One post in the FFTL spoiler group made me realize someting.....lesbian Femshep has TWICE as many LI than straight Femshep o_O

wait....these are the known LI so far that can be initiated in ME3 (correct me if I'm wrong)

Straight Dudeshep: 4 (Kelly, Diana, Ashley, Liara)
Lesbian Femshep: 4 (Kelly, Diana, Liara, Samantha)
Straight Femshep: 2 (Kaidan, James)
Gay Deudeshep: 1 (Steve)

I find hard to belive that there would be so much disparity, even between straight Fem/Dudeshep.

Diana isn't a fully-fledged romance option, she's basically a one night stand that (if I remember correctly) Shepard doesn't tell their other LI about.  Or something. It's been a while since I've read the lines.

But yeah, it is interesting that the addition of Sam gives lesbianfemShep an option all to herself, when before she always 'shared' with maleShep.

Then again, importing from ME2, straight femSheps have three more.

Frankly I've given up trying to understand the mindset behind allocating LIs in ME3. It really does seem bizarre that there are more f/f romances in there than male LIs for femShep.

It's simple, guys like F/F romances as much as if not more so than F/M so that is why there are more.

I wonder if I could use those psychic powers on Bioware folks to convince them to turn Kaidan and Vega gay LIs if they are not already - or would that just turn those Bioware folks gay.  *hmms* :innocent:

I'm a little tired, so I'll just pluck out this particular point for now.

That only 'backfired' because a whole lot of noisy people massively overreacted to him flirting with a male Hawke, once, and launched into a campaign of unrelenting hyperbole. I may be cynical to my bitter, bitter core, but I have absolutely no reason to believe it had anything to do with him being 'suddenly' bisexual, and everything to do with him being a man who hits on other men ew no ****** bro.

I don't really think it's that simple at all, but I can't think of another explanation for why there are so many f/f romance options.

Remember that half of ME2 players never played any of the romances. Only 18% of players used femShep. Surely if male players were so enraptured by f/f romances, there'd be more of them playing as femShep to use them?

Granted, ME2 only had Kelly and some flirting with Shiala...

(I'd be interested to see the telemetry on how many ME femSheps romanced Liara)

It's probably about even. I play fem/maleshep 50/50 have 4 romances with Liara 2fem/2male. In fact I have more femshep Liara romances than fem anyone else.

If they did have data about the first game as to determine that Ashley was preferred over Kaidan, they would probably also have had data on how many players chose male and female Shepards. Even without data one can presume. Yet they treated FemShep equal in ME2, giving her exactly the same amount of romances, plus some recycled male stuff as bisexual. And by stuff I mean flirts and Kelly, since of course not one of the six "full" love interests was available for both genders, which may or may not be an indication to the player interest in Liara. It's clear that her romance with FemShep was targeted at a male audience. And it's easy to assume that this specific audience is more interested in certain cutscenes, rather than romantic bits, possibly resulting in ME2 flings, light romances and such. As for fairness it simply remains to be seen. Jacob and Thane seem to get less love than Miranda and Jack from what I've heard, but the numbers almost balance out otherwise. Steve and Sam, Kaidan and Ashley, Tali and Garrus, Liara ...and you know might fill the spot. We just don't know.

Remember when we were talking how this entire secrecy about romances may really be about not attracting attention to male/male content? Well, seems like it, because Jessica Chobot is announcing her romanceable character (by both male & female Shepard) literally everywhere she goes now. From this thread:

Bryzon wrote...

According to Jessica Chobot on this week's Feedback (G4TV Podcast), she says that she plays a reporter and that Shepard has the option to have sex with her.

She talks about it at the 55:10 mark:

Video:http://www.g4tv.com/...y-13-2-edition/
Audio:

There is also an interview posted at G4TV where she talks about the experience:

 http://www.g4tv.com/...-talks-romance/

"Last I heard, I am one of the 'romanceable' characters in the game," Chobot said. "I think you can bring me on the Normandy, I think you have the option of kicking me off too. I’m not sure if that’s before or after you romance me, so we might have a  Jersey Shore moment. I think you can romance me with a man or a woman. We’ll see when the game comes out," Chobot added."

Even more on the experience at her IGN blog:
http://www.ign.com/b...s-mass-effect-3

It's like the romances are only super huge spoiler when it's about two guys lol

Say what you want about Chobot, but it's nice to see how enthusiastic she is about this. I can only imagine how honored she feels as a fan to do this. I hope she did a good job.

I've seen people use that argument before, and it's never made sense to me. If you're refering to the uncomfortable moment when he hits on Hawke and is (potentially) rejected, then that scene is just as bad with femHawke as maleHawke. It has little to do with the character being suddenly bisexual and a lot more to do with a badly written romance scene. If you're refering to the fact Anders' is completely different from Awakening to 2, then that has nothing to do with bisexuality. I really don't think how his character or romance was handled has any bearing on how well or badly Bioware would handle Kaidan/Ashley or whoever else becoming a bisexual character.

I don't know, she seems more to be the exception than the rule when it comes to announcing character romances. I mean, we only know about the o/s ones because they're all pre-existing, and it's not as if there's long, detailed posts about all the f/f romances they're implementing.

Or about romances in general, really.

She's announcing it everywhere because her role is really small in the game and it's really not a spoiler when it comes to her character (what other part does she play in the game other than take an interview and have a one-night stand with Shep?). Maybe they are even telling her to keep talking about it on purpose so everyone can focus on that and get excited about the game more (for example I told my friend that you can have sex with her and his excitement for the game doubled instantly :P)

I don't want it to look like I'm arguing with you on purpose every time, but to the bolded part - we don't know. She might have a bigger role. And the same could be said for Steve - what other part does he play other than driving the shuttle and selling us gear?

^ Sure, but with the info we have so far, her role is far less important than Steve's. He has a purpose on the Normandy while she does not.

Any discussion we have here is speculation mixed with info from the leak anyway, right?  Of course we can't know for sure if her role is bigger than what we see so far or not :)

Damn it. When I supported "all Bi" LIs it was because I wanted to AVOID creating a new harem for Shepard. Now I am just... confused. I am beginning to think that anyone you can start a romance with in ME3 will be "Shepard-sexual". The ME2 LIs will remain straight and we get two s/s-only LIs. No real logic to it. Just Korean intuition.

I am not mad at her. I would jump at the chance to be a ME LI myself. I only hope for those of us who want more male LIs that Bill Gates is not a real big ME fan who wants to be part of the game.

That'd be too good to be true...dreaming costs no money, though.:D

I am Korean and I was just stating that my opinion is based on what my gut tells me not on any "logical" reading of the evidence. I CANNOT believe that f/f LIs are suddenly springing up and m/m fans are only getting ONE.

I think its good to have in the game to give it a sense of realism. I just hope that it becomes obvious where its going as the last two bioware games i played Jack ended up hating me in ME2 because i didn't realise i was romancing her and in DA2 Anders ended up hitting on me and my rebuff caused him to dislike me slightly. All i was trying to do was be nice!

What Anders did WAS realistic given his state of mind in DA2. You need to ask yourself how realistic was it for your Hawke to be incredibly nice to an ABOMINATION who just lead you and/or your apostate sister into an ambush where you were forced to kill TEMPLARS inside the CHANTRY. If I was Anders I would assume Hawke was hitting on me too.

Well, I figured that you were Korean, but I was oping you could tell me what sets Korean intuition apart from, say, Japanese intution. :P

Oh, and as for the new s/s LIs, is it any surprise that there are several f/f romances than there are m/m romances?
