ends with her thinking you're giving up on her as a human being and her screaming "**** off!" everytime you try to speak to her., which leaves my Shepard's efforts to heal her personal scars as a friend as less than successful. Jack is one woman I do not want to jilt.

You apparently can have a fling with Shiala (as Male and Female) in ME3 as well.

Yeah, considering the super-obvious hinting in ME2, Shiala is very likely to be at least another fling for LesShep. And then there's also that Diana reporter who may very well be available to FemShep as well (her romance is similar to Kelly's in ME2) so that would be like 5 options for LesShep lol...

The Asari aren't females crap doesn't fly anymore. In that case I want 4 male looking aliens that aren't males that Shep can sleep with.

I'm hoping that the male s/s LIs, which would be "bi" save for Cortez, are just the most guarded secret by Bioware right now and that this is NOT the case that m/m only has one option. While I'm sure there are lots of female s/s fans who want Miranda or Tali, I believe that Bioware also believes that it is the MALE s/s LIs that are the most controversial.

Any Kaidan "bi" pre-game reveal will be met with screams of "RETCON!" and new players will immediately have him labeled as "the bi guy." Bioware has been promoting Vega pretty hard and I doubt they want him to be tagged as "the bi guy" before the game is released. If they had Kaidan and Vega come out of the closet NOW, for instance, I'm pretty sure the game press coverage would be focused on their sexuality and NOT their battle prowess.

That is pretty much what they did in the lead up to DAII. Yes I know. Different team and all that. But it's still precedent.

I forgot who said it on this thread originally, but if a female romancing an Asari isn't really gay/bi, a male romancing an Asari isn't really straight.

Hope you're right Abispa, they do seem to consider romances as some uber-huge spoiler after all lol

IF Cortez is the single M/M option I will be somewhat disappointed because he's not exactly what i hoped for (still he may surprise me... I surprised myself when I realized my Shepard wasn't attracted to Kaidan in ME1 only very close, and how much of a crush my Shep holds for Kal'Reegar so who knows?), but more importantly I will simultaneously thank and congratulate the ME team for taking a step forward in relations to male s/s but also make it very clear that the lack of choice in comparison to other sexualities in ME (female s/s and o/s, and male o/s) is vaguely insulting and that a crumb for one where the others get a loaf does not equality make. Still, a crumb is a start, and better than nothing providing it becomes trend that gets progressively better.
