Well that thread just go shut down. Personally I chalk it up to the completely ineffectual reporting system maintained on these boards, combined with a lack of mods. I sent a report to Woo but he isn't on this late and tbh I don't have the time or desire to go about PM'ing every mod on the site and hoping I hit one that both cares and is around in time to shut it down before it goes on for so long.
I managed to get Selene Moonsong (who thankfully shut it down) since I'd noticed them editing a post for spam.
The reporting system (the big red button) is pretty woeful, yeah. Plus the fact that only two or three of the mods listed as mods at the bottom of the page are actually regularly on the forum makes it really difficult to get things shut down quickly. Apart from Woo and Priestly there are only four or five names I regularly see locking down topics, despite dozens of people having mod powers.

To be a bit on topic I'm working on a playthrough of a Shep who is intended for the new s/s female romance. Been interesting so far but I can't help but wonder if she'll get a crack at anyone else that wasn't avaliable before.

I've been wondering, can anyone who read the scripts tell me if we are meeting Blasto in person in ME3?? Loved the jokes aout him and it would be awesome to have a mission with him as a fellow specter. If not, they could make that a DCL. I'd totally buy that!!
I think that, sadly, Blasto remains a fictional character in the MEverse.
There's a hilarious fake excerpt from a Blasto movie, though.

It is just closed. As I don't like to enter bully fights of troll threads I've just tried to read all post. In the end both sides of the argument show how low they can get.
Look at the bright side, at least they didn't attack this thread. *must look things positively, yes?*
I actually have to disagree with you there, along with those in the thread saying your trolling so all the oppositing opinion is invalid. Sure Both sides had some trolls, some pics put in only too offend, although in itself a picture of two guys kissing or biscuits with rainbow patterns aren't offense, what always is, no matter the context and incredibly low is threats of violence and death and thinking less of anyone who isn't a White straight male born in american with great grandparents from there and those supporting/advocating it by saying he had a point to be made. The guy openly attacked bioware for things like Fan art and fan videos on youtube, can you really say anyone against him sunk lower?
Tbh I'm not a fan of the title of the one o/s thread there atm, the connotations of "stay on target" are either grim or false. Yet the message is allowed, one of either other ways are wrong or they are in danger of not having the option there. Unlike same sex thread which usually ask for an option, and addition, support love and even though it's come along way where s/s romances are more frequent, if they weren't asked for or has no support shown for the inclusion in a game likely would not be put in. I have no issue with a o/s romance discussion thread but that title bothers me and frightens me a little every time I see it, mostly because it's seen as harmless when it really isn't. Maybe it's only bothering me so much right now due to the length of time it took to close the other thread, even with a mod that edited post and deleted some, banning one duplicate account but completely ignoring the real issue of the thread, that too by a mod was deemed ok all the facism, racism, homophobia and violent threats.
Yes I did reply, though tried to do so in a calm fashion pointing out the basic flaw behind his case. Mostly on the off chance he wasn't a troll and then for those that may not be trolls and support the agruement. Was a pointless excercise in pointlessness really, lets hope things like that don't scare them into a last minute pull of s/s romances though, probally too late too now though thankfully.
I won't say more on that though, but anyway on topic, Mackenzie, playing a new Manshep myself ready for the 1st m/m romance (not new :/) I still say theres sexual tension between him and Kaidan though, every time I go talk to him theres that orange lit corner, my shepard leers ares he wipes sweat from his brow and both stand in an awkward silence for a few seconds...it's that or the screen in front of him has some of jokers special bookmarks.

The mod closed it very quickly (like, within a minute) when made aware of the amount of site-breaking content in there,
At the time they removed the spam in the 'I don't see the point of s/s romances' thread, all they were doing was going around cleaning up after the Stanley Woo impersonator (going to all the threads they'd been in and removing their posts). They hadn't noticed the fighting and insults, since at that time they were busy trying to stop the Woo impersonator from wreaking havoc.

