My suspicions may be ridiculous or just me being paranoid, but I can't  help but notice that certain characters that 'draw' players' attention (Diana and her 'pretty' face and outfit, despite her unimportant role in the game) get the spotlight, while other characters that interest us (Steve, Kaidan and Sam) are so absent in all footage that it's like it's been done on purpose. I wouldn't be surprised (however ridiculous my thought is, I never said it wasn't) if they hid these characters as much as possible because of their current LI status in the game (Steve is gay=pretend he doesn't exist=avoid fan rage until after the game is released and everyone has bought the game- including close minded fans that would go 'I won't buy it if so and so are s/s). Chances of Kaidan being bi are getting higher from where I'm standing.

Don't attack me for my silly thoughts, you asked XD

Yeah, but since BioWare has been on the whole "everyone loves hot lesbian action" train, why wouldn't they show Sam? Also, why not show Kaidan? He's been there since the 1st game and he was straight in it, it's not like anyone would know he's bi from the footage. I do agree about Cortez, though. Sadly.

EDIT: Another s/s female LI?! Kaidan better be bi.

Well even if they show Steve, fans that haven't read the leak or don't lurk around here won't know that he's an s/s LI unless the footage they show of him is him saying about his dead husband :P. Maybe they are just trying to avoid drawing any kind of attention to s/s love interests to be on the safe side/ avoid fans searching about the characters and finding out/ concluding that they are s/s even without solid proof. Same with Kaidan. I am cautiously including Sam because she is exclusively s/s from what I can tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if they show her and just avoid the male s/s LIs only since they are the ones that get the most rage about. You know, because lesbians are hot but gays are just sick.

Meh.

Is that a "god no" or an "I doubt it"?

So wait, femShep gets Liara, Kelly, Samantha + Shiala, Gianna, Diana + ??

True enough, but the whole gay thng is pretty central to Steve's character, in fact, it's probably the reason why he's even in the game, while the same can't be said for Kaidan.

And yet despite Kaidan's crucial role (equally important to Ashley's) in the game he hasn't even been mentioned in any of the footage. Coincidence? :police:

Ask yourself this question: "BioWare wouldn't read that travesty of a novel and disregard all the glaring mistakes, right? I mean, no sane person would EVER publish something like that, no?"

Yeah. If they make it uneven, I won't be surprised.

EDIT: @ your 2nd post, all of  the footage is of maleShep, probably the same playthrough, in default maleShep playthroughs, Ashley is the survivor.

Gianna doesn't kiss female Shepard.

List of F/F flirations so far:

Liara
Consort
Shiala
Kelly
Samara
Morinth
Samantha
Diana

List of M/M flirts so far:
Steve

Not looking too good so far.

I'm happy for F/F fans that they get another option though - in essence, anyway. In practice it's possible that it's just a fling/one night stand thing with Diana so it may not really be much more than a diversion. I suspect this, actually.

I lean toward agreeing that Bioware may just be playing "hush" with the male s/s opportunities since those are the ones that get the most ire from the... certain fans. But I am starting to get the feeling that Garrus and Vega, the advertized bad-ass bros of ME3, will not be available for s/s to ensure... certain fans can have their all straight "manly" male assault team.

I do think that they may just go make them straight bro characters. I actually think they may be doing this with Kaidan, too. Just guys to shoot evil aliens with.

If Vega's not m/m my face -_-

Really BW? 4 f/f LIs and a sole male LI? And one of those f/f LIs is a squaddie?

*rubs temples*

Please for all that is holy let Vega and Kaidan (even though I can't stand Kaidan) be bi. Just for some non completely skewered balance.

^ Abispa, Garrus is not s/s since he's an ME2 romance and you can't romance them in ME3, only continue his romance as a femShep.

The best thing Bioware could do is make the most advertised new character in ME3 be bi. I'm talking about Vega (of course). It'd not only get away from certain stereotypes, but it would be a huge 'DEAL WITH IT' to 'certain' fans as you said, and earn our respect :D.

I personally think it'd be a brilliant bussiness move, since they'll only gain popularity and more players (the percentage of lost players would be insignificant to the amount gained) if they show so much support like that. But hey, I don't work there :P

I hope this doesn't indicate that they went the DA route and made everyone non-straight character bi...
I want gay characters! I'd seriously take an exclusive Steve and Sam over more options. Posted Image

Default mShep had Wrex killed in ME2 and yet they show him in ME3 footage. Since they said that you'll be able to take certain choices (like that comic for the PS3) in ME3 for new players, it's not weird for it to be normal for them to show Kaidan footage.

I don't think it means anything other than another F/F love interest.
I don't remember reading anything in Diane's lines that made her overtly heterosexual.

Kaidan was shown with Sheploo in the first official ME3 promo screen released:

After that though, Kaidan disappeared from ME3 marketing completly sans the Collector's Edition alternate apperance outfit

Hence my thought that they just recorded one playthrough, where Ashley's alive. It's kind of stupid, but I don't see anything suspicious about it.

I have NEVER truly believe that Garrus would be "bi," but I have argued (many pages ago) with s/s critics that his being a s/s LI would be no more "wrong" than his being a LI for a human of ANY gender given Turian weakness to human DNA. I only mentioned that it looks like you can start a NEW romance with the VS, Liara and Tali (?). Therefore THEY are the ones I believe are going to be the most likely "retcon" LIs. And Liara WILL be a "retcon" if it comes out that she's a woman.

I wouldn't put it past Bioware to make Tali newly romanceable, romanceable by both genders, yet leave Steve as the sole gay LI.
