If I remember correctly, her old website (or a previous version of this one) featured "Samantha Traynor" on it. I remembered she had a distinctive name when someone first mentioned it.
It's further back in this thread, months ago. Someone mentioned she'd been in Origins, and if you Google search "Dragon Age Origins" and "Samantha Traynor" some Russian websites that I can''t read have her name involved.
/takes detective fedora off
It might not be her, but I also remember thinking at the time that the VA looked good for the character. Sam strikes me as fairly cultured. I'm really interested to see how her friendship path works out.

It looks like she played Mhairi. Plus moar pictures, for people who wanted an idea of what the actress looks like.
(not at all guaranteed to look anything like Traynor, mind - but who knows)

Yep, then that's definitely Samantha Traynor.
The role was listed on her website, and months ago someone mentioned she'd played Cauthrien.
I'd forgotten the name of that champion (it's been a while).

The actor is British but speaks fluent French and can do various US accents as well as Northern Irish. Amazeballs.
So... take your pick for Sam. Though I would wonder why they'd pick a UK actress (who speaks French, to boot) if they were going to make her do an American accent for the game.
I would die if Sam was Northern Irish. I think the only time someone from here has been in a game was someone in Dead Space Extraction and the gypsies in Fable 2 lol. I won't get my hopes up though...

Here are basically the characters I like most (this touches other Bioware games as well) but helps me illustrate what I like:
Alistair as a character is funny, goofy and sweet. He isn't terribly bright (not stupid either!) but he makes me laugh and has a charming hint of innocence. The best part is that he still carries his weight without being incompetent. I wish Alistair would have been romanceable in DA. Comparatively Aveline is the dark mirror of Alistair in more ways than one. Where Alistair was a great character I found Aveline mostly annoying even if they share similar characteristics.
Varric is the male counterpart to of Isabela. Witty, sarcastic and generally awesome character. Seriously these two are by far the funniest and strongest characters in entire DA series. He is by no means a dream hunk if you go by looks alone but he has character and personality that makes him sexy.
Kaidan and Carth Onasi. They have a hint of vulnerability but at the same time they are strong and capable characters as well. These are both guys you just want to hold and listen as they speak. Guys whose inner turmoil you want to soothe with love (corny, I know). Oh, and speaking of er... speaking... the voice acting! Seriously I'd marry them based on the voice alone (though I'm not sure if the voice actor wants to hear a guy would marry him based on his voice alone)! Not to mention their character appearance matches their personality perfectly.
Shepard is strong, capable, masculine, confident - even a bit rough. Hell, he is the perfect guy. Almost too perfect! Everything about him is perfect: looks, voice and personality. Not the least because you have some control over these. Mark Meer did amazing job with voice acting (okay, you may see a theme here... voice is a big thing for me
Garrus. I love the character. I love the voice (duh), I love the inner struggle, and I love that the character actually considers things that you tell to him. Seriously I don't give a crap that he is weird alien-bird-reptile thingy. I'd seriously romance him.
Then we have the guys I seriously dislike:
Zevran aka the sleazebag. Okay, guys... you are capable of creating amazing characters like Varric and Isabela and then you give us this corny sleazebag. Everything about this character rubs me the wrong way. Once he started making poetry jokes I began to regret I didn't shut his annoying mouth permanently. Hell, he is almost as annoying as Bertram from ToEE was (though the latter was just whiny but no less stereotypical). Grr!
Anders, Fenris and Thane aka the special snowflake triplet. All have been granted amazing powers and/or have a tortured past but instead of making best out of the situation they do nothing but whine and/or brood. Seriously Kaidan and Carth may wrestle with their inner turmoil but they manage to draw sympathy because they deal with regular human stuff and you know you still can count on them. These guys are just creepy, annoying, brooders. Hell if you had managed to pull off the "male version of Jack" with these guys I could have appreciated it.
Carver earns extra points from being a selfish, annoying ******. I'm going to ignore the fact he is protagonist's borther which means he was probably created this way for a purpose. Seriously I was happy to see him go. Good riddance.
As for Mass effect 3
James Vega. I've seen very little of ME3 characters yet but of the team Vega is the one that grabs my attention. He appears to be a rough and masculine character with a bit attitude. This is a guy who fits into the "straight gay" definition very well. A guy whose respect and loyalty you need to earn. Yeah, he is one sexy guy.

A bi Kaidan might be an afterthought, as a romance, but his whole character wouldn't feel like an afterthought since he's pretty well integrated into the main plot.
Also Kaidan's the only option we have of providing some semblance of a trilogy spanning romance, something all the others have already.
Exactly. BioWare wants to make up for manShep being slighted on the s/s front? Then give him Kaidan. I don't want an npc shuttle pilot, exclusive shmlusive. I don't care how good his romance is. It can't hold a candle to a romance with Kaidan, he's been there from the start and he cares deeply for Shepard (regardless of Shep's gender). He wasn't made using the effing character creator and who can resist that voice? If BioWare denies me I shall not forgive them.

For me Bioware has always missed the male romances a bit. It's great they incorporate them and I truly appreciate it but still a miss.

Absolutely agree! Alistair was adorable. A lot of people said he was kinda whiney but I didn't think so.
Kaidan and Carth Onasi. They have a hint of vulnerability but at the same time they are strong and capable characters as well. These are both guys you just want to hold and listen as they speak. I personally prefered Carth over Kaidan (who I think needed more fleshing out), but yes, they are definately a woobie tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWoobie. Also the voice acting is awesome, which is funny that he plays guys that people find so attractive 'cause the actor himself is kinda plain. No offense Raphael!
Shepard is strong, capable, masculine, confident - even a bit rough. Hell, he is the perfect guy. Almost too perfect! Everything about him is perfect: looks, voice and personality. Yet Shepard, too, can have a tortured past (sole-survivor anyone?) which is why I like this picture:

I just love his romance scene with femShep. He's, like, trying to be all romantic and just ends up kind bumbling around.
Zevran aka the sleazebag. Okay, guys... you are capable of creating amazing characters like Varric and Isabela and then you give us this corny sleazebag. I didn't much like him either. He was all trying to be suave and just came off as some kinda d-bag you immediately brush off at a dance club.
Anders, Fenris and Thane aka the special snowflake triplet. Here's where we differ some. I thought Thane rocked, but then Father/Son stories always pull at my heart. Anders was awesome in Awakening, but then got all wimped-out in DA2. His endless whining drove me nuts. One run-through I even told him to leave. Then, on top of being a whiner, he turns into a mass murderer. Epic. Fail. Fenris was alright for a time, but his own inability to try at resolving his issues drove me nuts. PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, MAN!
