I can't recall them right now.

Adams was the chief Engineer on the original Normandy.

Dr Chloe Michel was the doctor on the Citadel that Garrus and Shep saved from thugs in ME.

XO Greg is... the XO. He was named Cortez in the leak, but I suspect it's a really old file and he's been changed or replaced since then. I doubt there'd be two crewmembers called Cortez.

But I'd imagine if we were going to get a crew feature they'd have to spoil a few of the spoilery squadmates (the three I mentioned above come from the leaked script), and I don't know if Bioware want to do that.

f/f has, to date, one and a half.

Yep, but that half (Kelly) is getting meaningful expansion in ME3, so in the end it will be a legitimate choice, noit just half/bonus fling.

Aah! I remember now, thanks for answering. As for the feature, I guess we'll have to wait and see then.=]
I hope there's something, though.

I like the idea I read in a previous comment. Maybe if they do a 'Normandy crew' promo they could 'squeeze' Steve and Sam into it without attracting too much attention.

This ain't Oppression Olympics, and seething amongst ourselves about the respective marginalizaitons of Hawt Girl On Girl vs Invisible Gays benefits no one

Well said.

Yeah, that's no fun. I only love the Oppression Olympics featuring this tread vs. the "endangered" [Official] Straight Male Gamers [Trademark].

You know that it isn't just every woman in the galaxy who wants to get into Shepard's pants, all the guys do too. But they disappear whenever they're about to hit on him.

Sigh. There is no "Oppression Olympics" between the m/m guys and the f/f crowd. Nobody is tossing venom at the f/f fans, but arguing the unfairness which is solely on BioWare (this is saying if the 8/1 ratio proves to be correct in the finished product). Arguing that having incessant flirting is there because of manShep is absurd, not only because the devs could have not added extra lines for femShep and kept it out of her game if they wanted to, but also because the fact remains that it is there - and that femShep does have options to show off her preference several times - while manShep has none. If BioWare does end up including 4 f/f options (and 4 other flirt option, or whatever) and we get only one it will be unfair and has nothing to do with f/f fans.

Apparently, FemShep also has women that are trying to get into her pants as well. No invisible lesbians.

I was just reading the Tali topic, and I can see why people would be upset if she were turned bi. A lot of people like having her be friends with femShep, and that's it. If Tali started coming onto her it would be... not the best. I know I would be really bummed if Garrus started coming on to manShep because Garrus is such a bro to my Shepard and that is all.

On the other hand, I would be totally okay with most of the other characters (mainly the VS) being bi.

Unrelated, when will I be allowed to change my avatar to my own picture? I haven't posted much until recently but I've been a member for years.

Bundalings, you are aware that Tali "comes on" to femshep in Mass Effect 2. She has the exact same flirt lines she has if you are a male character. The only difference is that femshep does not have the option to reciprocate the feelings. That ship has been done left the port.

^ Plus I'm pretty sure all romances will be player initiated since they have said that a few times (and they would most definately want to avoid fan rage so it's probably true)

I didn't like Tali "coming on" to my male Shep, but I dealt with it. I don't know why it's only the s/s flirting that skeeves everybody out.

And as for changing the picture - it's explained here.

@ Silentassassin264: Oh, well in that case, full steam ahead. I've only played femShep once and I suppose I didn't talk to Tali on that go.

@ Catharsisboo: Thanks for the link. But... wow. I just figured you had to be a member for a certain length of time or something. That's ridiculous. Eh, Kaidan's good enough for now.

I am a Garrus fan and he does not flirt with her EVER until she tells him to. And he still says he does not find her attractive but that he "respects" her. IF IF IF he is a s/s option I do not think it SHOULD be a problem if they do it the same way (s/s critics will whine anyway). If Garrus DID turn into Zevran I would laugh maniaclly and give him a male Shepard to "respect" ASAP.

Given that we're only a month out from release and the demo is launching soon, I thought I'd make a topic on Steve Cortez in the ME3 Character forum (this one!).

I'll use the only picture we have from the demo, even if it's outdated, and some of the *general* information we know like his occupation and role on the Normandy.

Most of the other character threads have punny/funny names, so I was thinking of a couple, but I'd love to hear some more ideas if anyone has them.

"Dropping into the Hot Zone: Steve Cortez Discussion"

"Landing in the Hot Zone: Steve Cortez Discussion"

I figured we may as well have a topic about him, and as new information is revealed I can add it to the OP.

Did someone want to make one for Samantha as well?

Are we allowed to do that?  I mean, the only way we know about him is via an accidental leak by Bioware.  They don't really want us to know that he exists right now, let alone that he's a romance option.

Here is my 2 cents for S/S relationships in games.

- When ME hit the game market way back then, everyone was talking about Liara who is available for both male and female Shep. However as Asari created as "hot green babe" race (check Art of ME) f/f romance was not for female audience but for playing into fantasies of juvenile horny boys. So she didn't cause as much flame as DA 2 bi-characters. Heck even in DA 2 only males were problem just like Zevran from DA:O where many people happily admit they killed him at first chance because he is m/m romance option.

- Turning old characters into bisexuals suddenly always back fire (i.e. Anders). We know both Ashley and Kaidan planned for both genders but Bioware pull back same sex romances. Why bring them back now? Did Ash and Kaidan got so horny in passing years and suddenly decided to dig into same sex?

- Beyond humans all alien races are straight it seems (expect juvenile fantasy tool Asari). I wonder if they ever think about creating Masari race which all look like male humans with Asari sexuality rules.

- And finally ME 3 will have m/m romance Cortez. However from what I understand Cortez is your driver. Not a LI who will fight side by side with you. At best you can get naughty on back seat of transport I guess.

So to me what we(gay guys) get from gaming industry and comics industry (both have young straight boys as target audience) is half arsed pity coins (or lucky shots in case of lesbian community). Not because people in those industry want it that way, because society demands it. They are just trying to sell their products. Bioware taking very brave steps in that very dark area so my sincere thanks to all past, present and future people working on Bioware games.

Sorry if I sound so negative but unfortunately my thoughts are like that.

They mostly leave content in character threads alone. I know EDI's and Prothy's threads are booming because of leaked information.

And if Steve's and Sam's are general enough that they don't actually quote leaked information, we should be able to use it.

As long as the romances are done well, it doesn't bother me whether or not they are squadmates. Actually I kind of like that about Sam and Steve. Every time, our main LI's are in our team. With maybe the odd option to flirt or such with a randomer. It makes a nice change.

Yup, all about marketing though I resent you claiming Liara is not a serious romance.

One post in the FFTL spoiler group made me realize something.....lesbian Femshep has TWICE as many LI than straight Femshep o_O

wait....these are the known LI so far that can be initiated in ME3 (correct me if I'm wrong)

Straight Dudeshep: 4 (Kelly, Diana, Ashley, Liara)
Lesbian Femshep: 4 (Kelly, Diana, Liara, Samantha)
Straight Femshep: 2 (Kaidan, James)
Gay Deudeshep: 1 (Steve)

I find hard to belive that there would be so much disparity, even between straight Fem/Dudeshep.

Diana isn't a fully-fledged romance option, she's basically a one night stand that (if I remember correctly) Shepard doesn't tell their other LI about.  Or something. It's been a while since I've read the lines.

But yeah, it is interesting that the addition of Sam gives lesbianfemShep an option all to herself, when before she always 'shared' with maleShep.

Then again, importing from ME2, straight femSheps have three more.

Frankly I've given up trying to understand the mindset behind allocating LIs in ME3. It really does seem bizarre that there are more f/f romances in there than male LIs for femShep.