I never said being lower than opposing side. I used that words in context with "getting lower than yourself". As English ain't my native language let me explain. Doing something you normaly don't just to show you are meaner than your opponent.
If you ask my personal opinion non of the pictures were offending to me, presenting them in a public place with that manner (gay/straight not matter in this case) is not classy. However I can understand how they can be equal to "gay sex" to straight crowd. Humanity progress slowly in topics where they don't want to progress. Imagine today's explicit pictures and ones from 30s or 40s.
I can understand your posting reason (and thanks for being few of the sane posters there) but I learned from my past on BSN, if it looks like a troll you can't reason with them. Worse they turn any sane person into drooling lunatic with their chaotic/unreasonable ideas.
Anyway if I offended you or any others who posted in that thread, I am sorry. Don't worry about Bioware. They put S/S romance in ME 3 and promised do it on SW:TOR even after DA2 rages. Long live Bioware! o/
Let's say somethings on topic just to follow to suit.
After seeing that Beta opening on Youtube, romancing with Vega seems a bit weird (M/M or M/F). He looks up to Shepard. He sees him as a teacher. Now it feels like taking advantage of my naive pupil. So I will take "on the back seat of the shuttle with Cortez" option.

Stranley Wru, or something stupid. They were making topics and posting everywhere, including in that s/s thread.
One of the mods had to chase down all their posts and remove them (in case people thought it was actually Woo, I guess?), it meant they didn't actually notice the content of the posts in the s/s thread.

I'm not really sold on the whole 'Vega is an immature marine' thing, he's only four or five years younger than Shepard (once we take away the two years the Commander spent, uh, dead). 26 isn't exactly young, and we know he would've reached the heights of the 'marine' section of the Alliance Navy because of one of his conversations with Shepard.
I mean, there are gaps in life experience, fame, reputation and probably skill - sure, but it does feel faintly odd to call a relationship like that an abuse of advantage.
Plus he's written as a reasonably bright character, not cultured per se but lightyears away from a jarhead archetype. The easy banter with the squad, and Steve, don't make him feel at all like a macho marine stereotype.
(Side-note: I know there are a whole bunch of people who are creeped out by romances with squad members *in general*, particularly in a military-esque game like ME where they're basically conscripted onto the ship under Shepard's command)

For Vega I understand your very true facts however he looks with those puppy eyes to Shepard.
As a guy who've been in Military I can say rank is more important in that case. Being in relationship with lower ranking soldier generally viewed as lack of disipline, so that soldier's rank group usually dismiss you as an authority. So if you want to fling with fellow soldiers better keep it in ranks range otherwise you can find yourself in trouble. Tho' I've used relationship as sexual one, not a romantic one. You can't choose who you fall in love unfortunately. Another factor, depending on the country that kind of relationships can have grave consequences if military doesn't allow S/S relationships.
In the end it is best to avoid in Military relationships if it's possible.
I didn't play ME 1 yet so can't say much about it. However on ME 2 Normandy crew more like bunch of mercs than a military organization.

If I'm not mistaken, a relationship (sexual or otherwise) between someone and their commanding officer is strictly forbidden and grounds for discharge. However, in Mass Effect 1, both Ashley and Kaidan are your subordinates and both do make note of the rules against fraternization. And both follow to the letter of the law until Shepard steals the Normandy in the end-game in which case fraternization is noted to be low on the charges if they're caught.Asperius wrote...

I get where you're coming from. You are right, if you know "better" you should hold yourself to those standards, regardless of how offensive the other side gets, in the end the one coming out looking better and more likely to be listened to will be those that do.
Nice comparison to 30/40's lives where even straight public displays of affection were looked down on.
And no you really didn't offend me, I was probally just a bit riled up after reading those things. I apoligise if it seemed like I was attacking you in anyway, I didn't mean it like that. I am sorry if it did though again, I'll leave it at that, mostly me being over sensitive, reading too much into things or reading the wrong things out of something (ie. stay on target). For the LOVE after all.
So anyhow, if Vega is a romance option then I'd likely not be taking it. Tbh I think part of the reason I like the idea of a MShep/Kaidan relationship is that they've had time, the story arc is nicer and less taking advantage of or rushing hip first into the relationship. He hasn't just saved his life, there's been ups and downs and they've known each other for years prior to ME. His backstory helps and his self disipline in holding back not to hurt anyone, but I don't know much about any of the new males that might be the M/M ones. Still I think it'll be hard to live up to that potential story. I hope one isn't a male Liara though, you save them, they become infatuated and then the following game they say how bad that sort of relationship is. Even if the choices there I dislike though, I'd still be glad of the option and that small step forward/keeping with what they have done in the past, rather it in then out not to sound completely ungrateful, I'll be given him a whirl even if its not super sweaty tense kaidan.
