IDK. I like him for his intelligence, masculinity (without being over-the-top dudebro "boobs boobs!!!"), open-mindness, the fact that he's unpretentious and for that boy-next-door quality.
And of course that he's hot and furry

I like him because he's serious but not broody, he's trustful and open about his feelings but not whiny, he doesn't need to say: hey! I'm so strong and sexy you have to love me (as the females do) for me to notice him, he has good sense of loyalty and honor and can have an equal to equal relationship with parangon m!shep.

And as Isaac said he's furry!!:D

All of the above + the tale of two people serving together for so long and having some relucance to start anything, which runs into some trouble but work though it (hopefully).

Ah, the europeans never disappoint when it comes to the weirdest questions:

"Will the characters wear clothes during the sex scenes like they did in ME2?"

Michael Gamble: "The relationships in general feel much more natural and organic this time. It depends on the weather wether or not they wear clothes. Again, you'll have to play it to find out. Don't worry, you won't be disappointed not matter if you're male, female or whatever."
[obviously this has been translated twice]

It just seems that since his last name is Vega, he would a. have some type of hispanic heritage (family) and b. have an accent slapped on there.

I also understand that there are people who can speak fluent spanish, but dont have accents. Although in my experience those are usually people who dont grow up in spanish speaking families so the accent doesnt transfer generations.

Huh, My experience is pretty much the opposite - I grew up in Canada but in an area where very few people speak English (or French) at home, and nearly everyone who grows up speaking two languages equally ends up without a foreign accent in either of them (or at least not much of one). Honestly, I'd like to see more representations of fluently bilingual characters so I'd be more annoyed if they felt like Vega needed some random Spanish accent.

Heh, were they inorganic the last time around?

I don't know. I've never romanced anybody in Mass Effect.

That bit is actually not even translated. You can hear him say it at the end of the video.

I see your point, I speak both Spanish and Farsi like a native, but even natives have different accents. When I speak English and French, though, I have Spanish accent since the ones who taught me had it.
The thing I was wondering, is which kind of accent he had while speaking Spanish. I used Zevran as an example, because he was voiced by a non Spanish person and didn't have Spanish accent at all (I know, he spoke only in English). It wouldn't make any sense for him to have English or whatever weird accent while speaking Spanish either...

Yeah, that will be interesting!   I wonder if there will be enough there to really tell -  I didn't read it that carefully, but I thought the leak mostly showed the occassional word and not a lot of actual lines in Spanish, but I might have missed them.

I do not have an accent. The rest of you weirdos talk funny.

Wow. Your male Shepard does not have a stick? Mine has one. And in ME3 he will definitely "pokepokepoke" Kaidan. I still have a female Shepard who will be waiting for Kaidan to do some "pokepokepoke" of his own.

Oh... my. Well, you should check out her entire "sausage" post on the James Vega thread. That thread is... well... I'm pretty sure it's not what Bioware originally had in mind for a "badass" character support thread. It has to be the most gay/girlie squeee thread on the BSN. I laugh my ass off whenever I read "I hate stupid Halo dudebro-clone James Vega!" posts on other threads.

I have to say I  agree. And I'm pretty sure I contributed to its gayness at some point. :?

On the James Vega thread they run posts of the various Vega-related tweets and one confirmed that Vega will speak Spanish. I believe one such exchange will establish that Ashley Williams is Hispanic as well. Not sure what happens if Kaidan is the survivor.

As a Hispanic of Native American descent he SHOULD speak with a Mexican accent, but it could always be argued he may have learned "proper" or a hybrid Spanish through some Latino melting pot in the future Earth.

I have tried to focus on how cool it is that a we have a major Latino character, but the focus was inevitably turned to the thread regulars' appreciation of Latinos' alleged sexual super powers. I mean, it is true that we do have sexual super powers. Take me, for example...

Hey! Who's laughing?

given that the ME3 demo will be released on Valentine's Day I kinda pledged my daily sketches until then to drawing cute, cuddly ME drawings (with the option for some DA ;) )

personally, I'm not shipping those two, but I thought maybe someone in here does and might like the image ... if not I'll return to my sad little corner until I draw something mShenko- or mShega-esque

So quiet today... Maybe we should play higher or lower? We know they took time to create (possibly exclusive) m/m content, which we suspect was very low on the to do/priority list. So did they invest time and money to make nude models for love interests? Was the priority for naked bodies higher or lower than a m/m romance? Is it in the game or not?

I'm gonna say higher. Yes, I think they will have naked bodies for humans and asari at least.

The devs said that the sex scenes are going to be like ME2.  No sideboob for us!  Also, if the leaked script is any indication, Steve's romance looks to be a kiss and then fade to black.

@ Criz-Zone -- Your art has to be best of all the "cute" ME fan art.
