How would you feel like whether, besides Steve, we got not Kaidan or James, but Diana's fling male counterpart?

I want an actual squadmate. So not very pleased.

If a freaking news reporter one-night-stand Diana Allers can have a unique face, Cortez better have too, that's all I'm saying

I just watched the voice cast reveal video and I was about to make pretty much the exact same post. I will seriously be furious if Steve ends up being the only LI with a character creator looking face.

I'm also very sad we don't even get a glimpse of Kaidan. I mean, it's not like we don't know he's going to be there in ME3 XD. I have certain suspicions about this though.

At first I thought "Clearly they want to show off their most famous voice actors" but then those random females showed up "Am I supposed to know them?" Or maybe Sheer and Sbarge were just recording some last minute stuff<3:?<_<

I know BW will never release any spoilers but I would just love them to send a wee tweet saying "1 s/s romance" or "everyone gets at least 2". Surely that wouldn't ruin anything? Please BW? Lol

If Diana has a unique face, I don't think Steve and Sam won't. Also, may I ask what these suspicions of yours are? Maybe you thought the same as I did (or maybe not).:P

If Sam looks like her VA, I am so getting my forever.alone Shepard to romance her.

I really hope Sam is a soft butch. I really really really do. I like uber femmes like any other, and Isabela was probably my favorite s/s romance (What? A woman who is in control of her sexuality and is a powerful pirate?) - but, I really would love to see a soft butch.

Is it so much to ask?

Given she's s/s exclusive, perhaps not! We can't ever have a bi female who might possibly even hint at being more dudely than the PC, but perhaps, just perhaps, it might occur to them that an f/f exclusive character doesn't have to appeal to their default concept of what the male gamer wants.

Personally, I just want her to not be white. The franchise keeps getting suspiciously more pale with every installment, and even Kaidan and Ash look awfully pasty in the promo shots compared to their ME1 selves...

I kind of accepted Ash. She used to be out in those gun fields 24/7. Working inside and away from the beating sun might pale your skin a bit.

I do love Vega, however. Big guns or not. I live in Los Angeles, and its about damn time I saw a good model of some of the nicer Latino boys I know out here who are themselves bulky but friendly and sweet.

Love Vega. More representation.

Actually, they're getting both paler and blacker lol. Anderson looks darker than he did in ME1 while indeed Ash & Kaidan look paler. Add ME2 to that - there was totally black Jacob, totally white Miranda, asian Kasumi. Urhm, what happened to the concept of mixed races with few people looking like 1 race (no matter white, black or asian)? In ME1 Anderson (mixed, on the black side) and Kaidan (mixed, on the white side + some hint of asian heritage in eyes) represented it quite well. But since ME2, it's like they're backtracking to cast made of modern representatives of each race.

It may or may not be intentional.

I work in the entertainment industry, and I have witnessed these dialogues on the table. Like it or not, the industry often caters to concepts and ideas that absolutely work and rarely take risks since no one likes to lose money. Unfortunately, it doesn't reflect the audience.

Rather, the idea is to reflect the audience's 'fantasy' world.

A world game developers, movie producers, and television producers envision as a perfect reflection of their current rich life styles. Lots of white skinny people, your awesome black friend, sexy hot young ladies catering your drinks, a gay cameo to add life to the party (and make you feel like your lifestyle is totally not homophobic), etc.

Its crappy, but a lot of producers actually believe this is what audiences want. And, in some ways, it kind of is. Its sort of disturbing.

At least ME3 breaks the mold a bit. It might kind of be veering in that direction, perhaps unconsciously, but...

.. then they turn around and add freaking VEGA WHO IS MY HOMIE! Its cool, Bioware. You make some decisions I don't care for, but you also make good ones too. I'll keep calling you on your crappy ideas. But I'll love you for the good ones.

Although I don't think the actress was Latina, though.

My suspicions may be ridiculous or just me being paranoid, but I can't  help but notice that certain characters that 'draw' players' attention (Diana and her 'pretty' face and outfit, despite her unimportant role in the game) get the spotlight, while other characters that interest us (Steve, Kaidan and Sam) are so absent in all footage that it's like it's been done on purpose. I wouldn't be surprised (however ridiculous my thought is, I never said it wasn't) if they hid these characters as much as possible because of their current LI status in the game (Steve is gay=pretend he doesn't exist=avoid fan rage until after the game is released and everyone has bought the game- including close minded fans that would go 'I won't buy it if so and so are s/s). Chances of Kaidan being bi are getting higher from where I'm standing.

Don't attack me for my silly thoughts, you asked XD

"'I'm gonna' give it to me SO hard.' Here's that Diana Allers character info you're looking for!
g4.tv/yVRQ60 @G4TV @Bioware #MyIGN"

You can keep her on the Normandy
You can kick her from the Normandy (apparently)
And yeah you can romance her...

AND

"I think you can romance me with a man or a woman. We’ll see when the game comes out"

I guess she is a romance option and apparently bi.

So they announce that she will be a LI but no one else? What happened to were not going to announce the love interests Bioware? :P

Anyways, Congratulations for those who wanted her to be a LI :)

The fact that it looks like you'll be able to START NEW romances with the VS and Tali (?) has my immersion-breaking bisexual radar senses tingling. Um, not that I really want Tali to be "bi," but, as we said earlier, the nerd rage will be glorious.

Yeah, but since BioWare has been on the whole "everyone loves hot lesbian action" train, why wouldn't they show Sam? Also, why not show Kaidan? He's been there since the 1st game and he was straight in it, it's not like anyone would know he's bi from the footage. I do agree about Cortez, though. Sadly.

EDIT: Another s/s female LI?! Kaidan better be bi.

Might look bad if they added yet another bisexual female love interest (even as a fling) yet have only Steve as M/M.

So Diana is probably bi, huh?

I pray to God that Steve and Samantha will still be exclusive. Not for exclusivity's sake, I just really want full-on gay characters.
