Don't get me wrong, I adore Garrus. One of my favorite ME characters. I just don't want him as an S/S option. I could never see my Shepard romancing him; too much of a friendship barrier there.

Garrus to me is exactly like Tali: two of my favorites, but their relationship with my manShep always came off as a really strong friendship. More like a brother/sister type of relationship.

I don't remember any lines that confirm or indicate that Tali is romanceable again. The prevailing opinion of those who've looked at the script (myself included) seems to be that she and Garrus are NOT romanceable by Shepards who didn't do so already.
We should find and post the lines (if they exist) before getting pitchforks.

I stand by what I said though: Bioware don't need to be fair. It'd be nice if they were, and we can keep reminding them of that, but they have no compulsion to do it. 

If Tali is another f/f option (and that's a gigantic, perilously unsubstantiated 'if'), then she's another f/f option. It's what they decided to do, as the creators of the game.

My favourite ever in game romance was my male Hawke and Anders in DA2. Because they were in a relationship it made Anders actions in the last act much more dramatic for my character. It was the first time I'd played a game where I was in a gay relationship and that was at the centre of the story (I know for lots of players it wouldn't have been the same depending on their choices). If Cortez is all we're getting then that's fair enough but I just hope he's important to the story in some way. Hopefully this isn't too much to ask. Although I'm still hoping and praying that Kaidan will be available - I spent all of ME1 and ME2 inserting a homoerotic subtext to their dialogue and don't want it going to waste! :-p

Not quite as much as Anders, but he's actually more important than, say, many of the ME2 squadmates in terms of appearances in main plot quests. 

As in, one could've easily not recruited almost all of the squadmates in ME2 (or, say, Fenris from DA) and never noticed a difference in the main story. Equally, in ME3, former squadmates do play roles in quests but the game is designed to go on without them. 

Steve and Sam do have roles in some plot quests, and their part in the story can't be avoided since they're on the ship from the beginning. That said, I don't think a Steve/Shep romance (or a Sam/Shep one) would have as much tension as a Hawke/Anders one. 

*That* was a doozy. 

(side-note: I love when Bioware makes LIs do crazy story-related stuff. If the VS is an s/s romance in ME3, things will get... interesting.)

Actually hope that they make a gay character, not a bi one, a gay one. Vega could work as he's new.

If they do make all the S/S romances then make everyone bi, it'll annoy me if there's pure straight characters but no pure straight gay ones.

ive wondered myself what characters would get together at the end of me3, i could see Kasumi hooking up with Jacob.

There are more new characters than Vega in ME3. 

What the DLC guy? With him, VS, Liara, Vega, Garrus and (character spoiled by artwork) that makes 6, which gives us 2 or 3 more permanent squaddies.

It's just me or that crush that Kasumi has on Jacob is an other way used by Bioware to make Jacob intersting ? I mean he has sooooo much screen time that I think there's something else going on. I always feel like there is a big arrow on the top of his head reding "here interersting character, saved the Citadel, even one SM has a crush on him, LIKE HIM !"

It's like Bioware didn't even trust Jacob, so they forced the played to interact with him....and sadly, that ruined the character for me

ElitePinecone - thanks for that. I'm sure I'll be happy with Cortez. Anders was so rare in that for once gay and female players got the best deal in terms of romantic drama in DA2 (I'm of course stereotypically assuming that most str8 male gamers played as a man). Would nice if BW released a pic of Cortez at some point. They're obviously aware of the furore on this thread and a wee bit of Cortez exposure might calm the flames lol.

Fully agree! And Vega too as an icing on the cake! Please BW, after 2 games with nothing we DO deserve 3 options
